ARIES 3" side bars add a custom look and dependable footing to your truck, Jeep or SUV. They feature a classic style, a strong design and non-skid step pads. ARIES nerf bars are all made vehicle-specific for a custom, no-drill fit, and they are available in multiple finish options. This set of nerf bars is constructed from 304 stainless steel with a polished finish. Our 304 stainless steel is a true stainless with high nickel content, offering better corrosion resistance and a long-lasting finish. The polish is a triple application, resulting in a mirror-like shine to complement your vehicle. ARIES 3" round side bars also come with high-strength steel brackets and non-skid step pads. The mounting brackets -- as well as the side bars and step pads -- are custom-designed for specific makes and models to allow the nerf bars to contour to the lines of your vehicle. This ensures easy, no-drill installation and the strength necessary to provide solid footing. This particular set of custom nerf bars fits specific years of the Chevrolet Silverado 1500 and GMC Sierra 1500 extended cab (see application info to verify fitment). ARIES 3" round side bars also come with non-skid step pads made of polypropylene. These wide, custom-positioned step pads feature a textured pattern and cover a wide portion of the tubes to be more comfortable and high-traction, even in wet conditions.

The kit includes: 2 oval side bars (driver/left and passenger/right, 3" diameter), 4 mounting brackets (2 front, 2 rear), 2 center support brackets, 4 hex bolts (1/2" x 2"), 4 lock washers (1/2"), 6 flat washers (1/2"), 4 large flat washers (1/2" x 1-1/2" OD x 1/8"), and 2 combo bolts (8mm x 25mm).
You will need: a ratchet, torque wrench, socket set, level, and socket extension.
Yes, assistance is recommended. The manual states "ASSISTANCE IS RECOMMENDED" before beginning installation.
Yes. You will remove the factory body bolts at three mounting locations (front, center, and rear) and reuse them to attach the mounting brackets. The factory body bolt is reused with a washer between the body mount and the bracket.
Install the passenger/right side first, then repeat for the driver/left side. For each side: (1) attach the front bracket using the factory body bolt, (2) attach the center support bracket using the factory body bolt, (3) attach the rear bracket using the factory body bolt, (4) attach the sidebar to the front bracket with a 1/2" hex bolt, lock washer, and flat washer (snug but do not tighten), (5) attach the sidebar to the rear bracket with the same hardware, (6) attach the center support bracket to the sidebar with an 8mm combo bolt (do not tighten), (7) level and adjust the sidebar, then fully tighten all hardware.
No. When attaching the sidebar to the front and rear brackets, snug the hardware but do not tighten it at this time. Similarly, do not tighten the center support bracket hardware. Only after leveling and adjusting the sidebar should you fully tighten all hardware.

Each connection uses one 1/2" x 2" hex bolt, one 1/2" lock washer, and one 1/2" flat washer.
One 8mm combo bolt (8mm x 25mm) is used to attach the center support bracket to the sidebar.
After attaching the sidebar to the front, center, and rear brackets with snug (but not fully tightened) hardware, use a level to check the sidebar position. Adjust the sidebar as necessary, then fully tighten all hardware once it is level.
Wax the product after installing to protect it. Regular waxing is recommended to add a protective layer over the finish. Do not use polish or wax containing abrasives, as these may damage the finish. For polished, gloss, and other smooth finishes, polish may be used to clear small scratches and scuffs. Clean with mild automotive detergent only. Do not use dish detergent, abrasive cleaners, abrasive pads, wire brushes, or similar products that may damage the finish.
