B&W Trailer Hitches is an American manufacturer known for durable, innovative towing products, including gooseneck hitches, fifth-wheel hitches, receiver hitches, and ball mounts. Built in Kansas by employee-owners, B&W products are engineered for dependable performance, easy installation, and long-lasting quality.
B&W Trailer Hitches is an American manufacturer known for building innovative, dependable towing products designed to make hitching easier and towing more comfortable. The company began in 1987 in Humboldt, Kansas, when founders Roger Baker and Joe Works combined their fabrication experience to build custom truck beds and solve common problems faced by truck owners.
B&W changed the gooseneck hitch industry with the introduction of the Turnoverball Gooseneck Hitch. Its under-bed mounting system and reversible hitch ball allowed truck owners to quickly store the ball beneath the bed, leaving a clean and unobstructed surface when the hitch was not in use. B&W later applied the same practical approach to the Companion Fifth Wheel Hitch, creating a removable fifth-wheel hitch engineered for a quiet, smooth, and secure towing experience.
Today, B&W manufactures gooseneck hitches, fifth-wheel hitches, receiver hitches, ball mounts, and towing accessories at its nearly 600,000-square-foot facility. The company is owned by approximately 500 employee-owners who remain committed to American manufacturing, trusted materials, skilled craftsmanship, and long-lasting product quality.
Whether you are towing a work trailer, livestock trailer, camper, or fifth wheel, B&W Trailer Hitches offers thoughtfully engineered towing equipment built to perform mile after mile.

The 2004-2014 Ford F150 - Excludes 2004 Heritage B&W Custom Installation Kit For Universal Mounting Rails For Some Ford Trucks RVK2404 (Part #BQVLRVK2404) Refer to the included instructions for installation details. Basic hand tools are typically all you need.
The RVK2404 (part number 2404-100) is designed for 2004–2014 Ford F150 trucks, with one exception: it does not fit the 2004 F150 Heritage Edition. If your truck is within this range and is not a Heritage Edition, the mounting rail is compatible. You will also need a Patriot 5th Wheel or Slider Base to complete the installation.
No. The RVK2404 mounting rail is not compatible with the 2004 F150 Heritage Edition. It is designed for all other 2004–2014 Ford F150 models.
You will need: impact wrench or ratchet with 3/4" and 13mm sockets; 3/4" box end wrench; drill with 1/8" and 9/16" drill bits; tape measure; center punch; hammer; torque wrench; flashlight; eye protection; and ear protection. A Patriot 5th Wheel or Slider Base is also required for the installation.
The kit includes: 2 mounting rails (Patriot Rail Box RVR3210); 1 Bracket Set Box (RVR2404) containing driver and passenger side plates, 4 fish wires, 10 carriage bolts 1/2" × 2", 14 lock washers 1/2", 14 finish nuts 1/2", 4 carriage bolts 1/2" × 1-1/2", 4 locking straps, 4 flat washers 1/2", 10 U-shaped spacers 1/2", and 10 offset rectangle washers. All fasteners are provided in two bolt bags.
If you have a removable bed liner or mat, it must be removed or cut to allow the mounting rails to connect directly with the bed. If you have a spray-in bed liner, you can install the mounting rails over it. When measuring and drilling, account for the thickness of any spray-in liner applied over the end of the bed.
It may be necessary to remove the spare tire before installation, depending on its location and the space required for the mounting rails. The manual notes this as a possibility but does not make it mandatory for all installations.
Only if your truck is older than 2009. Trucks from 2009 onwards have a factory access hole. For trucks older than 2009, you must remove the axle bumper bolt, axle bumper, and multi-thread U-nut from the underside of the frame on both the driver and passenger sides using a 13mm socket. This provides an access hole for the fish wire during side plate installation. The axle bumper and hardware are reinstalled after installation is complete.
The rear mounting rail should be positioned 28-15/16" from the rear edge of the bed. This measurement applies to all bed lengths. Use a tape measure hooked over the rear edge of the bed (not on the tailgate) to verify the position. The rail should also be centered in the bed by measuring equal distances from the edge of the rail to both sides of the wheel wells.
Yes. You must drill five holes in the rear of the truck bed and five holes in the forward position. First, mark the hole locations with a center punch, then drill pilot holes with a 1/8" drill bit. After checking alignment with the side plates, enlarge each hole to 9/16" using a 9/16" drill bit. The same process is repeated for the forward mounting rail. Before drilling, carefully examine the area under the truck to ensure the fuel tank or other equipment will not be damaged.
You need two drill bits: a 1/8" bit for pilot holes and a 9/16" bit for enlarging the holes to final size. The 1/8" holes are drilled first to mark the locations, then enlarged to 9/16" after checking alignment with the side plates.
No. Drilling is a required part of the installation. You must drill five pilot holes (1/8") in the rear bed position and five in the forward position, then enlarge each to 9/16". These holes are necessary to mount the rails securely to the truck bed.
All 1/2" nuts must be torqued to 80 ft-lbs. This applies to both the 1/2" nuts in the mounting rails and the 1/2" nuts in the side plates. Use a torque wrench to ensure proper tightening. Torque the mounting rail nuts first, then the side plate nuts.
