Whatever your task at hand -- whether it's launching that boat before daybreak, setting up your camper before the rush or getting a final load to the dump before close -- CURT class 3 trailer hitches offer the strength needed for serious towing. They make it easy to hitch up and Bring It, offering a vehicle-specific fit and the weight capacity to handle a variety of trailers. Custom class 3 hitches are the most common type of receiver hitch for pickup trucks and SUVs. Because of their weight range, they are also found on full-size cars, crossovers and minivans. Each custom-fit class 3 hitch package is made for vehicle-specific mounting. This particular kit fits certain years of the Genesis GV70 (see application info to verify vehicle compatibility). It provides a weight carrying capacity of 3,500 lbs. GTW and 525 lbs. TW. CURT class 3 trailer hitches are typically used to attach and haul utility trailers, boat trailers, campers, snowmobile or ATV haulers and more (NOTE: Never exceed the lowest-rated towing component). Each class 3 hitch has a 2" receiver tube and is tested in accordance with SAE J684 for safety. To ensure that CURT class 3 receiver hitches have what it takes for serious trailering, they are designed using a hands-on approach and are constructed with rugged, high-strength steel and precise welding. We also protect our class 3 hitches in a co-cured finish of liquid A-coat and black powder coat for superior resistance to rust, chipping and UV damage.

The installation manual does not specify vehicle make, model or year compatibility. Contact CURT product support at 877.287.8634 or visit curtmfg.com for fitment information.
You will need a ratchet, 19mm socket, torque wrench, and flathead screwdriver. For a complete tools reference guide, visit curtmfg.com/trailer-hitch-installation.
Yes. The installation requires temporary lowering of the exhaust by removing the two rearmost exhaust hanger rods on both sides from their rubber isolators. You must use a stand to support the exhaust and prevent damage during this process.
Torque all M12 hardware to 68 ft-lbs.
Never exceed the vehicle manufacturer's recommended towing capacity. The hitch itself supports a gross trailer weight of 3,500 lbs and tongue weight of 525 lbs, but your vehicle's capacity may be lower.
Periodic inspection of the trailer hitch should be performed to ensure all mounting hardware remains tight and structural components are secure.
The CURT 13640 package includes one trailer hitch, two mounting spacers, six M12 hex bolts (1.25 x 65mm, Class 8.8), and six conical-toothed washers (1/2").
The installation is rated as 'Easy' based on time and effort involved. However, difficulty may vary depending on installer expertise, vehicle condition, and availability of proper tools and equipment.
You will need a 19mm socket to work with the M12 hex bolts.
You can use a 5/8" open end wrench and a pry bar. Slide the wrench up to the rubber isolator, cradling the hanger rod. Place the flat edge of the pry bar between the wrench and the hanger stop or rod, then rotate the pry bar toward the wrench to remove the rubber isolator. Using a lubricant or soapy water on the hanger rod and isolator helps with removal.
Spray lubricant or compressed air into the hole to remove debris. For heavy debris, use a wire brush, but take care not to damage the threads. The manual recommends temporarily inserting M12 bolts into the frame weldnuts to ensure the threads are free from debris before final installation.
Yes, if present, you must remove stickers covering the three weld nuts on the outside of both frame rails before installation.
Position the hitch side plates between the exhaust and rear fascia cover. Rotate the plates over the exhaust and lift into position.
Starting on the driver's side, slide a mounting spacer between the hitch and frame rail with its tang pointing towards the front of the vehicle. Align the hitch mounting holes and spacer holes with the frame weld nuts, then loosely install the M12 bolts and conical washers. Repeat for the passenger side.
No. Loosely install the M12 bolts and conical washers in Step 4. Tighten them to the specified torque of 68 ft-lbs only after both sides are installed and aligned.
The manual includes a conical-toothed washer orientation diagram on page 2, showing the correct placement under the hex bolts. The washers are 1/2" and should be positioned as shown in the assembly diagram.
After torquing all hardware to 68 ft-lbs, raise the exhaust back into position and reinstall the two rubber isolators on the rearmost exhaust hanger rods on both sides.
Safety glasses must be worn at all times while installing this product. Additionally, use a stand to support the exhaust when it is lowered to prevent any damage.
After installation, perform periodic inspection of the trailer hitch to ensure all mounting hardware remains tight and structural components are secure. Refer to the final installed image on page 4 to verify proper installation.
