For the conqueror in every truck, Jeep or SUV owner, the ARIES grille guard offers the tough, trail-ready look you demand. It begins with a one-piece frame of 1/4" thick welded plates and 1-1/2" mandrel-bent tubing for a solid build. Each one is made with a vehicle-specific design for a better fit, easier install and more secure mounting. The side brush guards are custom-bent to contour to the profile of your vehicle, while the mounting brackets are positioned for a no-drill application. This means pre-existing factory holes are used to ensure optimum fitment and less vibration. This particular custom grille guard fits specific years of the Chevy Silverado 1500 (see application info to verify). The ARIES grille guard also makes it easy to customize the look of your vehicle. Not only does the crossbar have two pre-drilled holes for mounting aftermarket LED lights, but many of our grille guards are also available in two finish options -- polished stainless steel or semi-gloss black steel. The stainless steel grille guard is made with 304 stainless, being high in nickel content and truly resistant to rust and corrosion. This option comes with a mirror-like polished finish for a definitive shine. The semi-gloss black grille guard is made with high-strength carbon steel for added strength. It features a tough black powder coat finish to protect against rust, scratches and the elements. All ARIES grille guards also come with rubber stripping along the risers to protect the frame against scuffs and scratches.

The ARIES Polished Stainless Grille Guard, Select Chevrolet Silverado 1500 Grille Guard (Part #BBDR4091-2) fits 2014-2018 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 models. The 2019 model year is the last year covered by this part number. For newer models, check for an updated version.
The ARIES Polished Stainless Grille Guard, Select Chevrolet Silverado 1500 Grille Guard (Part #BBDR4091-2) Refer to the included instructions for installation details. Basic hand tools are typically all you need.
Yes, the Curt 4091/4091-2 Grille Guard is designed for 2014-17 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 models. The installation includes year-specific Top Brackets: separate brackets are provided for 2014-15 models and 2016-17 models, so you must select the correct bracket set for your vehicle year.
The installation instructions state that installation may interfere with front mounted sensors. If your vehicle is equipped with sensors, you should verify compatibility before installation or consult with the manufacturer regarding sensor placement and potential interference.
No. The instructions explicitly state that tow hooks cannot be reinstalled with the Grille Guard. If your vehicle is equipped with factory tow hooks, they must be removed and cannot be reused once the Grille Guard is installed.
The kit includes: 1 Grille Guard Assembly, 2 Frame Brackets, 1 Driver/Left and 1 Passenger/Right Mounting Bracket, year-specific Top Brackets (separate sets for 2014-15 and 2016-17), 2 Double Bolt Plates (12-1.75mm x 30mm), 2 Single Bolt Plates (12-1.75mm x 35mm), 6 each of 10-1.50mm x 30mm and 8-1.25mm x 30mm Hex Bolts, 6 each of 12-1.75mm Hex Nuts and 10-1.50mm Hex Nuts, 12 each of 10mm x 27mm OD and 8mm x 16mm OD Flat Washers, 6 each of 12mm x 24mm OD, 10mm, and 8mm Lock Washers, and 2 pieces of 50mm x 250mm Adhesive Backed Foam Tape.
No additional hardware is required beyond what is included in the kit. However, you will reuse the factory bumper bolt hardware to attach the Top Bracket to the upper bumper.
Professional installation is not required, but assistance is highly recommended. The instructions state 'Assistance is highly recommended' at the beginning of the procedure, indicating that a second person should be present to help, particularly when holding the Grille Guard in position during installation.
You must remove: (1) the plastic cover between the top of the radiator and the grille, (2) the hardware attaching the grille at the top and bottom, (3) on 2014-15 models, the plastic body panel (fascia) on top of the bumper between the bottom of the grille and the top of the bumper, and (4) the grille itself. If your vehicle has factory tow hooks, they must also be removed.
Cutting may be required. On vehicles without factory tow hooks, you must cut out the indented area in both sides of the plastic bumper insert to clear the Brackets. The instructions recommend making several small cuts for best fit and warn not to cut through the top edge of the panel.
No drilling is required. The installation uses existing frame holes that were originally designed for factory tow hooks. The Frame Brackets line up with the holes in the end of the frame.
