These 3" nerf bars are constructed from strong carbon steel for superior rigidity, and they feature a sleek semi-gloss black powder coat finish. For an added edge, each nerf bar also goes through an E-coat process, before receiving its black powder coat, to strengthen and protect the final finish against peeling, chipping and scratching. ARIES 3" round side bars are also available in polished stainless steel or semi-gloss black powder-coated steel. All ARIES 3" nerf bars come with heavy-duty steel brackets and non-skid step pads. The mounting brackets are strong and custom-designed for specific makes and models to allow the side bars to contour to the lines of your vehicle. They offer easy installation and the strength necessary to provide sound footing. These particular custom nerf bars fit specific years of the Ford Bronco (see application info to verify fitment). ARIES 3" round side bars also come with non-skid step pads made of tough polypropylene. These step pads feature a textured pattern for enhanced safety, and they cover a wide portion of the tubes for a more comfortable step.

Yes. The installation procedure requires help or a jack stand to raise the front of the sidebar during positioning and alignment (Step 4). A second person or lifting equipment is necessary.
Yes. Three 10mm holes must be drilled per side into the front body mount. The holes are marked in place during installation (Step 4) and drilled with a 10mm drill bit (Step 4). This is a permanent modification to the vehicle.
The manual specifies a 10mm drill bit for drilling the three holes per side. A marker is needed to mark hole locations. Standard wrenches or sockets for 10mm and 5/8" fasteners are required. A jack stand or lifting equipment is needed to raise the sidebar during installation.
1. Attach the front mounting bracket to the sidebar with 4 × 10mm bolts, snug but not tight. 2. Remove the factory rear nut from the front leaf spring bolt and secure the sidebar with a 5/8" nut and 16mm lock washer, snug but loose enough to pivot. 3. Raise the sidebar level with the cab using a jack stand, mark the 3 holes, lower, and drill. 4. Raise the sidebar again and secure with 3 × 10mm bolts, snug but not tight. 5. Level and align, then tighten all hardware. 6. Repeat for the other side.
Attach the front mounting bracket to the front leg of the sidebar using 4 × 10mm hex bolts, 8 × 10mm flat washers, 4 × 10mm lock washers, and 4 × 10mm hex nuts. The offset portion of the bracket should face towards the frame. Snug the hardware but do not tighten at this stage.
Remove the factory rear nut from the front of the leaf spring bolt. Place the sidebar over the leaf spring bolt and secure it with 1 × 5/8" nut and 1 × 16mm lock washer. Snug the fasteners but leave them loose enough to allow the sidebar to pivot during positioning.
With help or a jack stand, raise the front of the sidebar until it is level with the bottom of the cab, maintaining equal distance between the cab and sidebar in both front and rear. Position the bracket against the front body mount, mark the 3 holes with a marker, then lower the sidebar and drill the holes with a 10mm drill bit.
After drilling the 3 × 10mm holes, raise the sidebar back into position and secure it with 3 × 10mm hex bolts, 6 × 10mm flat washers, 3 × 10mm lock washers, and 3 × 10mm hex nuts. Snug the hardware but do not tighten at this stage.
After the sidebar is properly leveled and aligned with the cab, tighten all hardware. This is the final step (Step 6) after both the front mounting bracket bolts and the leaf spring bolt fasteners are in place.
Wax the sidebars after installation to protect the finish. Regular waxing is recommended. Do not use polish or wax containing abrasives, as these can damage the finish. For stainless steel, aluminum polish may be used on small scratches and scuffs, and mild soap may be used for cleaning. For gloss black finishes, use mild soap only. Perform periodic inspections to ensure all hardware remains secure and tight.
