ARIES 3" side bars are more than a fancy decal for your truck, Jeep or SUV. They are a confident first step on each new adventure. These 3" nerf bars are constructed from strong carbon steel for superior rigidity, and they feature a sleek semi-gloss black powder coat finish. For an added edge, each nerf bar also goes through an E-coat process, before receiving its black powder coat, to strengthen and protect the final finish against peeling, chipping and scratching. ARIES 3" round side bars are also available in polished stainless steel or semi-gloss black powder-coated steel. All ARIES 3" nerf bars come with heavy-duty steel brackets and non-skid step pads. The mounting brackets are strong and custom-designed for specific makes and models to allow the side bars to contour to the lines of your vehicle. They offer easy installation and the strength necessary to provide sound footing. These particular custom nerf bars fit specific years of the Ford F150 and Lincoln Mark LT (see application info to verify fitment). ARIES 3" round side bars also come with non-skid step pads made of tough polypropylene. These step pads feature a textured pattern for enhanced safety, and they cover a wide portion of the tubes for a more comfortable step.

The kit includes 1 driver-side bar, 1 passenger-side bar, 2 front mounting brackets, 2 rear mounting brackets, 8 M10 clip-on nuts, 16 M10 lock washers, 16 M10 flat washers (24mm), 8 M10 nuts, 16 M10 hex bolts (35mm), 8 M10 flat washers (20mm), 8 M8 hex bolts (25mm), 8 M8 lock washers, and 8 M8 flat washers (24mm).
You will need a ratchet, tape measure, 13mm socket, 16mm wrench, 16mm socket, 6mm hex bit, and a level.
Wax the product after installing to protect it. Regular waxing is recommended to add a protective layer over the finish. Do not use any type of polish or wax that may contain abrasives, as these could damage the finish. For gloss black finishes, mild soap may be used to clean the product.
There are three mounting locations along the rocker panel. The installation uses the front and rear mounting locations only. The mounting brackets are specific to front or rear positions, so ensure you use the correct bracket type for each location.
Starting at the front of the driver side, remove the factory tape covering the mounting holes on the rocker panel. This exposes the mounting locations where the clip-nuts will be inserted.
When mounting the brackets, the cradle must face toward the middle of the truck for proper placement. Front and rear brackets are specific to their mounting locations and must not be interchanged.
1. Insert an M10 clip-nut onto each mounting location on the inner rocker panel. 2. Attach the top of the bracket by threading two M10 hex bolts with lock washers and large flat washers into the clip-nuts. 3. Insert an M10 hex bolt and large flat washer into the bottom mounting holes and secure with a small M10 flat washer, lock washer, and nut. 4. Snug all hardware but do not fully tighten at this stage.
The measurement from the end of the side bar to the center of the rivet nut should be about 15 1/2". Use this measurement to determine which end is the front before mounting the bar into place.
The side bar is attached to the mounting bracket using M8 bolts, M8 lock washers, and M8 flat washers. These should be snugged but not fully tightened until the bar is leveled and adjusted to the desired position.
All hardware should be snugged but left loose during the initial installation steps. Only after the side bars are leveled and adjusted to the desired position should all hardware be fully tightened.
M8 bolts should be torqued to 7 ft.-lbs.
M10 bolts should be torqued to 16 ft.-lbs.
Periodic inspections should be performed to ensure all mounting hardware remains tight. The manual does not specify the inspection interval, but regular checks are recommended to maintain the integrity of the installation.
