ARIES 3" side bars are more than a fancy decal for your truck, Jeep or SUV. They are a confident first step on each new adventure. These 3" nerf bars are constructed from strong carbon steel for superior rigidity, and they feature a sleek semi-gloss black powder coat finish. For an added edge, each nerf bar also goes through an E-coat process, before receiving its black powder coat, to strengthen and protect the final finish against peeling, chipping and scratching. ARIES 3" round side bars are also available in polished stainless steel or semi-gloss black powder-coated steel. All ARIES 3" nerf bars come with heavy-duty steel brackets and non-skid step pads. The mounting brackets are strong and custom-designed for specific makes and models to allow the side bars to contour to the lines of your vehicle. They offer easy installation and the strength necessary to provide sound footing. These particular custom nerf bars fit specific years of the Nissan Frontier and Suzuki Equator (see application info to verify fitment). ARIES 3" round side bars also come with non-skid step pads made of tough polypropylene. These step pads feature a textured pattern for enhanced safety, and they cover a wide portion of the tubes for a more comfortable step.

The factory running boards or side steps must be removed before installing the Sidebar. They are removed by unbolting the hex nuts holding the mounting brackets to the inside of the body.
The kit includes: 1 driver/left side bar, 1 passenger/right side bar, 3 driver/left side mounting brackets, 3 passenger/right side mounting brackets, 12 8-1.25mm x 25mm combo bolts, 12 8 x 24mm OD x 2mm flat washers, 12 8mm lock washers, and 12 8-1.25mm hex nuts.
Yes. If your vehicle is equipped with factory running boards or side steps, they must be removed first by unbolting the hex nuts holding the mounting brackets to the inside of the body.
Three mounting brackets are used per side: one at the front, one at the center, and one at the rear. Each side bar is attached to these three brackets.
The slots in the top of the mounting brackets are offset. The manual includes an illustration showing the correct orientation for driver and passenger side brackets. Use the illustration to select the proper mounting bracket for each location.
No. Do not tighten fasteners when first attaching the mounting brackets or the sidebar to the brackets. Leave all hardware loose until after you have leveled and adjusted the sidebars to your desired position, then tighten all hardware.
After placing the driver sidebar onto the three mounting brackets and attaching it with the combo bolts (left loose), carefully level and adjust the sidebar as desired. Once positioned correctly, tighten all hardware. Repeat the same process for the passenger side.
Each front, center, and rear mounting bracket is attached using 2 8-1.25mm x 25mm combo bolts, 2 8 x 24mm OD x 2mm flat washers, 2 8mm lock washers, and 2 8-1.25mm hex nuts.
The sidebar is attached to the three mounting brackets on each side using 6 8-1.25mm x 25mm combo bolts total (2 per bracket). These are tightened after leveling and adjusting the sidebar.
Wax the sidebar after installing to protect the finish. Regular waxing is recommended to add a protective layer. Do not use polish or wax containing abrasives, as these can damage the finish. For stainless steel, aluminum polish may be used on small scratches and scuffs, and mild soap may be used for cleaning. For gloss black finishes, use mild soap only for cleaning.
Perform periodic inspections to ensure all hardware is secure and tight. Check that the sidebar is level and properly positioned before and after initial use.
