ARIES 3" side bars are more than a fancy decal for your truck, Jeep or SUV. They are a confident first step on each new adventure. These 3" nerf bars are constructed from strong carbon steel for superior rigidity, and they feature a sleek semi-gloss black powder coat finish. For an added edge, each nerf bar also goes through an E-coat process, before receiving its black powder coat, to strengthen and protect the final finish against peeling, chipping and scratching. ARIES 3" round side bars are also available in polished stainless steel or semi-gloss black powder-coated steel. All ARIES 3" nerf bars come with heavy-duty steel brackets and non-skid step pads. The mounting brackets are strong and custom-designed for specific makes and models to allow the side bars to contour to the lines of your vehicle. They offer easy installation and the strength necessary to provide sound footing. These particular custom nerf bars fit specific years of the Ford F150 (see application info to verify fitment). ARIES 3" round side bars also come with non-skid step pads made of tough polypropylene. These step pads feature a textured pattern for enhanced safety, and they cover a wide portion of the tubes for a more comfortable step.

The hardware kit includes: (1) 4× M12–1.75×50 mm hex head bolts; (2) 4× 12 mm lock washers; (3) 4× 12 mm flat washers; (4) 8× 12 mm lock washers; (5) 8× 10 mm flat washers; (6) 8× 10 mm hex head nuts; and (7) 8× 10 mm plastic push-nuts. All fasteners needed for installation are included.
No. All required fasteners are included in the hardware kit: hex head bolts, lock washers, flat washers, hex head nuts, and plastic push-nuts.
Rubber plugs may need to be removed from the back side of the panel before inserting T-bolts. The manual notes this as a conditional step: remove them only if needed to allow the T-bolts to seat properly.
Follow these steps in order: (1) Insert T-bolts into the back side of the panel using plastic push-nuts, removing rubber plugs if needed; (2) Bolt mounting brackets to the T-bolts using M10 hex nuts, lock washers, and flat washers; (3) Position the side bar and fasten it to the brackets using M12–1.75×50 mm hex head bolts, lock washers, and flat washers; (4) Check fit and alignment, then torque all fasteners to specification.
Torque the M12–1.75×50 mm hex head bolts to 53 ft·lbs.
Torque the M10 hex head nuts to 29 ft·lbs.
Torque M12 bolts to 53 ft·lbs and M10 nuts to 29 ft·lbs. These torque values must be applied after checking fit and alignment.
The side bar is fastened to the mounting brackets using M12–1.75×50 mm hex head bolts with lock washers and flat washers. These bolts are torqued to 53 ft·lbs.
The mounting brackets are bolted to the T-bolts using M10 hex head nuts with lock washers and flat washers. These nuts are torqued to 29 ft·lbs.
Plastic push-nuts (10 mm) are used to secure the T-bolts to the back side of the panel during Step 1. Eight push-nuts are included in the hardware kit.
