The hitch has a gross load capacity of 3,500 lbs. trailer weight and 350 lbs. tongue weight when used as a weight-carrying hitch. However, you must not exceed your vehicle manufacturer's recommended towing capacity, which may be lower.
No, drilling is not required. The hitch uses existing threaded holes in the frame rails and factory tie-down bracket mounting points.
The kit includes 6 hex tap bolts (part number 10-10298) and 6 washers (part number 30-00148, S-CON 3/8 YZ). These fasteners attach the hitch to the frame rails at three threaded holes on each side.
You will need a torque wrench capable of tightening to 48 lb.-ft., a socket set to fit 10mm fasteners, and a jack or lift to raise the vehicle safely to access the frame rails underneath.
You must remove the tie-down brackets on both the left and right frame rails under the rear of the vehicle and return them to the customer. You also need to remove the plastic caps in the forward threaded holes. These holes will be used to mount the hitch.
Raise the hitch into position under the vehicle frames and over the exhaust. Then attach it at three threaded holes in each frame rail using the provided fasteners.
