The LoadLifter 5000 Ultimate is an adjustable air helper spring system that provides load-leveling support for 3/4-ton and 1-ton pickups and SUVs with leaf springs. It uses reinforced, commercial-grade convolute bellows and provides up to 5,000 pounds of load-leveling support with air adjustability from 5 to 100 PSI. The system helps maintain proper ride height when towing or hauling heavy loads.
The kit is recommended for most 3/4-ton and 1-ton pickups and SUVs with leaf springs. However, you must verify fitment for your specific vehicle before purchasing. Check both sides of the frame rail for obstructions (specifically propane lines) that may prevent mounting on the outside of the frame rail. If obstructions are present, kit 57131 (which mounts under the frame to the axle) may be required instead.
Any type of load assist product could affect brake performance on vehicles equipped with a rear brake proportioning valve. Air Lift recommends checking with your vehicle dealer before installing this product. If your vehicle does NOT have a rear brake proportioning valve or is equipped with an anti-lock brake system, installation will have NO EFFECT on brake system performance.
Normal Ride Height is the distance between the bottom edge of the wheel-well and the center of the hub with the vehicle in its "as delivered" condition. It is critical to measure and record this before installation because the air spring assembly must be positioned to maintain this height. During installation, you must restore the vehicle to this original ride height before securing the brackets. This ensures proper air spring alignment and function.
The kit requires a minimum of 7.5 inches of clearance between the frame and the tire for a fully inflated air spring. You must measure this distance before installation to confirm your vehicle has adequate space. If clearance is insufficient, the kit may not be suitable for your vehicle.
The distance between the upper and lower brackets must be between 4.5 and 6.5 inches at normal ride height. If the measurement is not within this range, or if the stock u-bolts hit the lower bracket, use the two spacer bars (part M) provided in the kit under the lower bracket to achieve the correct distance.
Install the air fitting (part E) finger tight plus 1 and 1/2 turns using a 7/16" open-end wrench. Tighten only on the metal hex nut; do not overtighten. The fitting is precoated with sealant, so additional sealant is not needed for initial installation.

The manual requires center-punching the hole location first and drilling one hole at a time, checking bracket alignment after each hole.
Yes. You must drill 5/16" holes to install the inflation valves. Popular mounting locations include the wheel well flanges, license plate recess in the bumper, under the gas cap access door, or through the license plate. Choose a location with enough clearance around the valve for an air chuck to be easily applied.
All upper bracket frame bolts (part I) must be tightened to 44 lb-ft. Use a torque wrench to ensure proper tightness. This torque applies to all four frame bolts that secure the upper bracket to the frame rail.

Route the air line along the frame to the fitting on the air spring, maintaining at least 6 inches of clearance from the exhaust system. Avoid sharp bends and edges. Use zip ties to secure the air line to fixed points along the chassis. Tie straps should be tight but must not pinch the air line. Leave at least 2 inches of slack to allow for movement that might pull on the air line. Do not bend 1/4" hose at a radius less than 1" or 3/8" hose at a radius less than 1.5".
Use a sharp knife or hose cutter to make clean, square cuts. Do not use scissors or wire cutters, as these tools may deform the air line and cause leaks. Do not cut at an angle. Leave approximately 12 inches of extra air line. Insert the air line into the push-to-connect fitting by wiggling the hose back and forth while inserting to ensure the hose bottoms out in the fitting for a good seal.
The maximum air pressure is 100 PSI. Never exceed this pressure. However, the actual air pressure needed depends on load and your vehicle's GVWR. Do not exceed your vehicle's maximum gross vehicle weight rating regardless of air spring pressure or other load assist.
The recommended minimum air pressure is 5 PSI. However, the system can safely be run at zero air pressure when the vehicle is unladen (no load). No. Installing air springs will not change the GAWR (Gross Axle Weight Rating), GCWR (Gross Combined Weight Rating), or GVWR (Gross Vehicle Weight Rating) of your vehicle. You must not exceed the maximum load listed in your vehicle's owner's manual or on the Safety Compliance Certification Label. Exceeding the GVWR is dangerous and voids the Air Lift warranty.
Before operating, perform these checks: (1) Clearance test—inflate to 75-90 PSI and verify at least 1/2" clearance from tire, brakes, frame, shock absorbers, and brake cables; (2) Leak test—inflate to 75-90 PSI and check all connections for leaks; (3) Heat test—ensure at least 6" clearance from heat sources; (4) Fastener test—recheck all bolts for proper torque; (5) Road test—drive 10 miles and recheck clearance, fasteners, and leaks; (6) Overnight leak-down test—recheck pressure after 24 hours; (7) Thirty-day or 500-mile test—recheck the system and all fasteners.
Inflate the air springs to 30 PSI. Spray all connections and inflation valves with a solution of 1 part liquid dish soap and 4 parts water. Leaks are easily spotted by looking for bubbles in the soapy water. After testing, deflate the springs to the minimum pressure required to restore normal ride height (not lower than 5 PSI). A 2-4 PSI loss after initial installation is normal. If loss exceeds 5 PSI, retest for leaks.

When increasing load, always adjust air pressure to maintain normal ride height. Loads carried behind the axle (including tongue loads) require more leveling force (pressure) than those carried directly over the axle. As much as a 50 PSI difference between sides is not uncommon for uneven loads such as water, fuel, or appliances.
