ARIES 4" oval side bars are sleek, strong and custom-fitted to be a highly functional extension of your truck. ARIES 4" oval side bars are made with strong 4" elliptical tubing and are available in two different finish options to allow you full customization. This set of side bars is constructed from 304 stainless steel, meaning high nickel content to be truly stainless. They easily resist rust and corrosion and feature a highly polished finish that is made to last. Something that sets the ARIES 4" oval side bar apart from all others is its blended end caps and OE-style bends. Rather than capping our side bars with a plastic cap, we offer a blended end cap for a smooth, finished appearance. We also equip the ends with a special 20-degree bend and original equipment styling to perfectly contour to your vehicle. ARIES 4" oval side bars are fitted with raised step pads to provide a wide stepping surface. The polypropylene construction will not crack over time, and because it has a textured grip, the surface is highly resistant to slips and skids, even when wet. To add an extra element of class to our oval sides, we also fit each one with a stainless steel insignia bearing the ARIES name. Installation of ARIES 4" oval side bars is quick and easy with custom-fitted mounting brackets and no drilling necessary (NOTE: This set of side bars is compatible with DEF tank models). These nerf bars fit select model years of the Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra 1500, 1500 Classic, 1500 LD, 2500 HD, 2500 HD Classic, 3500 HD and 3500 Classic (see application info to verify fitment).

The kit includes: 1 driver/left side bar, 1 passenger/right side bar, 4 universal mounting brackets, 2 passenger/right front upper mounting brackets, 2 passenger/right front lower mounting brackets, 10 M8 clip nuts, 10 M8 hex bolts (25mm), 10 M8 flat washers, 10 M8 lock washers, 14 M10 hex bolts (30mm), 14 M10 flat washers, and 14 M10 lock washers.
You will need: a ratchet, 16mm socket, 16mm wrench, 13mm socket, and a level. The level is recommended for aligning the side bars during installation.
The product can be installed on vehicles with a DEF tank, but with a limitation: if a DEF tank is present, you will not be able to insert the M8 hardware on the front upper bracket on the passenger side. The installation process is otherwise the same.
The installation uses the first, third, and fifth mounting tabs along the bottom edge of the vehicle body. These are the only three tabs required for this product.
You should snug the hardware but not fully tighten it during the initial mounting bracket installation (Steps 2–7). Once the side bar is placed and leveled, tighten all brackets to the vehicle first, followed by the side bar connections. This allows for proper alignment before final tightening.
For the first and third mounting tabs: (1) Locate the threaded hole on the inside of the body panel. (2) Attach a universal mounting bracket using an M8 hex bolt with lock and flat washer; snug but do not fully tighten. (3) Rotate the bracket bottom to the side, slide an M8 clip-nut over the mounting tab, rotate the bracket back, and secure with a second M8 hex bolt, lock washer and flat washer; snug but do not fully tighten. Repeat for the third tab. For the fifth (rear) tab: remove the rubber plug from the access hole, insert a clip nut through the access hole and align it over the adjacent small hole, then secure the top with an M8 hex bolt, lock washer and flat washer.
For the front passenger side: (1) Place the upper mounting bracket against the rocker panel and align the weld nut with the mounting hole. (2) Secure using an M8 hex bolt, M8 lock washer and M8 flat washer. (3) Align a passenger front lower mounting bracket with the upper bracket and secure them together using an M10 hex bolt, M10 lock washer and M10 flat washer. (4) Torque all M10 hardware to 31.6 ft-lbs. (5) Repeat for the second passenger mounting bracket. Snug the hardware but do not fully tighten. For the rear passenger side: repeat the process used for the driver side rear bracket (Step 5).
Place the side bar onto the mounting brackets and align the mounting points. Secure the side bar to the brackets using an M10 hex bolt, lock washer and flat washer at each mounting location. Snug the hardware but do not fully tighten. Then adjust and level the side bar. Once leveled, tighten all brackets to the vehicle first, followed by the side bar connections.
The driver/left side bar and passenger/right side bar are specific to their sides. If the holes on the side bar do not match up with the brackets, ensure all brackets have been installed in the correct locations and that the correct side bar is being used for that side of the vehicle.
M8 bolts should be torqued to 7 ft.-lbs., unless otherwise noted in the installation instructions.
M10 bolts should be torqued to 16 ft.-lbs., unless otherwise noted. However, the M10 hardware connecting the passenger front mounting brackets must be torqued to 31.6 ft-lbs., which is a specific exception noted in Step 9.
Periodic inspections should be performed to ensure all mounting hardware remains tight. To protect the product, wax after installing. Regular waxing is recommended to add a protective layer over the finish. Do not use any type of polish or wax that may contain abrasives. For polished, gloss and other smooth finishes, polish may be used to clear small scratches and scuffs. Clean the product with mild automotive detergent only; do not use dish detergent, abrasive cleaners, abrasive pads, wire brushes or similar products that may damage the finish.
