ARIES 3" side bars are more than a fancy decal for your truck, Jeep or SUV. They are a confident first step on each new adventure. These 3" nerf bars are constructed from strong carbon steel for superior rigidity, and they feature a sleek semi-gloss black powder coat finish. For an added edge, each nerf bar also goes through an E-coat process, before receiving its black powder coat, to strengthen and protect the final finish against peeling, chipping and scratching. ARIES 3" round side bars are also available in polished stainless steel or semi-gloss black powder-coated steel. All ARIES 3" nerf bars come with heavy-duty steel brackets and non-skid step pads. The mounting brackets are strong and custom-designed for specific makes and models to allow the side bars to contour to the lines of your vehicle. They offer easy installation and the strength necessary to provide sound footing. These particular custom nerf bars fit specific years of the Chevy Suburban and Suburban 1500 (see application info to verify fitment). ARIES 3" round side bars also come with non-skid step pads made of tough polypropylene. These step pads feature a textured pattern for enhanced safety, and they cover a wide portion of the tubes for a more comfortable step.

The kit includes one left-side sidebar, one right-side sidebar, and one hardware kit. The hardware kit contains: two 12mm × 1.75mm × 120mm hex bolts, six 1/2" flat washers, six 1/2" split lock washers, four 12mm × 50mm hex bolts (Grade 5), two 9/16" × 2.5" × 3/16" zinc-plated spacers, four 3" plastic rings, one left front support bracket, one right front support bracket, one left rear support bracket, and one right rear support bracket.
No. The manual explicitly states that no drilling is required for installation of these sidebars.
Before installation, verify that all components listed in the kit have been received: two sidebars (left and right), and the complete hardware kit containing all bolts, washers, spacers, plastic rings, and support brackets. Compare the received items against the contents list in Step One of the instructions.
For each end of each sidebar, locate one support bracket, one 3" plastic ring, two 1/2" × 2" hex bolts, two 1/2" flat washers, and two 1/2" split lock washers. Secure the bracket and ring to the sidebar using this hardware. Do not fully tighten the hardware at this stage. Repeat this procedure on the other end of the sidebar using the second support bracket.
Remove the rear spring hanger nut. Place the spacer over the spring hanger bolt and position the rear support bracket over the rear spring hanger bolt. Secure the support bracket and spacer to the spring hanger using the factory nut. Do not fully tighten the nut at this time. Important: Do not remove the rear spring hanger bolt itself, as doing so could result in injury or damage to the vehicle.
Remove the front cab mount bolt located under the cab. Position the front support bracket under the front cab mount. Secure the support bracket to the bottom of the cab mount using one spacer, one 12mm hex bolt, two 1/2" flat washers, and one 1/2" split lock washer. Fully tighten all hardware at this time.
Install one sidebar completely first, following Steps Two and Three. Then repeat Steps Two and Three on the opposite side of the vehicle for the second sidebar.
The sidebars have a maximum weight capacity of 300 lb. Do not exceed this limit.
Wax the sidebars after installation to protect the finish. Regular waxing is recommended to add a protective layer over the finish and protect your investment.
