The hitch integrates with the vehicle's frame and provides a useful and dependable 1-1/4" x 1-1/4" receiver. The receiver is perfect for attaching the included ball mount and towing a small trailer, or for adding cargo space with a hitch-mounted cargo carrier, bike rack or other accessory. This particular class 1 hitch is rated for 2,000 pounds gross trailer weight and 200 pounds tongue weight (never exceed the lowest-rated towing component). The ball mount included with this trailer hitch quickly and easily installs into the hitch receiver and has a 3/4" trailer ball hole (trailer ball not included). It can be mounted in the rise or drop position to promote level towing. Like all CURT custom hitches, this class 1 hitch is protected with our co-cured finishing process. It is descaled for a smooth surface, immersed in liquid A-coat for rust resistance inside and out, covered with a durable black powder coat and finally co-cured for an industry-leading rust, chip and UV-resistant shield. Required tools are: 7/16" drill bit, power drill, 11 mm socket, 13 mm socket, 11/16" socket, ratchet, torque wrench, safety glasses, pry bar, and aviation shears. Proper tools will greatly improve installation quality and reduce installation time.

Professional installation time is 40 minutes minimum. Novice (DIY) installation time is 80 minutes minimum. Actual time may vary depending on your experience and vehicle condition.
Yes. Using a 7/16" drill bit, you must enlarge the hole at the end of the driver side frame rail. This is a permanent modification required for proper hitch installation.
Yes. The heat shield must be trimmed as shown in the heat shield trim diagram on page 5. After trimming, the heat shield is reinstalled using two hex nuts (the other two hex nuts are discarded). The trimmed heat shield is then reattached to the vehicle.
Rear fascia trimming is required only on FIAT 500 Turbo vehicles. The center fin portion of the rear fascia must be trimmed at the bottom before the hitch can be installed. Refer to the 500 Turbo Rear Fascia Trim Diagram on page 5 for trimming dimensions (3.00" is shown).
Yes. The exhaust must be lowered by removing the rubber exhaust hanger from the hanger rod at two places. After the hitch is installed and the heat shield is reattached, the exhaust is raised back into position by reattaching the rubber exhaust hangers to the hanger rods.
Only if your vehicle is equipped with a spare tire. If equipped, remove two bolts which attach the spare tire control box to the passenger side frame rail. If your vehicle does not have the spare tire option, weldnuts can be found by removing protective tape from the frame rail.
Torque all 7/16" fasteners (carriage bolts and flanged hex nuts on driver side) to 70 lb.-ft. Torque all M8 fasteners (hex bolts on passenger side) to 23 lb.-ft. Use a torque wrench to ensure proper tightness.
CURT 11363 includes: 2 M8 hex head bolts (M8 - 1.25 x 30), 2 conical toothed washers (3/8"), 2 fishwire (7/16"), 2 hex flange nuts (7/16-14), 2 carriage bolts (7/16-14 x 1 1/4), and 2 spacers (CM-SP2). The vehicle provides weldnuts in the frame and existing heat shield hex nuts are reused.
On the driver side, fishwire the 7/16" carriage bolts and spacer blocks up through the square hole in the frame rail and down through the mounting holes as shown in the diagram. The carriage bolts are then secured with flanged hex nuts and torqued to 70 lb.-ft.
The M8 hex bolts and 7/16" conical toothed washers are installed into weldnuts in the passenger side frame rail. They are torqued to 23 lb.-ft. The hitch passenger side plate is sandwiched between the frame rail and the spare tire control box (if equipped).
Periodically check that all fasteners are tight and that all structural components are sound. This is especially important before towing. Verify that the hitch is securely mounted and that no fasteners have loosened.
Safety glasses must be worn at all times while installing this product. Read all instructions thoroughly before beginning installation. If you are hesitant to undertake this task on your own, contact an authorized CURT installer.
