The ARIES TrailChaser Jeep bumper is unlike any other bumper for the Jeep Wrangler JK because it features a modular design. With a variety of options to choose from, you can select the perfect configuration to match the style of your Jeep Wrangler. All TrailChaser bumpers are also compatible with a variety of accessories, including LED lights, D-rings, tow hooks and a winch. This particular TrailChaser bumper comes with a center section, corner end caps and angular center brush guard. It is constructed from T6 aluminum alloy to be strong, lightweight and rust-free, and has a unique, textured black powder coat finish for maximum corrosion resistance. It is also available in high-strength, powder-coated steel. The bumper center section features a standard 22-1/2" x 7-3/4" winch housing and is compatible with the ARIES winch adapter #2072100 for larger winches. It provides cutouts for lights and has pre-drilled holes for D-rings #2081300 and tow hooks #15600TW. The stinger-style angular brush guard of this bumper not only adds an aggressive look to your Jeep JK, but it also provides additional mounting points for an LED light bar or LED work lights. It features a full-length, slotted channel along the center cross-member, allowing lights to be mounted on the top or bottom. The bumper corners offer a professional finishing touch with their compact, angular design. They feature the same durable powder coat as the center section and can be drilled or cut to mount additional lights. We also offer an option with these same corners with integrated, flush-mount LED lights. All ARIES TrailChaser bumpers install using pre-existing factory mounting points for fast, easy installation with no drilling required.

The center section includes: 1 TrailChaser™ center section, 6 button head bolts (M4), 6 Nylock nuts (M4), 4 flat washers (M4), 2 hex bolts (M6 x 20mm), 2 flat washers (M6), 3 Nylock nuts (M6), 8 hex bolts (M12 x 40mm), 16 flat washers (M12 x 24mm), 8 lock washers (M12), 8 nuts (M12), and 1 Allen wrench (3mm). The manual confirms TrailChaser™ bumpers are designed for Jeep vehicles, with specific mention of 2012 models and later requiring vacuum pump relocation. However, the manual does not provide a complete list of compatible vehicle years or models. ARIES offers both aluminum and steel versions of each TrailChaser™ kit configuration. Aluminum versions are identified by part numbers ending in odd digits (2082020, 2082023, 2082059, etc.), while steel versions end in even digits (2082030, 2082032, 2082040, etc.). Both are finished with a textured black powder coat. The manual does not specify differences in weight, durability, or cost between the two materials.
LED light inclusion depends on your kit configuration. Some kits include LED lights (marked 'Included' in the configuration table), while others do not. Kits with part numbers 2082046, 2082058, 2082043, and 2082056 include LED lights. Other configurations list 'Not included' or 'Not compatible'. Check your kit's configuration table on pages 2–3 to confirm whether LED lights are included with your purchase.
Two brush guard styles are available: Angular (part numbers 2081101 for aluminum, 2081100 for steel) and Round (part numbers 2081254 and 2081250 for aluminum, 2081255 and 2081252 for steel). Some kits include guards only for the center section, while others include center and side guards. Check your kit's configuration on pages 2–3 to see which guards are included. Some kit configurations are not compatible with guards.
Required tools are: ratchet, Phillips screwdriver, socket extension, flathead screwdriver, socket set, Allen wrench set, cut-off tool, box wrench set, and level. Specific socket sizes needed include 7mm, 10mm, 16mm, and 18mm. The manual rates installation difficulty as Moderate.
Yes. Factory bumper removal is required and is detailed in Section 1 of the manual. The process involves removing the air dam, disconnecting fog light wiring, removing the frame cover, and unbolting the bumper from the frame using an 18mm socket. The factory fog lights must be removed and reinstalled in the new TrailChaser™ bumper.
Yes. The manual states 'With help, lift the bumper into place' in Step 4 of the bumper installation, indicating that at least two people are recommended to safely lift and position the bumper.
No. Vacuum pump relocation is required only for 2012 models and later. The manual states: 'For 2012 models and later, you will see a vacuum pump on the driver side. This will need to move to accommodate the new bumper.' Earlier model years do not require this step.
Yes. A cut-off tool is required to remove the front post bracket from the factory bumper mount location. The manual states: 'Using a cutoff tool, carefully remove the front post bracket.' This modification is necessary to allow clearance for the winch receiver plate and is required for 2012 models and later.
