Connect to your lifestyle with a custom hitch receiver from CURT. All of our custom hitches are designed for a vehicle-specific fit, manufactured with pride, finished for industry-leading rust resistance and tested to rigorous SAE J684 standards for safety. This class 1 trailer hitch and ball mount combination is designed for a custom fit on select years of the Mazda 5 (see application info to verify fitment). The hitch integrates with the vehicle's frame and provides a useful and dependable 1-1/4" x 1-1/4" receiver. The receiver is perfect for attaching the included ball mount and towing a small trailer, or for adding cargo space with a hitch-mounted cargo carrier, bike rack or other accessory. This particular class 1 hitch is rated for 2,000 pounds gross trailer weight and 200 pounds tongue weight (never exceed the lowest-rated towing component). The ball mount included with this trailer hitch quickly and easily installs into the hitch receiver and has a 3/4" trailer ball hole (trailer ball not included). It can be mounted in the rise or drop position to promote level towing. Like all CURT custom hitches, this class 1 hitch is protected with our co-cured finishing process. It is descaled for a smooth surface, immersed in liquid A-coat for rust resistance inside and out, covered with a durable black powder coat and finally co-cured for an industry-leading rust, chip and UV-resistant shield. No matter where you're headed or which season of the year you?re towing in, this CURT hitch is equipped for long-lasting resilience to the elements. It features an open-back receiver for easy cleaning, and it comes with all the hardware necessary for the installation.

Yes, part number 11127 is designed for 2012-Current Mazda 5 vans. Confirm your vehicle year matches this range before purchasing.
The hitch is rated for a maximum of 2,000 lbs trailer weight and 200 lbs tongue weight. However, you must never exceed your vehicle manufacturer's recommended towing capacity, which may be lower.
The hitch is designed for use with ball mount D-20 / 45520. Euro mount options are available: part number 45561 (1-7/8" ball) or 45562 (2" ball).
The kit includes: 4 hex flange nuts (7/16-14), 4 square hole spacers (CM-SP7, .250 x 1.00 x 2.00"), 4 carriage bolts (7/16-14 x 1 1/4), and 2 pieces of 7/16" fishwire.
Required tools are: ratchet, torque wrench, 10mm socket, 11/16" socket, 5" extension, die grinder, and aviation shears. A torque wrench is essential for final fastener tightening to specification.
Two people may be required to ease installation. The manual notes that installation is moderate difficulty and recommends contacting an authorized CURT installer if you are hesitant to undertake the task yourself.

No drilling is required. However, the forward-most access holes in the frame rails must be enlarged using a die grinder to allow 7/16-14 carriage bolts and SP7 spacers to pass through. The heat shield must also be trimmed using aviation shears.
According to the heat shield trim diagram, trim approximately 10.00 inches horizontally, 13.00 inches vertically, and 1.00 inch from the edge. The manual notes these dimensions are approximate; confirm fit prior to trimming.
Yes. The exhaust must be lowered by removing 3 rubber exhaust hangers before installation (Step 1) and then raised and reattached after the hitch is secured (Step 9).

1. Lower exhaust by removing 3 rubber hangers. 2. Remove heat shield by removing 6 fasteners and any tape covering frame rail holes. 3. Enlarge forward access holes on both sides. 4. Fishwire carriage bolts and spacers through access holes and out rear holes on both sides. 5. Reverse fishwire bolts and spacers in access holes on both sides. 6. Mark, trim, and reattach heat shield using 4 fasteners. 7. Raise hitch into position and secure with flange nuts. 8. Torque all 7/16" hardware to 70 ft-lbs. 9. Raise exhaust and reattach 3 rubber hangers.
All non-trailer loads (wheel-less loads) applied to this hitch must be supported by CURT 18050 stabilizing straps. Failure to properly support non-trailer loads will void the product warranty.
Periodically check the receiver hitch to ensure all fasteners are tight and all structural components are sound. This ongoing inspection helps maintain safe operation and warranty compliance.
