The LoadLifter 5000 Series is an air spring suspension support system that provides up to 5,000 pounds (2,268 kg) of load-leveling support. It uses reinforced, commercial-grade convolute bellows and allows air adjustability from 5–100 PSI (0.34–7 BAR). The system helps level the vehicle under load and can be adjusted to maintain proper ride height.
These kits are designed for GM 2500–3500HD trucks. The manual does not specify model years or distinguish fitment between the three kit numbers.
All three kits (57341, 88341, 89341) use the same air springs and installation process but differ in finish and air line type. Standard LoadLifter 5000 has zinc-plated steel roll plates and black nylon air lines. LoadLifter 5000 Ultimate has black powder-coated roll plates and black nylon air lines. LoadLifter 5000 Ultimate Plus has stainless steel roll plates, braided stainless steel air lines, and stainless steel air spring mounting hardware. Air Lift also offers upgrade kits 52300 (braided stainless steel air line and fittings) and 52301 (stainless steel roll plates, hardware, and braided air lines).
Required tools include: standard and metric open-end or box wrenches (set), ratchet, standard and metric regular and deep-well sockets (set), 7/32" hex-key wrench, 5/16" drill bits (very sharp), heavy-duty drill, torque wrench, large screwdriver or small pry bar, hose cutter/razor blade/sharp knife, hoist or floor jack, safety stands, safety glasses (pair), air compressor or compressed air source, and spray bottle with dish soap/water solution.

Yes. Remove the jounce bumpers from the jounce bumper brackets on both sides by prying them out with a pry bar or large screwdriver.
Remove the two bolts holding the brake/ABS line bracket to the back of the jounce bumper strike plate and pull the bracket away to make room for the lower bracket. Disconnect the ABS wiring harness loom holder from the stock brake/ABS line bracket by squeezing the two locking tabs and pulling it out. Leave the loom holder loose for repositioning later.
Torque the 3/8"-24 × 3/4" flat head screws (part H) that attach the upper brackets (C & D) to the air springs to no more than 20 lb.-ft. (27 Nm).
Install the 90-degree swivel elbow fitting (G) onto the air springs and tighten finger-tight plus 1½ turns. Do not overtighten.
Use the first and third holes on each lower bracket (B) to attach to the air springs. Position the lower bracket with its angled section pointing toward the fitting side of the air spring. Attach using two 3/8" flat head screws (H) and torque to no more than 20 lb.-ft. (27 Nm).
With the suspension at full extension, set the driver's (left) and passenger's (right) side assemblies over the axle jounce bumper strike plates, ensuring the fitting points to the inside of the frame. Push the lower bracket down flush to the strike plate and align it so the tab and hole on the brake/ABS bracket align with the holes in the lower bracket.
Torque the clamp bar (A) hardware evenly to 16 lb.-ft. (22 Nm). The clamp bar is secured with 3/8" carriage bolts (M) and 3/8" serrated lock nuts (O).
After inflating the system to 10 PSI, torque both upper bracket U-bolts to 10 lb.-ft. (14 Nm), starting with the square U-bolt first.
Yes. The driver's (left) side has a wiring harness running along the top of the inside of the frame. When installing the U-bolt, ensure it is positioned between the wiring harness and the frame to avoid pinching the harness.
Yes. A 5/16" (8 mm) hole must be drilled to mount the Schrader valve(s). The manual recommends locations inside the fuel tank filler door, inside rear wheel wells, or in the license plate or rear bumper area (especially for Ultimate Plus kits). Use a sharp 5/16" drill bit and heavy-duty drill.
No. The braided stainless steel air lines cannot be trimmed. Any excess must be coiled and secured in an area where it will not be susceptible to damage. Nylon air lines, however, must be cut to length using a razor blade or hose cutter.
Cut nylon air lines in half using a razor blade or hose cutter, making clean, square cuts. Do not use scissors or wire cutters.
The minimum bend radius for air lines is 1" (25 mm). Avoid sharp bends and edges. Leave at least 2" (50 mm) of slack in the air line to allow for movement that might pull on the line.
Tighten the air line hex nut finger-tight, then use two wrenches to turn one additional flat (1/6 of one full turn). Do not overtighten. The easiest way to tighten the fitting is off the vehicle before final installation.
Keep at least 6" (150 mm) of clearance between all air lines and the exhaust system. Avoid sharp bends and edges. If a heat shield is included in the kit, install it and bend it for maximum clearance to the air spring, maintaining at least 1/2" (13 mm) dead air space between the shield and exhaust pipe.
The maximum air pressure is 100 PSI (7 BAR). Never inflate beyond this pressure. Although the air springs are rated at 100 PSI, the actual pressure needed depends on load and gross vehicle weight rating.
The minimum recommended pressure is 5 PSI (0.34 BAR).
Perform the following checks: (1) Clearance test—inflate to 40–60 PSI and verify at least 1/2" (13 mm) clearance from tires, brakes, frame, shock absorbers, and brake cables. (2) Leak test—inflate to 40–60 PSI and check all connections for leaks; all leaks must be eliminated before road testing. (3) Heat test—ensure at least 6" (152 mm) clearance from heat sources; install heat shield if included. (4) Fastener test—after 500 miles (800 km), recheck all bolts for proper torque. (5) Road test—drive 10 miles (16 km) and recheck for clearance, loose fasteners, and air leaks.
Check air pressure weekly.
Use a soapy water solution to check all air line connections and the inflation valve core before deflating and removing the air spring. Identify the source of the leak and repair or replace the affected component.
After 500 miles (800 km), recheck all bolts for proper torque.
No. Do not exceed the maximum gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR) or payload rating as indicated by the vehicle manufacturer. Although the air springs are rated at 100 PSI (7 BAR), the actual air pressure needed depends on load and GVWR. Exceeding these limits may damage the vehicle and create a safety hazard.
For nylon air lines, secure them to the upper coil spring mount with zip ties (BB) supplied. For braided stainless steel air lines, use zip ties to secure the line to fixed points along the chassis every 6" to 8" (150–200 mm). Do not pinch or kink the air line. Leave at least 2" (50 mm) of slack to allow for movement.
After inflating the system to 10 PSI, torque both upper bracket U-bolts to 10 lb.-ft. (14 Nm), starting with the square U-bolt (I) first, then the round U-bolt (L).
Yes. When installing the U-bolts, leave both sides loose at this time. They are tightened to final torque (10 lb.-ft. / 14 Nm) only after the air lines are installed and the system is inflated to 10 PSI.
