Connect to your lifestyle with a custom hitch receiver from CURT. All of our custom hitches are designed for a vehicle-specific fit, manufactured with pride, finished for industry-leading rust resistance and tested to rigorous SAE J684 standards for safety. This class 1 trailer hitch and ball mount combination is designed for a custom fit on select years of the Mercedes-Benz E300, E350, E400 and E450 (see application info to verify fitment). The hitch integrates with the vehicle's frame and provides a useful and dependable 1-1/4" x 1-1/4" receiver. The receiver is perfect for attaching the included ball mount and towing a small trailer, or for adding cargo space with a hitch-mounted cargo carrier, bike rack or other accessory. This particular class 1 hitch is rated for 2,000 pounds gross trailer weight and 200 pounds tongue weight (never exceed the lowest-rated towing component). The ball mount included with this trailer hitch quickly and easily installs into the hitch receiver and has a 3/4" trailer ball hole (trailer ball not included). It can be mounted in the rise or drop position to promote level towing. Like all CURT custom hitches, this class 1 hitch is protected with our co-cured finishing process. It is descaled for a smooth surface, immersed in liquid A-coat for rust resistance inside and out, covered with a durable black powder coat and finally co-cured for an industry-leading rust, chip and UV-resistant shield. No matter where you're headed or which season of the year you?re towing in, this CURT hitch is equipped for long-lasting resilience to the elements. It features an open-back receiver for easy cleaning, and it comes with all the hardware necessary for the installation.

Yes, CURT hitch 11454 is designed for 2017-present Mercedes-Benz E300 sedans. Verify your vehicle matches this year range and body style before purchasing.
The hitch is rated for a maximum trailer weight of 2,000 lbs and tongue weight of 200 lbs when used as a weight-carrying hitch. You must never exceed your vehicle manufacturer's recommended towing capacity.
The hitch is designed for use with CURT ball mount #45521. Euro mount options are available: #45571 (1 7/8" ball) and #45572 (2" ball).
Required tools: ratchet, torque wrench, 6" socket extension, sockets (E12, 8mm, 10mm, 11/16"), torx bit sockets (T25, T40), power drill with 1/2" drill bit, die grinder, aviation shears, masking tape, marker, and safety glasses.
Two people may be required to ease installation. The installation difficulty is rated as moderate.
Yes. You must temporarily remove the exhaust tips and lower the exhaust system. Step 1 requires removing 6 bolts (3 per tip) using a T40 torx bit socket. Step 2 requires removing 2 bolts per side from the exhaust bracket using an E12 socket and removing 2 rubber isolators from the front of the exhaust. The exhaust is reinstalled in reverse order after final torquing.
Yes. You must temporarily remove the heat shields to trim them. Step 3 requires removing 4 nuts (8mm socket), 2 bolts (10mm socket), 2 screws (T25 torx bit), and 1 metal clip from each side. The heat shields are reinstalled after trimming in Step 4.
Yes. Drilling is required. Step 5 requires drilling two holes (one on each side of the frame) using a 1/2" drill bit. The holes are marked using the hitch's rear-most hole as a template aligned with the existing frame hole. Step 6 then requires using a die grinder to enlarge the slotted hole to 1.125" on each side.
Yes. Step 4 requires trimming the heat shields. Mark out a 4" × 8" section on each heat shield using masking tape and trim using aviation shears. The heat shields are then reinstalled using the original hardware.
Step 5 requires drilling with a 1/2" drill bit. Step 6 then requires using a die grinder to enlarge the slotted hole to 1.125" diameter. You should verify that the provided bolt head will fit through the 1.125" hole before proceeding.
The kit includes: 4 carriage bolts (7/16"-14 × 1 1/4"), 4 square hole spacers (CM-SP2, .250 × .88 × 2.25"), 4 hex flange nuts (7/16"-14), and 4 pieces of 7/16" fishwire.
All 7/16" hardware (carriage bolts and hex flange nuts) must be torqued to 59 ft-lbs. This is done in Step 9 after the hitch is positioned and fasteners are loosely installed.
Fishwire is used to guide the carriage bolts and spacers through the enlarged access holes in the frame before the hitch is raised into position. Step 7 threads one 7/16" carriage bolt and one CM-SP2 spacer through the fishwire to the forward-most hole on each frame side. The fishwires are then removed in Step 8 after the hitch is positioned.
Fasteners are loosely installed first. In Step 8, after the hitch is positioned and fishwires are removed, loosely fasten 2 hex flange nuts on each side (4 total). All 7/16" hardware is then torqued to 59 ft-lbs in Step 9 as the final step before reinstalling the exhaust.
Safety glasses must be worn at all times while installing this product.
Non-trailer (wheel-less) loads can be applied to this hitch, but all such loads must be supported by CURT 18050 stabilizing straps. Failure to properly support non-trailer loads will void the product warranty. CURT recommends the use of 18050 stabilizing straps for all non-trailer loads.
Periodically check the receiver hitch to ensure all fasteners are tight and all structural components are sound. This ongoing maintenance is essential to safe operation.
Professional installation time is 90 minutes. Novice (DIY) installation time is 45 minutes. Actual time may vary based on experience and tool availability.
