For those who eat, sleep and breathe off-roading, ARIES fender flares show off your off-road tires better than factory flares, and they feature strong, lightweight aluminum construction to easily stand up to the elements. These front inner fender liners are designed to mount with ARIES Jeep JL fender flares and provide ultimate protection for your engine compartment against mud, water and road debris. ARIES Jeep inner fender liners are constructed from welded aluminum to not only be lightweight and rust-free, but also to offer better strength than the plastic factory fender liners. They are also covered in a highly durable carbide black powder coat finish for maximum corrosion protection. ARIES front fender liners install securely in conjunction with ARIES fender flares and include all necessary hardware for a complete installation (some drilling and rivet nut installation required). Jeep fender liners are also available for the rear or in a complete kit for the front and rear.

You will need a ratchet, wrench set, socket set, drill, panel trim removal tool, drill bit (25/64" or 10mm), Allen wrench, and thread-set tool. The thread-set tool is included in the kit. Proper tools will improve installation quality and reduce time required.
The manual recommends that assistance may be required to hold the inner fender liner and outer fender flare in place while fasteners are started (Steps 12 and 15). While one person may be able to complete the installation, having a second person will make the process easier, especially when aligning and securing components.
The installation sequence is: (1) remove factory inner fender wells and retainers; (2) disconnect side marker light; (3) remove factory fender flare; (4) position new inner liner and mark drilling locations; (5) drill 25/64" or 10mm holes; (6) install rivet nuts using thread-set tool; (7) install Z-hanger and L-hanger brackets; (8) route side marker light wiring if used; (9) mount inner liner to brackets with snug fasteners; (10) install outer fender flare with snug fasteners; (11) fully tighten all hardware to torque specifications; (12) repeat on passenger side. See Steps 1–16 for detailed instructions.
Yes, drilling is required. You must drill 25/64" or 10mm holes in the vehicle's inner fender panel to accommodate the M6 rivet nuts that secure the new inner liner. Do not make holes larger than required or the rivet nuts may fail to install. The drill bit is not included; you must provide your own.
Drill 25/64" or 10mm holes to fit the M6 threaded metal inserts (rivet nuts) supplied with the fender liners. Do not make the holes larger than required or the rivet nuts may fail to install.
M6 bolts must be torqued to 3 ft-lbs. This applies to all M6 fasteners used to secure the inner liner to the brackets and outer fender flare.
M8 bolts must be torqued to 7 ft-lbs. This applies to the M8 hex bolts used to secure the inner liner to the frame spacer.
If your Jeep has a side marker light, you must disconnect it from the factory harness before removing the original inner fender liner (Step 3). The wiring harness must be routed and reconnected before the new inner fender liner is installed (Step 12). If no side marker light is used, this step is not necessary.
Do not use any type of polish or wax that may contain abrasives, as these could damage the finish. Do not use dish detergent, abrasive cleaners, abrasive pads, wire brushes or similar products. Use only mild automotive detergent for cleaning. Regular waxing with non-abrasive wax is recommended to add a protective layer.

Yes. You must drill 25/64" or 10mm holes in the inner fender panel for the M6 rivet nuts. Do not make holes larger than required.
M6 bolts: 3 ft-lbs. M8 bolts: 7 ft-lbs. Torque all hardware after snugging fasteners in place.

Wax after installation using non-abrasive wax. Clean with mild automotive detergent only. Do not use abrasive cleaners, wire brushes, or abrasive wax. Perform periodic inspections to ensure hardware remains tight.
The most common cause is holes that are too large. The manual states: 'Do not make the holes larger than required or the rivet nuts may fail to install.' Verify that you drilled 25/64" or 10mm holes as specified. If holes are oversized, the rivet nut will not seat properly. Drill new holes at the correct size in a different location if necessary, or contact ARIES Automotive at 877.287.8634 for replacement rivet nuts.
Over-tightening the rivet nut can damage the thread-set tool and vehicle panel. The manual cautions: 'Only compress the rivet nut enough to seat it in the hole without rotating.' If the tool is damaged, stop installation and contact ARIES Automotive at 877.287.8634. Do not attempt to use a damaged tool, as it may cause further damage to the vehicle.
