ARIES 4" oval side bars are sleek, strong and custom-fitted to be a highly functional extension of your truck. ARIES 4" oval side bars are made with strong 4" elliptical tubing and are available in two different finish options to allow for full customization: polished stainless steel and black powder coat carbon steel. This set of side bars is constructed from 304 stainless steel, meaning high nickel content to be truly stainless. They easily resist rust and corrosion and feature a highly polished finish that is made to last. Something that sets the ARIES 4" oval side bar apart from all others is its blended end caps and OE-style bends. Rather than capping our side bars with a plastic cap, we offer a blended end cap for a smooth, finished appearance. We also equip the ends with a special 20-d egree bend and original equipment styling to perfectly contour to your vehicle. ARIES 4" oval side bars are fitted with raised step pads to provide a wide stepping surface. The polypropylene construction will not crack over time, and because it has a textured grip, the surface is highly resistant to slips and skids, even when wet. Installation of ARIES 4" oval side bars is quick and easy with custom-fitted mounting brackets and no drilling necessary. These nerf bars fit select model years of the Ram 1500 (see application info to verify fitment).

The kit includes 1 driver-side (left) running board, 1 passenger-side (right) running board, 6 universal mounting brackets, 12 M10 hex bolts, 12 M10 flat washers, 12 M10 lock washers, 18 M8 nylock nuts, and 18 M8 flat washers.
The S225044-2 is designed as a universal product with universal mounting brackets. However, your vehicle must have three factory mounting tabs along the bottom edge on both the driver and passenger sides for installation. Check your vehicle's undercarriage for these tabs before purchasing. If you are unsure whether your vehicle has the required mounting tabs, contact ARIES Automotive at 877-287-8634.
You will need a ratchet, torque wrench, socket set, and level. These tools are required to properly secure the hardware and ensure the side bars are installed level on the vehicle.
The manual does not mention battery disconnection. Since this is a mechanical side bar installation with no electrical components, battery disconnection is not required.
1. Start on the driver side and locate the three mounting tabs along the bottom edge. 2. At the front mounting location, remove debris from the factory studs and attach a mounting bracket using an M8 nylock nut and flat washer. Snug but do not fully tighten. 3. Repeat for middle and rear locations. 4. Place the driver-side bar onto the brackets, align mounting points, and ensure rivet nuts line up. 5. Secure using M10 hex bolts, lock washers and flat washers at each location. Snug but do not fully tighten. 6. Repeat steps 1–5 for the passenger side.
During installation, snug all hardware but do not fully tighten it. The manual instructs you to snug (hand-tighten) the M8 bracket fasteners and M10 side bar fasteners during steps 2 and 3. However, the manual does not specify when to apply final torque. After installation is complete, apply the appropriate torque values: M8 bolts to 7 ft-lbs and M10 bolts to 16 ft-lbs.
M10 bolts should be torqued to 16 ft-lbs. This specification applies to the M10 hex bolts that secure the side bars to the mounting brackets.

For polished, gloss and other smooth finishes, polish without abrasives may be used to clear small scratches and scuffs.

Place the side bar onto the mounting brackets and align the mounting points. Ensure the rivet nuts on the bottom of the side bar line up with the brackets before securing with M10 hex bolts, lock washers, and flat washers.
