Jack up the rear of the vehicle or raise it on a hoist and support the frame with safety stands. Lower the axle or raise the body until the springs are completely extended. Then insert the lower protector into the coil spring before installing the air spring.
The stem must face down when the air spring is installed into the coil. Before installation, remove the plastic cap from the barbed stem, exhaust the air by rolling the spring up toward the stem, and re-install the cap to hold the flat shape.
Install the air line onto the barbed stem of the air spring and ensure the clamp is in the proper position using needle nose pliers. The air line clamp must fully cover all the barbs on the stem. Make sure the air lines are secured away from any pinch points and routed through the control arms to a proper location for the tee fitting.
The lower protector is inserted into the coil spring before the air spring. The upper protector covers the exposed stud and protects the air spring from damage. The larger end of the upper protector must face down. When lowering the vehicle, ensure the upper protector stays on the threaded stud to prevent puncturing the air spring.
