ARIES nerf bars are all made vehicle-specific for a custom, no-drill fit, and they are available in multiple finish options. This set of nerf bars is constructed from 304 stainless steel with a polished finish. Our 304 stainless steel is a true stainless with high nickel content, offering better corrosion resistance and a long-lasting finish. The polish is a triple application, resulting in a mirror-like shine to complement your vehicle. ARIES 3" round side bars also come with high-strength steel brackets and non-skid step pads. The mounting brackets -- as well as the side bars and step pads -- are custom-designed for specific makes and models to allow the nerf bars to contour to the lines of your vehicle. This ensures easy, no-drill installation and the strength necessary to provide solid footing. This particular set of custom nerf bars fits specific years of the Ford F150 (see application info to verify fitment). ARIES 3" round side bars also come with non-skid step pads made of polypropylene. These wide, custom-positioned step pads feature a textured pattern and cover a wide portion of the tubes to be more comfortable and high-traction, even in wet conditions.

Yes. You must remove the oval grommet located on the inside of the rocker panel on the driver side front of the vehicle. This grommet is removed from underneath the vehicle and the factory hole is used to insert the offset double bolt plate.
The offset double bolt plate must be inserted with the threaded studs pointing toward the top of the vehicle. The plate is inserted into the factory oval hole in the rocker panel from underneath.
No. Do not tighten any hardware during the initial mounting bracket installation. Hardware should remain loose until after the sidebar has been positioned, levelled, and adjusted. All hardware is tightened in the final step after the sidebar is properly aligned.
Align the mounting bracket holes with the holes in the pinch weld. Insert the 8mm × 25mm hex bolts with a flat washer from the outside of the vehicle inward. Secure each bolt with an 8mm lock washer and 8mm hex nut on the inside. Use 2 bolts per mounting bracket. Do not tighten at this stage.
Each sidebar is attached to its mounting brackets using 2 pieces of 1/2" × 2" hex head bolts, 2 pieces of 1/2" lock washers, and 2 pieces of 1/2" flat washers. These bolts are installed after the mounting brackets are in place but before final tightening.
The step pad typically faces toward the front of the vehicle to match the footwell. This is the recommended orientation, though the manual indicates it is typical rather than mandatory.
Drilling is optional. The rear mounting bracket may align with only one factory hole along the pinch weld depending on model year. If desired, you may drill through the pinch weld for a second bolt hole. However, drilling should only be done after the sidebar is completely installed and adjusted to properly locate the mounting bracket. Do not drill before final positioning.
Install the driver side first by completing steps 2–7 (removing the grommet, installing front and rear mounting brackets, positioning the sidebar, levelling and adjusting, and tightening all hardware). Then repeat the same steps 2–7 for the passenger side sidebar.
Perform periodic inspections to ensure all hardware remains secure and tight. Wax the sidebar after installation to protect the finish. Regular waxing is recommended. Do not use abrasive polish or wax. For stainless steel, aluminum polish may be used for minor scratches and mild soap for cleaning. For gloss black finishes, use mild soap only.