The installation sequence is: (1) remove axle bumper if truck is older than 2009; (2) layout and mark the rear mounting rail hole locations; (3) drill pilot holes with 1/8" bit, then enlarge to 9/16"; (4) install side plates using fish wire and locking straps; (5) install the rear mounting rail with carriage bolts and U-shaped spacers; (6) install the forward mounting rail using the base to position it correctly; (7) drill forward mounting holes using the same method as the rear; (8) install hardware on both rails; (9) torque all nuts to 80 ft-lbs; (10) reinstall spare tire and axle bumper if removed.
Insert the coil end of the fish wire into the 1" hole on the frame and pass it through to the access hole. Thread a locking strap onto the fish wire and attach the coil end to a 1/2" × 1-1/2" carriage bolt. Push the hardware into the frame, then pull the fish wire until the carriage bolt passes through the frame. Leave the fish wire attached to the bolt. Repeat this process for the 7/8" hole. Then thread the fish wires through the holes in the side plate, guide the plate into position, and use the fish wires to pull the carriage bolts into place. Secure with lock washers, flat washers, and nuts, then hand tighten.
U-shaped spacers are provided to function as space fillers between the mounting rails and the truck bed. Due to the corrugation in the truck bed, these spacers must always be placed in the gap above the bed (between the mounting rail and the bed). Failure to use U-shaped spacers will result in property damage when the hardware is tightened.
The forward mounting rail must be positioned using the Patriot 5th Wheel or Slider Base. Place the forward rail in front of the rear mounting rail, then place the base over the rail attachment points and carefully lower it until the pin tabs pass through the attachment points on the rear mounting rail. Attach the forward mounting rail to the forward mounting points on the base. The base should rest flat against the top of the rails. Before drilling, pull the RV base towards the rear of the truck and push the forward rail towards the cab to correctly space the mounting rails.
Hand tighten all nuts first. After all hardware is installed and hand tightened on both the mounting rails and side plates, use a torque wrench to torque all 1/2" nuts to 80 ft-lbs. Torque the mounting rail nuts first, then the side plate nuts.
Before drilling, carefully examine the area under the truck where modification will occur. The fuel tank may be directly below the area of the bed that needs to be drilled. Make certain the tank or other equipment is not damaged during drilling. Damage to the tank may result in property damage, serious injury, or death. Always use eye protection and ear protection during drilling.
Do not exceed the tow or tongue rating of the coupler, hitch, truck, or trailer. See vehicle and trailer manufacturer information for ratings. Exceeding these ratings may cause damage to towing components or loss of attachment between the trailer and truck. Without proper knowledge, towing can be dangerous. Understand all risks involved before proceeding. For towing safety information, see "The Trailer Handbook: A guide to Understanding Trailer and Towing Safety" from the National Association of Trailer Manufacturers (www.NATM.com) and your trailer manufacturer's owner's manual.
Additional caution must be used when towing a wedge car trailer. Towing stability greatly depends on keeping the center of gravity as low as possible. Load heavy cars over the axles. Never tow with a single car on the front of the trailer. When towing a wedge car trailer, never exceed speeds that are reasonable for the roadway conditions (e.g., turns, going around a curve). Failure to account for proper trailer center of gravity and speeds that are reasonable for the roadway conditions may cause damage to the truck, trailer, towing components, and loss of attachment between the truck and trailer.
No. Do not modify this product in any manner. Doing so could alter its integrity and lead to a loss of attachment between the trailer and the tow vehicle.
After installation, reinstall the spare tire and axle bumper if they were removed. Verify that all bolted connections are at the correct torque specification (80 ft-lbs for all 1/2" nuts). A visual inspection should be performed before each time you tow to ensure all connections remain secure.
Regularly check that all bolted connections are at the correct torque specification. A visual inspection should be performed before each time you tow to ensure all connections remain secure and properly tightened.
Yes, if your truck is a 2004–2014 Ford F150 (except 2004 Heritage Edition). You will also need a Patriot 5th Wheel or Slider Base.
The kit includes two mounting rails, driver and passenger side plates, fish wires, carriage bolts, lock washers, finish nuts, locking straps, flat washers, U-shaped spacers, and offset rectangle washers. A Patriot 5th Wheel or Slider Base is required but not included.
Removable bed liners must be removed or cut. Spray-in liners can be left in place. Account for spray-in liner thickness when measuring and drilling.
Yes. You must drill ten holes total (five for the rear rail, five for the forward rail) using 1/8" pilot bits, then enlarge to 9/16". Before drilling, verify the fuel tank location to avoid damage.
All 1/2" nuts must be torqued to 80 ft-lbs using a torque wrench. Torque mounting rail nuts first, then side plate nuts.
Do not exceed the tow or tongue rating of the coupler, hitch, truck, or trailer. Do not modify the product. Regularly check all bolted connections are at correct torque before each tow.
If the 1/8" drilled holes are not centered within the slots in the side plates, re-drill the 1/8" holes until the side plates and the drilled holes are aligned. This check is performed before enlarging the holes to 9/16".
