ARIES 4" oval side bars are sleek, strong and custom-fitted to be a highly functional extension of your truck. ARIES 4" oval side bars are made with strong 4" elliptical tubing and are available in two different finish options to allow you full customization: polished stainless steel and black powder coat carbon steel. This set of side bars is constructed from 304 stainless steel, meaning high nickel content to be truly stainless. They easily resist rust and corrosion and feature a highly polished finish that is made to last. Something that sets the ARIES 4" oval side bar apart from all others is its blended end caps and OE-style bends. Rather than capping our side bars with a plastic cap, we offer a blended end cap for a smooth, finished appearance. We also equip the ends with a special 20-degree bend and original equipment styling to perfectly contour to your vehicle. ARIES 4" oval side bars are fitted with raised step pads to provide a wide stepping surface. The polypropylene construction will not crack over time, and because it has a textured grip, the surface is highly resistant to slips and skids, even when wet. To add an extra element of class to our oval sides, we also fit each one with a stainless steel insignia bearing the ARIES name. Installation of ARIES 4" oval side bars is quick and easy with custom-fitted mounting brackets and no drilling necessary. These nerf bars fit select model years of the Ram 2500 or 3500 and Dodge Ram 2500 or Ram 3500 (see application info to verify fitment).

Yes. You must remove the factory body bolts and washers at the front and rear mounting points on both sides of the vehicle. These factory fasteners are not reused and must be discarded. The front bolt is located where the front mounting bracket attaches, and the rear bolt is located where the rear mounting bracket attaches.
Remove the tape covering the factory oval holes in the inner body panels. There are two oval holes on each side: one at the front near the front tire (passenger/right side first), and one at the rear. These holes are pre-drilled by the factory and are covered with tape that must be removed before inserting the bolt plates and bolt/nut plates.
Install the passenger/right side first, then repeat the same steps for the driver/left side. For each side, the sequence is: (1) remove tape from front oval hole, (2) assemble and insert front bolt plate with plastic retainer, (3) attach front brace bracket to bolt plate, (4) remove factory front body bolt and install front mounting bracket, (5) attach front brace bracket to front mounting bracket, (6) remove tape from rear oval hole, (7) assemble and insert rear bolt/nut plate with plastic retainer, (8) attach rear brace bracket to bolt/nut plate, (9) remove factory rear body bolt and install rear mounting bracket, (10) attach rear brace bracket to rear mounting bracket, (11) attach sidebar to both front and rear mounting brackets, (12) level and align sidebar, then tighten all hardware.

Hold the bolt end with one hand and tighten the plastic retainer with your other hand until it reaches the side panel. The plastic retainer secures the bolt plate in place from inside the panel.

After installation, rotate the bolt and nut plate until the nut end lines up with the remaining hole in the mounting bracket and body, then thread 1 × 10mm × 35mm hex bolt, 1 × 10mm flat washer, and 1 × 10mm lock washer into the threaded nut. Snug but do not tighten at this time.
Use 1 × 10mm × 35mm hex bolt, 2 × 10mm × 30mm OD flat washers, 1 × 10mm lock washer, and 1 × 10mm hex nut. Snug but do not tighten at this time.
Use 4 × 10mm × 35mm hex head bolts, 4 × 12mm lock washers, and 4 × 12mm × 24mm OD flat washers total (2 bolts, 2 lock washers, and 2 flat washers at the front mounting bracket, and 2 bolts, 2 lock washers, and 2 flat washers at the rear mounting bracket). Do not tighten at this time.
After the sidebar is leveled and aligned properly, tighten all hardware. Do not tighten any fasteners until this final step, as premature tightening may prevent proper alignment.
Wax the product after installing to protect the finish. Regular waxing is recommended to add a protective layer. Do not use any type of polish or wax that may contain abrasives, as these could damage the finish. For stainless steel sidebars, aluminum polish may be used to polish small scratches and scuffs, and mild soap may be used to clean. For gloss black finishes, use only mild soap to clean the sidebar.
Perform periodic inspections to ensure all hardware is secure and tight. The manual does not specify the inspection interval, but regular checks are recommended to maintain the integrity of the installation.