The sequence is: (1) Remove the radiator cover and grille, (2) Remove factory tow hooks if equipped or cut bumper indents if not, (3) Install Top Brackets to upper bumper using factory hardware (left loose), (4) Install Frame Brackets to frame using Double and Single Bolt Plates (left loose), (5) Install Mounting Brackets to Frame Brackets (left loose), (6) Attach Grille Guard to Mounting Brackets (left loose), (7) Check alignment and tighten Frame Bracket hardware, (8) Level and adjust the Grille Guard and fully tighten all hardware, (9) Reinstall grille and top plastic cover.
Leaving hardware loose during assembly allows you to adjust the Grille Guard alignment with the vehicle before final tightening. After checking alignment in Step 10, tighten the Frame Bracket hardware first. Then in Step 11, level and adjust the Grille Guard and fully tighten all remaining hardware.
No, you do not need to remove the bumper. If your vehicle has factory tow hooks, you only need to loosen the bumper hardware enough to rotate the bumper to remove the long hex bolts from the tow hooks.
The Adhesive Backed Foam Tape is applied to the backside of the Top Bracket to protect the finish on the bumper during installation. A layer should be applied before bolting the Top Bracket to the upper bumper.
Yes. The instructions state that to prevent the Top Brackets from damaging the finish on the vehicle during installation, you should cover the top of the bumper with removable tape (masking tape) before installing the Top Brackets.
The kit includes separate Top Brackets for different model years. For 2014-15 models, use the 2014-15 Driver/Left Top Bracket and 2014-15 Passenger/Right Top Bracket. For 2016-17 models, use the 2016-17 Driver/Left Top Bracket and 2016-17 Passenger/Right Top Bracket. Select the correct set based on your vehicle's year before installation.
The Top Bracket is bolted to the upper bumper using the factory bumper bolt hardware (the existing bolts that originally held the grille). These factory fasteners are reused for this connection.
The Frame Bracket is secured to the frame using: (1) a 12mm Double Bolt Plate with 2 each of 12mm Flat Washers, 12mm Lock Washers, and 12mm Hex Nuts, and (2) a 12mm Single Bolt Plate with 1 each of 12mm Flat Washer, 12mm Lock Washer, and 12mm Hex Nut.
The Mounting Bracket is bolted to the bottom of the Frame Bracket using 3 each of 8mm x 30mm Hex Bolts, 8mm Lock Washers, and 8mm Flat Washers.
The Grille Guard is bolted to the Mounting Brackets using 6 each of 10mm x 30mm Hex Bolts, 10mm Flat Washers (12 total), 10mm Lock Washers, and 10mm Hex Nuts.
Yes. Step 9 states 'With assistance, hold the Grille Guard up in position on the outside of the Mounting Brackets,' indicating that a second person is needed to support the Grille Guard while it is being bolted to the Mounting Brackets.
After installation, verify that the Grille Guard is properly aligned with the vehicle. The instructions also recommend doing periodic inspections to ensure that all hardware is secure and tight.
To protect your investment, wax the product after installing. Regular waxing is recommended to add a protective layer over the finish. Do not use any type of polish or wax that may contain abrasives that could damage the finish. For stainless steel, aluminum polish may be used to polish small scratches and scuffs, and mild soap may be used to clean it. For gloss black finishes, use only mild soap to clean the Grille Guard.
Yes, the Curt 4091/4091-2 is designed for 2014-17 Silverado 1500 models. Note that tow hooks cannot be reinstalled once the Grille Guard is installed, and installation may interfere with front-mounted sensors.
Cutting may be required. On vehicles without factory tow hooks, you must cut out the indented area in both sides of the plastic bumper insert. Make several small cuts for best fit and do not cut through the top edge of the panel.
Professional installation is not required, but assistance from a second person is highly recommended. No special lifting equipment is mentioned in the instructions.
You must remove the plastic cover between the radiator and grille, the grille itself, and the grille hardware. On 2014-15 models, also remove the plastic fascia panel on top of the bumper. If equipped with factory tow hooks, they must be removed.
The kit includes all fasteners needed: 12mm and 10mm hex bolts and nuts, 8mm hex bolts, lock washers, flat washers, Double and Single Bolt Plates, and Adhesive Backed Foam Tape. You will reuse factory bumper bolts for the Top Bracket installation.
Wax the product after installing and regularly thereafter. Do not use polish or wax containing abrasives. For stainless steel, aluminum polish may be used on scratches; for gloss black, use only mild soap.
