ARIES 3" side bars are more than a fancy decal for your truck, Jeep or SUV. They are a confident first step on each new adventure. These 3" nerf bars are constructed from strong carbon steel for superior rigidity, and they feature a sleek semi-gloss black powder coat finish. For an added edge, each nerf bar also goes through an E-coat process, before receiving its black powder coat, to strengthen and protect the final finish against peeling, chipping and scratching. ARIES 3" round side bars are also available in polished stainless steel or semi-gloss black powder-coated steel. All ARIES 3" nerf bars come with heavy-duty steel brackets and non-skid step pads. The mounting brackets are strong and custom-designed for specific makes and models to allow the side bars to contour to the lines of your vehicle. They offer easy installation and the strength necessary to provide sound footing. These particular custom nerf bars fit specific years of the Ford Bronco and F150 (see application info to verify fitment). ARIES 3" round side bars also come with non-skid step pads made of tough polypropylene. These step pads feature a textured pattern for enhanced safety, and they cover a wide portion of the tubes for a more comfortable step.

Yes, Curt part number 203001 is designed for 1980-96 Ford Bronco and 1980-96 F-Series Regular Cab vehicles. The manual covers both the standard 203001 and 203001-2 versions for these applications.
No. The Curt 203001 is designed only for 1980-96 F-Series Regular Cab vehicles. It is not compatible with crew cab models.
The kit includes: two sidebars (driver/left and passenger/right), four front mounting brackets, four rear brace brackets, four rear frame bracket sets (parts A and B), two spacer tubes, hardware (coupler nuts, hex bolts, flat washers, lock washers, and hex nuts in 7/16", 10mm, and 12mm sizes). See the parts list on page 1 for complete quantities and specifications.
The manual does not specify which tools are required. You will need wrenches or sockets to fit 7/16", 10mm, and 12mm fasteners, and a torque wrench to tighten the coupling nuts to 40 ft/lbs. A level may be helpful for aligning the sidebars. Contact the manufacturer or an installer for a complete tool list.
No factory parts removal is mentioned in the installation instructions. The sidebar installation uses existing factory body mounting bolts and the seat belt bolt located near the end of the door jam under the rocker panel. You may need to clean the threads on these factory bolts before installation.
No drilling is required. The installation uses existing factory mounting points: the front body mounting bolt and the seat belt bolt under the rocker panel.
Install the passenger/right side first, then repeat for the driver/left side. For each side: (1) attach the front mounting bracket and spacer tube to the factory front body mounting bolt using a 7/16"-14 coupler nut; (2) assemble the rear frame bracket parts A and B; (3) attach part A to the frame rail; (4) secure the rear brace bracket to the seat belt bolt using a 7/16"-20 coupler nut; (5) attach the sidebar to the front and rear mounting brackets; (6) attach the rear brace bracket to the sidebar. Leave all hardware snug but loose until step 8, when you level and align the sidebar, then tighten all hardware.
No. The manual instructs you to snug but not tighten hardware during steps 2-7. Only after you have levelled and aligned the sidebar properly in step 8 should you tighten all hardware.
Both the 7/16"-14 coupling nut (front body mount) and the 7/16"-20 coupling nut (seat belt bolt) must be torqued to 40 ft/lbs.
The manual does not provide a torque specification for the 12mm bolts that connect the sidebar to the front and rear mounting brackets (step 6) or for the 12mm bolts in the rear frame bracket assembly (step 3). Contact Curt Manufacturing for the correct torque values.
The manual does not provide a torque specification for the 10mm bolts used in the rear frame bracket assembly (step 3) or the rear brace bracket attachment to the sidebar (step 7). Contact Curt Manufacturing for the correct torque values.
Locate the front factory body mounting bolt on the passenger/right side front of the vehicle. Clean the threads if necessary. Thread a 7/16"-14 x 1.75" coupling nut onto the factory bolt and torque to 40 ft/lbs. Attach the front mounting bracket and spacer tube using a 7/16"-14 hex bolt, 7/16" flat washer, and 7/16" lock washer through the bracket and spacer tube, securing to the coupling nut. Snug but do not tighten until step 8.
Thread a 10mm x 25mm hex head bolt into part A a few turns. Connect parts A and B together using one 12mm x 40mm hex bolt, two 12mm flat washers, one 12mm lock washer, and one 12mm hex nut. Snug but do not tighten until step 8.
Attach rear frame bracket part A to the bottom lip of the frame rail. Snug the 10mm hex head bolt but do not tighten until step 8.
Locate the seat belt bolt near the end of the door jam under the rocker panel. Clean the threads if necessary. Thread a 7/16"-20 coupling nut onto the seat belt bolt and torque to 40 ft/lbs. Attach the rear brace bracket to the coupling nut using a 7/16"-20 hex bolt, 7/16" flat washer, and 7/16" lock washer. Snug but do not tighten until step 8.
Secure the sidebar to the front and rear mounting brackets using two 12mm x 50mm hex bolts, two 12mm flat washers, and two 12mm lock washers. Snug but do not tighten until step 8.
Attach the lower part of the rear brace bracket to the sidebar using one 10mm x 25mm hex bolt, one 10mm flat washer, and one 10mm lock washer. Snug but do not tighten until step 8.
Wax the product after installing to protect the finish. Regular waxing is recommended. Do not use any polish or wax containing abrasives, as these may damage the finish. For stainless steel, aluminum polish may be used to polish small scratches and scuffs, and mild soap may be used to clean. For gloss black finishes, use mild soap only to clean.
Perform periodic inspections to ensure all hardware is secure and tight. The manual does not specify inspection intervals or which fasteners to check first.
