ARIES 3" side bars are more than a fancy decal for your truck, Jeep or SUV. They are a confident first step on each new adventure. These 3" nerf bars are constructed from strong carbon steel for superior rigidity, and they feature a sleek semi-gloss black powder coat finish. For an added edge, each nerf bar also goes through an E-coat process, before receiving its black powder coat, to strengthen and protect the final finish against peeling, chipping and scratching. ARIES 3" round side bars are also available in polished stainless steel or semi-gloss black powder-coated steel. All ARIES 3" nerf bars come with heavy-duty steel brackets and non-skid step pads. The mounting brackets are strong and custom-designed for specific makes and models to allow the side bars to contour to the lines of your vehicle. They offer easy installation and the strength necessary to provide sound footing. These particular custom nerf bars fit specific years of the Ford F150 (see application info to verify fitment). ARIES 3" round side bars also come with non-skid step pads made of tough polypropylene. These step pads feature a textured pattern for enhanced safety, and they cover a wide portion of the tubes for a more comfortable step.

You will need a ratchet, socket set, torque wrench, wrench set, and level. No power tools, drilling equipment or welding tools are required.
The manual does not specify whether any vehicle components must be removed. The installation involves locating mounting locations along the bottom edge of the vehicle and securing brackets and bars to existing holes. Contact ARIES Automotive at 877-287-8634 for vehicle-specific preparation requirements.
Each side of the vehicle requires one bracket with a left-facing cradle and one with a right-facing cradle. The cradles must be positioned facing inwards towards the center of the vehicle. On the driver side, use one left-facing and one right-facing bracket; repeat this configuration on the passenger side.
At the front mounting location, insert two M10 clip nuts into the rectangular hole and align them over the adjacent round holes. Secure the top of the bracket with two M10 hex bolts, lock washers and flat washers. From the bottom, insert two M10 hex bolts and flat washers, then secure with two M10 lock washers, small flat washers and hex nuts on top. Snug all hardware but do not fully tighten until all fasteners are started. Repeat for the rear bracket.
Place the driver-side bar onto the brackets and secure with four M8 bolts, lock washers and flat washers. The mounting holes closest to the end of the side bar should face the front of the vehicle. Do not tighten hardware until all fasteners have been started. Repeat on the passenger side.
First, snug all hardware without fully tightening until all fasteners have been started. Once the side bar is in position, tighten all brackets to the vehicle first, then tighten the side bar connections to the brackets. Refer to the torque specifications table on page 1 for correct torque values.
M8 bolts should be torqued to 7 ft-lbs.
M10 bolts should be torqued to 16 ft-lbs.
Yes. After securing the brackets to the vehicle with snug fasteners, you can adjust the side bar to the desired location before final tightening. Once positioned correctly, tighten all brackets to the vehicle first, followed by the side bar connections.
Use mild automotive detergent to clean the product. Do not use dish detergent, abrasive cleaners, abrasive pads, wire brushes or similar products that may damage the finish. To protect the product, wax after installing. Regular waxing is recommended to add a protective layer. For polished, gloss and other smooth finishes, polish may be used to clear small scratches and scuffs. Do not use any type of polish or wax that may contain abrasives.
After installation, periodic inspections should be performed to ensure all mounting hardware remains tight. Refer to the maintenance section for care instructions to protect your investment.
