These 3" nerf bars are constructed from strong carbon steel for superior rigidity, and they feature a sleek semi-gloss black powder coat finish. For an added edge, each nerf bar also goes through an E-coat process, before receiving its black powder coat, to strengt hen and protect the final finish against peeling, chipping and scratching. ARIES 3" round side bars are also available in polished stainless steel or semi-gloss black powder-coated steel. All ARIES 3" nerf bars come with heavy-duty steel brackets and non-skid step pads. The mounting brackets are strong and custom-designed for specific makes and models to allow the side bars to contour to the lines of your vehicle. They offer easy installation and the strength necessary to provide sound footing. These particular custom nerf bars fit specific years of the Ford F150 (see application info to verify fitment). ARIES 3" round side bars also come with non-skid step pads made of tough polypropylene. These step pads feature a textured pattern for enhanced safety, and they cover a wide portion of the tubes for a more comfortable step.

Yes, part number 203008 and 203008-2 are designed for 1997–2003 Ford F-150/250 LT Duty Super Cab models. The kit includes both 3-door and 4-door versions. Verify your cab style (3-door or 4-door) before installation, as the rear mounting bracket holes and bolt plate size differ between the two.

Yes. You must remove the plastic grommet from the inner rocker panel on the front driver/left side of the vehicle before inserting the double bolt plate into the factory slotted hole. The manual does not specify removal of other factory components.
1. Remove the plastic grommet from the front driver/left rocker panel and insert a large double bolt plate into the factory slotted hole. 2. Attach the driver/left front mounting bracket to the bolt plate using two 10mm bolts, flat washers, lock washers, and nuts; snug but do not fully tighten. 3. For 3-door models, install the small double bolt plate at the rear with plastic retainers; for 4-door models, use a large double bolt plate at the rear. Attach the rear mounting bracket with two 10mm fasteners; snug but do not fully tighten. 4. Position the driver/left sidebar onto the mounting brackets and attach using two 12mm × 60mm hex bolts, 12mm lock washers, and 12mm flat washers; snug but do not fully tighten. 5. Level and adjust the sidebar, then tighten all hardware. 6. Repeat steps 2–4 for the passenger/right sidebar.
Snugging the hardware allows you to position and level the sidebars before final tightening. Once both sidebars are positioned and levelled, all hardware is tightened in step 7. This ensures the sidebars are properly aligned before fasteners are fully secured.
For 3-door models only: Insert the small double bolt plate (without plastic retainer) into the large round hole and back it out through the smaller round hole on the inside of the rocker panel. Thread one plastic retainer partially onto one threaded end of the bolt plate before insertion. After insertion, thread the plastic retainer down the bolt plate until it is flush with the inner rocker panel. Thread the second plastic retainer onto the remaining threaded end of the bolt plate. The plastic retainers prevent the bolt plate from falling into the body. Then attach the rear mounting bracket using two 10mm flat washers, two 10mm lock washers, and two 10mm nuts.
For 3-door models, use the lower holes on the rear mounting bracket. For 4-door models, use the upper holes on the rear mounting bracket. The front mounting bracket holes are the same for both models. Refer to the parts list diagram on page 1 for visual identification of the hole locations.
The manual does not provide torque specifications for any fasteners. Contact Curt Manufacturing or consult a professional installer for the recommended torque values for the 10mm nuts and 12mm hex bolts.
Wax the product after installation and regularly thereafter to add a protective layer over the finish. Do not use any polish or wax containing abrasives, as these can damage the finish. For stainless steel sidebars, aluminum polish may be used to polish small scratches and scuffs, and mild soap may be used for cleaning. For gloss black finishes, use only mild soap for cleaning.
Perform periodic inspections to ensure all hardware is secure and tight. The manual does not specify the inspection interval or which fasteners to check first.
