A CURT trailer hitch is the key to pursuing your passions, whether you're taking the family boat out for an afternoon on the water or packing up the mountain bikes for a day on the trails. This CURT class 2 hitch is perfect for towing a small trailer, such as a boat trailer, lightweight camper or utility trailer. It can also be used to mount a hitch cargo carrier or bike rack (never exceed the lowest-rated towing component). Like all CURT custom hitches, this class 2 trailer hitch is made for a vehicle-specific fit. It is engineered to seamlessly integrate with select years of the Ford Transit Connect (see application info to verify fitment). It is rated for 3,500 pounds gross trailer weight and 350 pounds tongue weight. It is also equipped with 1-1/4" x 1-1/4" hitch receiver to accept the included ball mount. The ball mount that comes with this hitch kit has a 3/4" trailer ball hole and can be positioned in the drop or rise orientation for level towing with your specific trailer (trailer ball not included). Like all CURT custom receiver hitches, this class 2 hitch is designed, manufactured, finished and tested with the utmost care. It is engineered for a precise fit, easy installation, maximum towing strength and an integrated look on the vehicle. It is also tested to SAE J684 protocols for safety. This class 2 trailer hitch is finished with our industry-leading dual-coat process for unparalleled rust, chip and UV resistance. It is descaled for a smooth surface, submersed in liquid A-coat for rust prevention inside and out, covered with a highly durable powder coat, and finally co-cured for a dependable shield against the elements. This class 2 hitch comes with a ball mount, hitch pin and mounting hardware for a complete installation.

Yes, the Curt 12076 is designed for the Ford Transit Connect. It is a receiver hitch that mounts to existing weldnuts in the vehicle frame and requires no drilling.
The Curt 12076 is designed for use with ballmount part number D-55001 or 45501.
The manual specifies a gross load capacity of 3,500 lbs trailer weight and 350 lbs tongue weight when used as a weight-carrying hitch. However, you must not exceed your vehicle manufacturer's recommended towing capacity, which may be lower.
You will need: a socket wrench, torque wrench, 19mm socket, and a screw driver. These tools are used to remove the wire fastener, raise the hitch into position, and torque the fasteners to specification.
The kit includes 4 M12-1.75 x 40mm hex bolts and 4 conical toothed washers (1/2"). These fasteners secure the hitch to the existing weldnuts in the vehicle frame.
No. The Curt 12076 requires no drilling. It mounts to existing weldnuts in the vehicle frame.
You must lower the rearmost exhaust hanger by twisting it 90° in the frame and lowering it through the slot. You must also lower the spare tire; the manual recommends removing it entirely to ease installation. Refer to your vehicle manual for spare tire removal procedures.
1. Lower the rearmost exhaust hanger by twisting 90° and lowering through the frame slot. 2. Lower or remove the spare tire. 3. Using a screwdriver, pry the wire fastener from the passenger side frame rail. 4. Raise the passenger side mounting plate to the inside of the frame while sliding the hitch over the exhaust, then raise the driver side mounting plate. 5. Loosely secure with M12-1.75 hex bolts and 1/2" conical toothed washers through existing weldnuts. Attach the wire fastener to the passenger side mounting plate. 6. Torque all 12mm fasteners to 79 lb-ft. 7. Re-install the exhaust hanger and spare tire.
Fasteners should be left loose initially. In step 5, you loosely secure the hitch with M12-1.75 hex bolts and 1/2" conical toothed washers. Only in step 6, after the hitch is fully positioned and the wire fastener is attached, do you torque all 12mm fasteners to 79 lb-ft.
All 12mm fasteners must be torqued to 79 lb-ft. This is done in the final step after the hitch is fully positioned and all components are in place.
All non-trailer loads applied to this hitch must be supported by auxiliary stabilizing straps. Failure to properly support non-trailer loads will void the product warranty.
Before and while raising the hitch into position, ensure you do not pinch any wires or fuel lines between the hitch and the frame rails. This is a critical safety concern during installation.
Periodically check the receiver hitch to ensure that all fasteners are tight and that all structural components are sound. This ongoing inspection helps maintain the integrity and safety of the installation.
Curt Manufacturing warrants the product to be free of defects in material and workmanship at the time of retail purchase by the original purchaser. If defective, Curt may repair or replace the product at their option when returned prepaid with proof of purchase. Yes. You must lower the rearmost exhaust hanger and lower or remove the spare tire. No drilling or permanent modifications are required.

All 12mm fasteners must be torqued to 79 lb-ft in the final installation step.
