These 3" nerf bars are constructed from strong carbon steel for superior rigidity, and they feature a sleek semi-gloss black powder coat finish. For an added edge, each nerf bar also goes through an E-coat process, before receiving its black powder coat, to strengthen and protect the final finish against peeling, chipping and scratching. ARIES 3" round side bars are also available in polished stainless steel or semi-gloss black powder-coated steel. All ARIES 3" nerf bars come with heavy-duty steel brackets and non-skid step pads. The mounting brackets are strong and custom-designed for specific makes and models to allow the side bars to contour to the lines of your vehicle. They offer easy installation and the strength necessary to provide sound footing. These particular custom nerf bars fit specific years of the Ram 2500 or 3500 and Dodge Ram 2500 or 3500 (see application info to verify fitment). ARIES 3" round side bars also come with non-skid step pads made of tough polypropylene. These step pads feature a textured pattern for enhanced safety, and they cover a wide portion of the tubes for a more comfortable step.

Install the passenger/right side first, then repeat the same steps for the driver/left side. For each side: (1) install the front mounting bracket to the vehicle, (2) place the T bolt into the frame rail opening, (3) attach the front brace bracket, (4) install the rear mounting bracket, (5) attach the sidebar to both front and rear mounting brackets, (6) install the bolt plate and plastic retainer on the rocker panel, (7) attach the middle brace bracket. Level and align the sidebar before final tightening.
No. The manual instructs you to snug but not tighten hardware during steps 2 through 9. Only after leveling and aligning the sidebar properly should you tighten all hardware. This allows for adjustment before final tightening.
Pull the tape covering the factory hole on the inner rocker panel. Thread the plastic retainer onto the threads of the bolt plate. Place the bolt plate into the hole. Tighten the plastic retainer against the rocker panel so the bolt does not fall in. The middle brace bracket then attaches to this bolt plate.
