Do this on the front and rear of the lower bracket and evenly torque both sides to 10 lb.-ft. 6. Repeat for the other side. 7. Finish by installing the 5/8" diameter clip (K) over the emergency brake line and attach it to the lower bracket using the 5/16" bolt installed previously, one flat washer (Q), and nylon lock nut (P), torqued to 15 lb.-ft. Note: It may be necessary to adjust the hard brake line bracket on the left rear (driver's side) to gain clearance.
The manual shows three recommended locations for Schrader valve installation: inside the fuel tank filler door, inside rear wheel wells, or in the license plate or rear bumper area. Choose a location and drill a 5/16" (8 mm) hole if necessary.
It is recommended that the air line be routed along the top of the frame, forward of the axle, then down to the fitting. Secure the air lines to the upper coil spring mount with zip ties. Use zip ties to secure the air line to fixed points along the chassis. Do not pinch or kink the air line. The minimum bend radius for the air line is 1" (25 mm). Leave at least 2" (50 mm) of slack in the air line to allow for any movement that might pull on the air line. Maintain at least 6" (150 mm) of clearance between all air lines and the exhaust system.
Cut the air line in half using clean, square cuts with a razor blade or hose cutter. Do not use scissors or wire cutters.
The minimum bend radius for the air line is 1" (25 mm). Avoid sharp bends and edges.
Maintain at least 6" (150 mm) of clearance between all air lines and the exhaust system. Avoid sharp bends and edges.
Yes, you should install a heat shield to protect the air line from the exhaust. Attach the metal heat shield to the exhaust where it is closest to the air spring. Slide the air line thermal sleeve over the air line and place it where the air line is closest to the exhaust. Maintain at least 1/2" (13 mm) of dead air space between the shield and exhaust. If a heat shield was included in the kit, install it. If there is no heat shield but one is required, call Air Lift customer service at (800) 248-0892.
The maximum air pressure is 100 PSI (7 BAR). Never inflate beyond 100 PSI.
The minimum recommended air pressure is 5 PSI (0.34 BAR).
The LoadLifter 5000 provides up to 5,000 pounds (2,268 kg) of load-leveling support. However, you must not exceed the vehicle's maximum gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR) or payload rating as indicated by the vehicle manufacturer.
1. Clearance test: Inflate the air springs to 40–60 PSI (2.8–4.1 BAR) and ensure at least 1/2" (13 mm) clearance from anything that might rub against each air spring. Check the tire, brakes, frame, shock absorbers, and brake cables. 2. Leak test: Inflate the air springs to 40–60 PSI and check all connections for leaks. All leaks must be eliminated before road testing. 3. Heat test: Ensure at least 6" (152 mm) clearance from heat sources for air springs and air lines. Install a heat shield if included. 4. Fastener test: After 500 miles (800 km), recheck all bolts for proper torque. 5. Road test: Drive the vehicle 10 miles (16 km) and recheck for clearance, loose fasteners, and air leaks.

Yes, always maintain normal ride height. Never inflate beyond 100 PSI (7 BAR).
No. For safety and to prevent possible damage to the vehicle, do not exceed the maximum gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR) or payload rating as indicated by the vehicle manufacturer. Although the air springs are rated at a maximum inflation pressure of 100 PSI (7 BAR), the air pressure actually needed is dependent on load and gross vehicle weight rating.
Install the swivel fitting (E) into the top of the air spring finger-tight plus one and a half turns.
Set a roll plate (D) over the top of each air spring (C) with the radiused (rounded) edge of the roll plate toward the air spring so that the air spring is seated inside both roll plates.
Set both air springs in front of you with the fittings pointing opposite of each other. When installing the assemblies on the vehicle, position them with the fittings pointing inboard toward the center of the vehicle.
The left hand upper bracket (A1) goes on the driver's side, and the right hand upper bracket (A2) goes on the passenger's side. The brackets are marked with "L" and "R" to specify left and right hand assemblies.
Insert the 5/16" bolt (L) and flat washer (Q) from the top down in the corner hole of the lower bracket (B). This bolt must be on the same side as the fitting on the air spring.
The bolt and stud on the upper bracket should insert into the two front holes in the frame.
Install the air line thermal sleeve over the air line on the passenger's (right) side before inserting into the fitting.
Leave at least 2" (50 mm) of slack in the air line to allow for any movement that might pull on the air line.
Maintain at least 1/2" (13 mm) of dead air space between the heat shield and the exhaust.
100 PSI (7 BAR). Never inflate beyond this pressure.
Inflate to 40–60 PSI and ensure at least 1/2" (13 mm) clearance from anything that might rub against each air spring, including tires, brakes, frame, shock absorbers, and brake cables.
After 500 miles (800 km), recheck all bolts for proper torque.
At least 6" (150 mm) of clearance must be maintained between all air lines and the exhaust system.
Upper bracket fasteners: 20 lb.-ft.; upper mounting hardware: 25 lb.-ft.; lower bracket mounting hardware: 10 lb.-ft.; emergency brake line clip: 15 lb.-ft.
