No. The factory jounce bumpers must be removed as part of the installation. They are removed using a 13mm socket and extension (the bolts have blue sealant and may require a small impact). The M10 flange head bolt (Q) is then installed in the locations created by the jounce bumpers, with approximately 1/2" (13 mm) gap between the bolt flange and the chassis.
Yes. The brake line tabs attached to both sides of the leaf spring perches must be removed using a 10mm socket. Additionally, the plastic clip from the ABS line on the right side of the axle must be removed. The wiring harness and ABS line must be moved out of the way, and a small portion of the brake line bracket must be cut (approximately 1.375" or 35 mm from the edge) for proper clearance to fit the lower bracket.
The air spring (E) is flipped upside down with the air fitting port facing down. The roll plate (F), spacer (if required), and lower bracket (B) are placed on the air spring with all holes lined up. The hex head screw (N or I) with flat washer (J) and lock washer (K) is threaded finger-tight. The air fitting port must face inboard of the vehicle, and the air spring must be mounted forward on the bracket. Everything is kept loose enough so the air spring can slide front to back until final alignment.
The spacer (G) is required if the distance between the upper and lower brackets at ride height measures 6.75"–7.50" (171–191 mm). To determine this, temporarily set the lower bracket (B) into position and lower the truck body/frame to ride height. Measure from the bottom mounting surface of the lower bracket to the top mounting surface of the upper bracket. If the measurement is within this range, install the spacer. If not, use the included shorter hardware (N) without the spacer.
The air fitting port on the air spring must face inboard of the vehicle (toward the center). The air spring must be mounted forward on the bracket. The air fittings (H) are installed finger-tight plus 1 1/2 turns after the assembly is flipped upright.
The upper bracket (C for left, D for right) is pushed up against the frame so the flanged bolt (Q) passes through the keyway in the bracket. When the bracket is against the frame, push the bracket outward to lock into the keyway. Nylon air lines should be routed along the top of the frame, forward of the axle, then down to the fitting.
