The hitch integrates with the vehicle's frame and provides a useful and dependable 1-1/4" x 1-1/4" receiver. The receiver is perfect for attaching the included ball mount and towing a small trailer, or for adding cargo space with a hitch-mounted cargo carrier, bike rack or other accessory. This particular class 1 hitch is rated for 2,000 pounds gross trailer weight and 200 pounds tongue weight (never exceed the lowest-rated towing component). The ball mount included with this trailer hitch quickly and easily installs into the hitch receiver and has a 3/4" trailer ball hole (trailer ball not included). It can be mounted in the rise or drop position to promote level towing. Like all CURT custom hitches, this class 1 hitch is protected with our co-cured finishing process. It is descaled for a smooth surface, immersed in liquid A-coat for rust resistance inside and out, covered with a durable black powder coat and finally co-cured for an industry-leading rust, chip and UV-resistant shield. It features an open-back receiver for easy cleaning, and it comes with all the hardware necessary for the installation.

Required tools are: torque wrench, ratchet, 3/4'' socket, 13mm socket, aviation shears, and safety glasses. A 1/2'' socket is also mentioned for removing the exhaust isolator bolt.
The hitch includes: 4 × CM-SP2 spacers (.250 x .88 x 2.25'' square hole), 4 × 7/16-14 x 1 1/4'' carriage bolts, 4 × 7/16-14 hex flange nuts, and 2 × 7/16'' fishwire.

Yes, the exhaust must be lowered before installation. Remove the 2 rubber isolators from the muffler towards the center of the vehicle and remove the bolt securing the rearmost hanger to the frame using a 1/2'' socket. After installation is complete, raise the exhaust back into position.
Only if a heat shield is present on your vehicle. If present, trim it to access the access hole in the frame. Approximate trim dimensions are 2.50'' on two sides, but confirm actual dimensions prior to trimming using the heat shield trim diagram provided.
Thread the 7/16'' fishwire through the CM-SP2 spacers and 7/16'' carriage bolts through the access holes in the frame and out through the mounting holes. This allows you to position the hitch before securing it with the flange nuts. Refer to the fishwire technique diagram in the manual for detailed guidance.
Torque all 7/16'' hardware (carriage bolts and flange nuts) to 70 ft-lbs.
Wear safety glasses at all times while installing this product. Read all instructions thoroughly before beginning. If you are hesitant to undertake this task on your own, contact an authorized CURT installer for additional assistance.
All non-trailer loads (wheel-less loads) applied to this hitch must be supported by CURT 18050 stabilizing straps. Failure to properly support non-trailer loads will void the product warranty. CURT recommends the use of 18050 stabilizing straps for all non-trailer loads.
Periodically check the receiver hitch to ensure all fasteners are tight and all structural components are sound. This is an ongoing maintenance requirement, not a one-time check.
Two people may be required to ease installation. While one person may be able to complete the installation, having a second person can improve the quality of the install and reduce the time required.