Torque specifications are: M6 bolt = 7 ft-lbs, M8 bolt = 16 ft-lbs, M10 bolt = 33 ft-lbs, M12 bolt = 58 ft-lbs. Use these settings unless otherwise noted in the installation steps. The manual does not provide a specific torque value for M10 bolts in the main table, but M10 bolts are used throughout the installation.
For side extensions without LEDs: (1) Set the center section on a flat work surface. (2) Lift the side extension into place and insert an M10 hex bolt (35mm) with locking and flat washers, secured with a hex nut at each of three attachment points. (3) Snug all hardware but do not tighten. (4) Repeat on the opposite side. (5) Check that bumper corners match up and adjust if necessary. (6) Fully tighten all hardware with a 16mm socket and wrench. For side extensions with LEDs, attach the LED lights to the extension first using M6 socket cap screws, flat washers, and Nylock nuts before attaching the extension to the center section.
LED work lights (part number 1501250) are installed before attaching the side extension to the center section. (1) Set the side extension on a flat work surface. (2) Insert the rubber gasket and LED light into place. (3) Secure the four LED light attachment points with an M6 socket cap screw, flat washer, and Nylock nut at each point. (4) Tighten all hardware. (5) Repeat for the other side extension. (6) Then attach the side extension to the center section using M10 hex bolts.
Angular brush guard installation has two steps: (1) Place the cover plate on top of the brush guard. Insert an M6 button head cap screw with flat washer and secure with a Nylock nut. Repeat for all six attachment points. Adjust if necessary and fully tighten all hardware with an Allen wrench. (2) Place the center section on a flat work surface. Lift the brush guard into place and insert an M10 hex bolt (25mm) with locking and flat washer. Secure with a second flat washer and hex nut. Repeat for all four attachment points. Adjust if necessary and fully tighten all hardware with a 16mm socket and wrench.
Round brush guard installation depends on configuration: (1) If installing side brush guards, attach the two side guards with M10 hex bolts (35mm), lock washers, and flat washers. Align and fully tighten with a 16mm socket. (2) Finalize the installation by attaching the center brush guard with two M10 hex bolts (35mm), lock washers, and flat washers. Ensure the guard(s) are aligned properly and fully tighten with a 16mm socket. If attaching the center guard only, skip the side guard step.
Fog lights are reinstalled after the bumper is lifted into place. (1) Insert the fog lights into the new bumper. Each light has three attachment points. (2) Insert an M4 socket cap screw with flat washer at each point. (3) Secure with a flat washer and Nylock nut. (4) Tighten with a 7mm socket and the provided 3mm Allen wrench. (5) Repeat for the other light. (6) After all bumper bolts are snugged, reattach the fog lights and wire harness to the bumper.
For 2012 models and later: (1) Locate the vacuum pump on the driver side. (2) Using a 10mm socket, loosen the rear bolt and fully remove the front bolt. (3) Swing the vacuum pump toward the rear of the vehicle. (4) Snug the rear bolt, but do not fully tighten. (5) After the bumper is installed, place the threaded bolt through the tab on the bumper and attach with an M6 Nylock nut.
Bumper mounting requires: (1) With help, lift the bumper into place over the pre-mounted 12mm bolts in the factory bumper mount locations. (2) Insert an M12 hex bolt (40mm) with flat washer behind the bumper bracket and secure with a flat and lock washer and hex nut. Depending on the Jeep year, there may be as few as two mounting points or as many as three per side. (3) Snug all hardware at this time, but do not fully tighten. (4) Check that the bumper is level using a level tool. (5) Adjust if necessary and fully tighten all hardware. If a winch receiver plate bracket was not installed, the included M12 bolts will be installed at this stage.
After installation, wax the bumper to protect the finish. Regular waxing is recommended to add a protective layer. Do not use any polish or wax containing abrasives, as these can damage the finish. For polished, gloss, and other smooth finishes, polish may be used to clear small scratches and scuffs. Clean with mild automotive detergent only; do not use dish detergent, abrasive cleaners, abrasive pads, wire brushes, or similar products that may damage the finish. Periodic inspections should be performed to ensure all mounting hardware remains tight.
After all hardware is snugged but before final tightening: (1) Use a level to check that the bumper is level. (2) Adjust the bumper position if necessary. (3) Verify that bumper corners match up properly (especially important when installing side extensions). (4) Once alignment is confirmed, fully tighten all hardware. (5) After installation is complete, perform periodic inspections to ensure all mounting hardware remains tight.
