The hitch integrates with the vehicle's frame and provides a useful and dependable 1-1/4" x 1-1/4" receiver. The receiver is perfect for attaching the included ball mount and towing a small trailer, or for adding cargo space with a hitch-mounted cargo carrier, bike rack or other accessory. This particular class 1 hitch is rated for 2,000 pounds gross trailer weight and 200 pounds tongue weight (never exceed the lowest-rated towing component). The ball mount included with this trailer hitch quickly and easily installs into the hitch receiver and has a 3/4" trailer ball hole (trailer ball not included). It can be mounted in the rise or drop position to promote level towing. Like all CURT custom hitches, this class 1 hitch is protected with our co-cured finishing process. It is descaled for a smooth surface, immersed in liquid A-coat for rust resistance inside and out, covered with a durable black powder coat and finally co-cured for an industry-leading rust, chip and UV-resistant shield. The kit includes: (2) 1/2" fishwire, (2) 1/2-13 UNC 1-1/4" carriage bolts (part 10-10116), (4) 1/2-13 UNC serrated flange nuts (part 20-00165), (2) 1/2-13 UNC 2" carriage bolts (part 10-10302), (2) 0.250 x 1.00 x 3.00" square hole spacers (part CM-SP6), (4) 1/2-13 UNC 2-1/2" hex cap screws (part 10-10358), and (4) 1/2" conical toothed washers (part 30-00149).

Installation follows these steps: (1) Remove two fasteners attaching fascia to trunk pan. (2) Raise nut plate and mounting strap into position around the vehicle crossmember and secure with 1/2-13 x 2-1/2" hex bolts and 1/2" conical toothed washers. (3) Raise hitch weldment past fascia lip and secure to mounting strap using 1/2-13 x 1-1/4" carriage bolts and 1/2-13 flange nuts. (4) Press hitch against bottom of bumper beam, center it on the vehicle, and mark hole locations using the hitch as a template. (5) Lower hitch and drill marked locations. (6) Fishwire 1/2-13 x 2" carriage bolts and SP6 spacers through access holes between fascia and bumper beam, raise hitch back into position, and secure with 1/2-13 flange nuts. (7) Torque all 1/2" fasteners to 75 ft-lbs and re-install fasteners removed in step 1.
Fishwire is a flexible wire tool used to route fasteners (the 1/2-13 x 2" carriage bolts and SP6 spacers) through the access holes between the fascia and the back of the bumper beam. The kit includes two 1/2" fishwires for this purpose. You thread the bolts and spacers onto the fishwire, pull the wire through the access holes, and then remove the wire, leaving the bolts and spacers in place.
All 1/2" fasteners must be torqued to 75 ft-lbs. This applies to the 1/2-13 x 2-1/2" hex bolts securing the mounting strap to the crossmember, the 1/2-13 x 1-1/4" carriage bolts securing the hitch to the mounting strap, and the 1/2-13 x 2" carriage bolts securing the hitch to the bumper beam.
