ARIES 4" oval side bars are sleek, strong and custom-fitted to be a highly functional extension of your truck. ARIES 4" oval side bars are made with strong 4" elliptical tubing and are available in two different finish options to allow you full customization: polished stainless steel and black powder coat carbon steel. This set of side bars is constructed from 304 stainless steel, meaning high nickel content to be truly stainless. They easily resist rust and corrosion and feature a highly polished finish that is made to last. Something that sets the ARIES 4" oval side bar apart from all others is its blended end caps and OE-style bends. Rather than capping our side bars with a plastic cap, we offer a blended end cap for a smooth, finished appearance. We also equip the ends with a special 20-degree bend and original equipment styling to perfectly contour to your vehicle. ARIES 4" oval side bars are fitted with raised step pads to provide a wide stepping surface. The polypropylene construction will not crack over time, and because it has a textured grip, the surface is highly resistant to slips and skids, even when wet. To add an extra element of class to our oval sides, we also fit each one with a stainless steel insignia bearing the ARIES name. Installation of ARIES 4" oval side bars is quick and easy with custom-fitted mounting brackets and no drilling necessary. These nerf bars fit select model years of the Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra 1500, 2500 HD, 2500 HD Classic, 3500 HD and 3500 Classic (see application info to verify fitment).

Yes. Step 2 of the installation procedure requires you to remove the front, center, and rear body mount bolts from the underside of the vehicle. However, do not remove the bushings. The factory bolts are then partially reinstalled to hang the mounting brackets in position during installation.
1. Remove and verify all parts. 2. Remove factory body mount bolts from underside (do not remove bushings). 3. Hang driver side front, center, and rear mounting brackets by partially threading factory bolts back in. 4. Install driver side front support bracket using nut plates and frame holes. 5. Install center support bracket. 6. Install middle support bracket using bolt tabs. 7. Position and attach driver side bar to all mounting brackets. 8. Level and adjust driver side bar, then fully tighten all hardware. 9. Repeat steps 2-8 for passenger side. 10. Perform periodic inspections to ensure all hardware remains secure.
Do not tighten fasteners as you install each component. The manual specifies "Do not tighten at this time" for the front support bracket, center support bracket, middle support bracket, and side bar attachment points. Only after the driver side bar is positioned and leveled should you tighten all hardware. This allows proper alignment and adjustment before final tightening.
Locate the two factory holes in the bottom of the frame towards the front of the vehicle. Insert one nut plate through the oval hole and orient it towards the front round hole. The nut plate is then used to attach the front support bracket by threading an M10 x 30mm hex bolt, M10 lock washer, and M10 flat washer through it.
This is normal. The manual notes that the support bracket will not reach the mounting bracket initially. First, tighten the support bracket to the nut plate in the frame. Then carefully push up on the support bracket until it reaches the inside hole in the mounting bracket, and attach it using the specified fasteners.

Secure the driver side middle support bracket to the bolt tab using an M10 hex nut, M10 lock washer, and M10 flat washer. Each side bar is attached to its mounting brackets using 6 M10 x 30mm hex bolts, 6 M10 lock washers, and 6 M10 flat washers. These fasteners are not tightened until the side bar is positioned and leveled.
The torque specification for M10 bolts is 16 ft.-lbs. This applies to all M10 fasteners used throughout the installation, including those securing the support brackets, mounting brackets, and side bars.
