ARIES 3" side bars add a custom look and dependable footing to your truck, Jeep or SUV. They feature a classic style, a strong design and non-skid step pads. ARIES nerf bars are all made vehicle-specific for a custom, no-drill fit, and they are available in multiple finish options. This set of nerf bars is constructed from 304 stainless steel with a polished finish. Our 304 stainless steel is a true stainless with high nickel content, offering better corrosion resistance and a long-lasting finish. The polish is a triple application, resulting in a mirror-like shine to complement your vehicle. ARIES 3" round side bars also come with high-strength steel brackets and non-skid step pads. The mounting brackets -- as well as the side bars and step pads -- are custom-designed for specific makes and models to allow the nerf bars to contour to the lines of your vehicle. This ensures easy, no-drill installation and the strength necessary to provide solid footing. This particular set of custom nerf bars fits specific years of the Ford Bronco and F150 (see application info to verify fitment). ARIES 3" round side bars also come with non-skid step pads made of polypropylene. These wide, custom-positioned step pads feature a textured pattern and cover a wide portion of the tubes to be more comfortable and high-traction, even in wet conditions.

Yes, Curt part number 203001-2 is designed for 1980-96 Ford Bronco models. It is also compatible with 1980-96 F-Series Regular Cab trucks. Verify your vehicle matches these model years and cab style before purchasing.
No. This sidebar is designed only for 1980-96 F-Series Regular Cab trucks. It is not compatible with crew cab models.
The kit includes two sidebars (driver and passenger), front mounting brackets, rear brace brackets, rear frame brackets (parts A and B for each side), spacer tubes, and all required fasteners: 7/16-14 and 7/16-20 coupler nuts, 7/16-20 and 7/16-14 hex head bolts, 10mm and 12mm hex bolts, flat washers, lock washers, and hex nuts. See the parts list on page 1 for complete quantities.
Install the passenger (right) side first, then repeat the same steps for the driver (left) side. For each side: (1) attach the front mounting bracket and spacer tube to the factory front body mounting bolt using a 7/16-14 coupling nut; (2) assemble the rear frame brackets; (3) attach the rear frame bracket to the frame rail; (4) attach the rear brace bracket to the factory seat belt bolt; (5) secure the sidebar to the front and rear mounting brackets; (6) attach the rear brace bracket to the sidebar. Snug all hardware but do not fully tighten until both sidebars are installed and leveled.
Do not tighten hardware as you install each component. Snug all bolts but leave them loose until both sidebars are installed and properly leveled and aligned. Only after leveling and alignment are complete should you tighten all hardware. This allows for adjustment before final tightening.
The spacer tube is placed between the front mounting bracket and the factory body mounting bolt. It is secured with a 7/16-14 hex bolt, 7/16" flat washer, and 7/16" lock washer through the bracket and spacer tube to the coupling nut on the factory bolt. See Figure 1 in the manual.
Both the 7/16-14 coupling nut (front body mounting bolt) and the 7/16-20 coupling nut (seat belt bolt) must be torqued to 40 ft/lbs.
Thread a 10mm x 25mm hex head bolt into part A a few turns. Then connect parts A and B together using one 12mm x 40mm hex bolt, two 12mm flat washers, one 12mm lock washer, and one 12mm hex nut. Snug but do not tighten until final assembly. See Figure 2.
The rear frame bracket part A attaches to the bottom lip of the frame rail at the rear of the vehicle. Secure it with the 10mm hex head bolt that was threaded into part A during assembly. Snug but do not tighten until final alignment. See Figure 3.
The rear brace bracket attaches in two places: (1) to the 7/16-20 coupling nut on the seat belt bolt using a 7/16-20 hex bolt, 7/16" flat washer, and 7/16" lock washer; (2) to the sidebar using a 10mm x 25mm hex bolt, 10mm flat washer, and 10mm lock washer. Snug but do not tighten until final alignment. See Figure 4.
Snugging means tightening a bolt by hand or with a wrench until it is snug (hand-tight with moderate pressure), but not fully tightened. Throughout the installation, snug all bolts as you attach each component. Only after both sidebars are installed and properly leveled and aligned should you fully tighten all hardware.
Wax the sidebar after installation and regularly thereafter to add a protective layer. Do not use any polish or wax containing abrasives, as these can damage the finish. For stainless steel sidebars, aluminum polish may be used to polish small scratches and scuffs, and mild soap may be used for cleaning. For gloss black sidebars, use mild soap only for cleaning.
After installation, perform periodic inspections to ensure all hardware is secure and tight. The manual does not specify the inspection interval, but regular checks are recommended to maintain the integrity of the installation.
Yes. The manual notes that it may be necessary to clean the threads on the factory body mounting bolt and the factory seat belt bolt before attaching the coupling nuts. Clean threads ensure proper engagement and torque.
Yes. The first step of the installation procedure is to remove contents from the box and verify all parts are present. Compare the parts you receive against the parts list on page 1 of the manual. Read all instructions carefully before starting installation.
The front mounting bracket attaches to the factory front body mounting bolt, located at the front of the vehicle on the passenger (right) side. A 7/16-14 coupling nut is threaded onto this factory bolt, and the bracket is secured to the coupling nut with a 7/16-14 hex bolt, flat washer, and lock washer.
The rear brace bracket attaches to the factory seat belt bolt, located near the end of the door jam under the rocker panel. A 7/16-20 coupling nut is threaded onto this factory bolt, and the bracket is secured to the coupling nut with a 7/16-20 hex bolt, flat washer, and lock washer.
Yes, if you have a 1980-96 Ford Bronco or 1980-96 F-Series Regular Cab. It does not fit crew cab models.
The kit includes 7/16-14 and 7/16-20 coupling nuts, 7/16-20 and 7/16-14 hex head bolts, 10mm and 12mm hex bolts, flat washers, lock washers, and hex nuts. All fasteners needed for installation are included.
No. The sidebar uses existing factory body mounting bolts and seat belt bolts. No drilling is required.
Torque both the 7/16-14 coupling nut (front) and 7/16-20 coupling nut (rear) to 40 ft/lbs.
No. Snug all bolts but leave them loose until both sidebars are installed and leveled. Then tighten all hardware.
Wax the sidebar after installation and regularly thereafter. Do not use abrasive polish or wax. For stainless steel, aluminum polish may be used for small scratches. For gloss black, use mild soap only.
Perform periodic inspections to ensure all hardware remains secure and tight. Wax the sidebar regularly to protect the finish.
