These 3" nerf bars are constructed from strong carbon steel for superior rigidity, and they feature a sleek semi-gloss black powder coat finish. For an added edge, each nerf bar also goes through an E-coat process, before receiving its black powder coat, to strengthen and protect the final finish against peeling, chipping and scratching. ARIES 3" round side bars are also available in polished stainless steel or semi-gloss black powder-coated steel. All ARIES 3" nerf bars come with heavy-duty steel brackets and non-skid step pads. The mounting b rackets are strong and custom-designed for specific makes and models to allow the side bars to contour to the lines of your vehicle. They offer easy installation and the strength necessary to provide sound footing. These particular custom nerf bars fit specific years of the Ford F150 (see application info to verify fitment). ARIES 3" round side bars also come with non-skid step pads made of tough polypropylene. These step pads feature a textured pattern for enhanced safety, and they cover a wide portion of the tubes for a more comfortable step.

Use one bracket with one cradle facing left and one facing right for each side of the vehicle. The cradles will face inward toward the vehicle. The front brackets are shorter than the rear brackets, so ensure you use the correct bracket at each mounting location.
At the front driver-side mounting location, remove tape and insert two M10 clip nuts into the rectangular hole, aligning them over the adjacent round holes. Place the bracket onto the vehicle and secure the top portion with two M10 hex bolts, lock washers and flat washers. Snug but do not fully tighten. Then secure the bottom of the bracket by inserting two M10 hex bolts and flat washers from underneath, with M10 lock washers, small flat washers and hex nuts on top. Repeat for the rear bracket and passenger side.
Place the driver-side side bar onto the brackets and secure with four M8 bolts, lock washers and flat washers. Snug the hardware but do not fully tighten at this stage. The mounting holes in the bar that are closest to the end of the board should face the front of the vehicle. Repeat on the passenger side.
