These 3" nerf bars are constructed from strong carbon steel for superior rigidity, and they feature a sleek semi-gloss black powder coat finish. For an added edge, each nerf bar also goes through an E-coat process, before receiving its black powder coat, to strengthen and protect the final finish against peeling, chipping and scratching. ARIES 3" round side bars are also available in polished stainless steel or semi-gloss black powder-coated steel. All ARIES 3" nerf bars come with heavy-duty steel brackets and non-skid step pads. The mounting brackets are strong and custom-designed for specific makes and models to allow the side bars to contour to the lines of your vehicle. They offer easy installation and the strength necessary to provide sound footing. These particular custom nerf bars fit specific years of the Dodge Ram 1500 and 2500 (see application info to verify fitment). ARIES 3" round side bars also come with non-skid step pads made of tough polypropylene. These step pads feature a textured pattern for enhanced safety, and they cover a wide portion of the tubes for a more comfortable step.

You will need a torque wrench capable of tightening to 45 ft·lbs and 29 ft·lbs, and sockets or wrenches to fit M12 and M10 hex head bolts. Support equipment (jack stands or similar) is needed to support and level the side bar during installation.
Yes. Step 1 requires you to remove the body mount bolts from the body mounts underneath the cab of the truck. Do not discard the factory bushings, as they will be reused.
Bolt the mounting brackets to the body mounts using the M12-1.75×120 mm hex head bolts, lock washers, and flat washers. Place a rubber washer between the body mount and bracket to prevent squeaking. Do not fully tighten at this stage.
Fasten the side bar to the brackets using the M12-1.75×50 mm hex head bolts, lock washers, and flat washers as shown in the diagram. Do not fully tighten until after the side bar has been supported and leveled.
After fastening the side bar to the brackets, you must support the side bar (using a jack or similar equipment) and adjust it to be level before final tightening. This ensures proper alignment and fit.
The M12 bolts must be torqued to 45 ft·lbs.
