Connect to your lifestyle with a custom hitch receiver from CURT. All of our custom hitches are designed for a vehicle-specific fit, manufactured with pride, finished for industry-leading rust resistance and tested to rigorous SAE J684 standards for safety. This class 1 trailer hitch and ball mount combination is designed for a custom fit on select years of the Honda Accord (see application info to verify fitment). The hitch integrates with the vehicle's frame and provides a useful and dependable 1-1/4" x 1-1/4" receiver. The receiver is perfect for attaching the included ball mount and towing a small trailer, or for adding cargo space with a hitch-mounted cargo carrier, bike rack or other accessory. This particular class 1 hitch is rated for 2,000 pounds gross trailer weight and 200 pounds tongue weight (never exceed the lowest-rated towing component). The ball mount included with this trailer hitch quickly and easily installs into the hitch receiver and has a 3/4" trailer ball hole (trailer ball not included). It can be mounted in the rise or drop position to promote level towing. Like all CURT custom hitches, this class 1 hitch is protected with our co-cured finishing process. It is descaled for a smooth surface, immersed in liquid A-coat for rust resistance inside and out, covered with a durable black powder coat and finally co-cured for an industry-leading rust, chip and UV-resistant shield. No matter where you're headed or which season of the year you?re towing in, this CURT hitch is equipped for long-lasting resilience to the elements. It features an open-back receiver for easy cleaning, and it comes with all the hardware necessary for the installation.

Yes, CURT part number 11681 is designed for all 2013 Honda Accord models. The hitch is a weight-carrying receiver hitch rated for a maximum of 2,000 lbs trailer weight and 200 lbs tongue weight. Always verify your vehicle's manufacturer-recommended towing capacity before towing, as you must never exceed it.
CURT 11681 is designed for use with ball mount #D-55001 or #45501. Euro mount options are available: #45571 (1-7/8" ball) and #45572 (2" ball). Consult the CURT catalog or visit www.curtmfg.com for additional ball mount options.
The CURT 11681 is rated for a maximum of 2,000 lbs trailer weight and 200 lbs tongue weight when used as a weight-carrying hitch. You must never exceed your vehicle manufacturer's recommended towing capacity. For the 2013 Honda Accord, verify the vehicle's specific towing limits before towing.
Required tools are: ratchet, 10mm socket, 9/16" socket, 11/16" socket, torque wrench, aviation shears, tape measure, and pry bar. Safety glasses must be worn at all times during installation. Using proper tools will greatly improve installation quality and reduce installation time.
No, drilling is not required. The CURT 11681 uses existing frame rail access holes and fishwire hardware to route fasteners through the frame without drilling.
Two people may be required to ease installation. The manual notes that using proper tools will greatly improve the quality of the install and reduce the time required. If you are hesitant to undertake this task on your own, contact an authorized CURT installer for additional assistance.
Fishwire is used to route 7/16"-14 x 1 1/4" carriage bolts with CM-SP2 spacers through access holes in both frame rails without drilling. The fishwires are attached to the hardware and fed through the frame rail access holes. Leave fishwires attached during this step to prevent loss of hardware inside the frame rail. After the hitch is positioned, remove the fishwires and attach the 7/16"-14 hex flange nuts to the carriage bolts.
Yes, the exhaust must be lowered before installation. Remove two rubber exhaust isolators for single exhaust vehicles or three isolators for dual exhaust vehicles. After the hitch is installed and heat shields are trimmed and reinstalled, raise the exhaust and reattach the rubber isolators.
Yes, heat shield trimming is required. Remove heat shield(s) by removing four fasteners per shield and save the fasteners for reinstallation. After the hitch is positioned, trim the heat shield(s) around the hitch. Trim dimensions are approximate; confirm fit prior to trimming. Reinstall heat shield(s) with the hardware removed earlier. Note that one fastener per shield will not be reinstalled.
Torque all 7/16" hardware to 70 ft-lbs and all 3/8" hardware to 45 ft-lbs. This includes the 7/16"-14 carriage bolts and hex flange nuts, and the 3/8"-16 U-bolt hex flange nuts.
The CURT 11681 includes: 2 carriage bolts (7/16"-14 x 1 1/4"), 2 CM-SP2 square hole spacers (.250 x .88 x 2.25"), 2 hex flange nuts (7/16"-14), 1 U-bolt (3/8"-16 x 1.00 x 1.88), 2 hex flange nuts (HFN3816, 3/8"-16), and 2 pieces of 7/16" fishwire.
The installation sequence is: (1) lower exhaust by removing rubber isolators, (2) remove heat shield(s) and save fasteners, (3) fishwire carriage bolts with spacers through frame rail access holes, (4) insert U-bolt through tow hook, (5) insert fishwires through hitch mounting holes and raise hitch into position, secure with 3/8" hex flange nuts, remove fishwires and attach 7/16" hex flange nuts, (6) torque all fasteners, (7) trim and reinstall heat shield(s), (8) raise exhaust and reattach isolators.
The CURT 11681 is rated for 2,000 lbs trailer weight and 200 lbs tongue weight. However, you must never exceed your vehicle manufacturer's recommended towing capacity. The actual limit for your 2013 Honda Accord may be lower than the hitch rating, so verify your vehicle's specifications before towing.
All non-trailer loads (wheel-less loads) applied to the CURT 11681 must be supported by CURT 18050 stabilizing straps. Failure to properly support non-trailer loads will void the product warranty. See the CURT catalog or visit www.curtmfg.com for further information on stabilizing straps.
Periodically check the receiver hitch to ensure that all fasteners are tight and that all structural components are sound. This ongoing inspection helps maintain the integrity and safety of the hitch during use.
