The ARIES TrailChaser Jeep bumper is unlike any other bumper for the Jeep Wrangler JK because it features a modular design. With a variety of options to choose from, you can select the perfect configuration to match the style of your Jeep Wrangler. All TrailChaser bumpers are also compatible with a variety of accessories, including LED lights, D-rings, tow hooks and a winch. This particular TrailChaser bumper comes with a center section, corner end caps and round center brush guard. It is constructed from T6 aluminum alloy to be strong, lightweight and rust-free, and has a unique, textured black powder coat finish for maximum corrosion resistance. It is also available in high-strength, powder-coated steel. The bumper center section features a standard 22-1/2" x 7-3/4" winch housing and is compatible with the ARIES winch adapter #2072100 for larger winches. It provides cutouts for lights and has pre-drilled holes for D-rings #2081300 and tow hooks #15600TW. The round tubular brush guard of this bumper not only adds extra style to your Jeep JK, but it also provides additional light mounting points. It features two welded tabs along the center cross-member to readily accept an LED light bar or LED work lights. The bumper corners offer a professional finishing touch with their compact, angular design. They feature the same durable powder coat as the center section and can be drilled or cut to mount additional lights. We also offer an option with these same corners with integrated, flush-mount LED lights. All ARIES TrailChaser bumpers install using pre-existing factory mounting points for fast, easy installation with no drilling required.

Yes. Factory bumper removal is required. The process involves removing four plastic push pins holding the air dam, disconnecting fog light wiring, removing the frame cover fasteners, removing four nuts holding the bumper frame bolts (using an 18mm socket), and carefully lifting the bumper from the frame. The stock fog lights should be removed and reused in the new bumper.
No. Vacuum pump relocation is required only for 2012 models and later. For these vehicles, the vacuum pump on the driver side must be moved to accommodate the new bumper. The rear bolt is loosened and the front bolt is fully removed, then the pump is swung toward the rear of the vehicle and the rear bolt is snugged but not fully tightened.
Yes. For 2012 models and later, the front post bracket that originally held the front post in place must be removed using a cutoff tool to allow clearance for the winch receiver plate. This is a permanent modification. Use the cutoff tool carefully during this step.
Yes. The manual states 'with help' when lifting the bumper into place over the pre-mounted 12mm bolts in the factory bumper mount locations. At least one additional person is recommended for this step.
The manual does not mention drilling as a required step for bumper installation. However, a cutoff tool is required to remove the front post bracket on 2012 models and later. No other cutting, grinding, welding, or bending is mentioned in the installation instructions.
The torque specification for M12 bolts is 58 ft-lbs. This applies to the main bumper mounting bolts. All hardware should be snugged initially but not fully tightened until the bumper is level and properly aligned.
The torque specification for M10 bolts is 33 ft-lbs. M10 bolts are used to attach side extensions and brush guards to the center section.
The torque specification for M6 bolts is 7 ft-lbs. M6 bolts are used for fog light attachment, LED light attachment, and vacuum pump attachment.
The torque specification for M8 bolts is 16 ft-lbs. However, the manual does not specify where M8 bolts are used in the TrailChaser™ bumper installation.
Set the new center section on a flat work surface. Lift the side extension into place and insert an M10 hex bolt (35mm) with a lock washer and flat washer. Secure with a second flat washer and hex nut. Repeat for all three attachment points on each side. Snug the hardware but do not fully tighten. With both extensions loosely installed, check that the bumper corners match up. Adjust if necessary and fully tighten all hardware with a 16mm socket and wrench.

Secure the four LED light attachment points with an M6 socket cap screw, flat washer, and nylock nut at each point. Tighten all hardware. Then set the center section on a flat work surface, lift the side extension into place, and insert an M10 hex bolt (35mm) with lock washer and flat washer. Secure with a second flat washer and hex nut. Repeat for all three attachment points on each side. Snug the hardware but do not fully tighten. If installing side brush guards, attach the two side guards with the provided M10 hex bolts, lock washers, and flat washers. Align and fully tighten the hardware with a 16mm socket. Then finalize the brush guard install by attaching the center brush guard with two M10 hex bolts, lock washers, and flat washers. Ensure the guard(s) are aligned properly and fully tighten the hardware with a 16mm socket. If attaching the center guard only, skip the side guard step.
Insert the fog lights into the new bumper. Each light has three attachment points. Insert an M4 socket cap screw with flat washer and secure with a flat washer and nylock nut. Tighten with a 7mm socket and the provided 3mm Allen wrench. Repeat for the other light. After the bumper is mounted, reattach the fog lights and wire harness to the bumper.
After the bumper is installed, take the vacuum pump and place the threaded bolt through the tab on the bumper. Attach with an M6 nylock nut. This step applies only to 2012 models and later that required vacuum pump relocation.
1. Remove the factory bumper and disconnect fog lights. 2. For 2012+ models, relocate the vacuum pump and remove the front post bracket. 3. Install side extensions (with or without LED lights). 4. Mild automotive detergent may be used to clean the product. Do not use dish detergent, abrasive cleaners, abrasive pads, wire brushes, or other similar products that may damage the finish.
Periodic inspections should be performed to ensure all mounting hardware remains tight. The manual does not specify an exact interval, but regular checks are recommended to maintain proper installation and safety.
The installation difficulty level is rated as Moderate. The manual recommends reading all instructions thoroughly before beginning and notes that proper tools will improve the quality of installation and reduce the time required.
