This replacement head weldment is for the CURT CrossWing 5th wheel hitch. It is designed to replace the existing head that attaches to the kingpin on the trailer. This package comes with the head piece only. The hitch and other components are not included.

The CURT 19295 is an upper coupler assembly for a 5th wheel hitch. It mounts onto the trailer's kingpin and pin box to couple the trailer to a towing vehicle. The assembly includes an upper weldment that spins freely around the kingpin to allow articulation during towing.
The CURT 19295 is designed for 5th wheel trailers with a kingpin and pin box coupling system. The manual does not specify compatibility with particular trailer brands, models, or configurations. Verify your trailer has a standard kingpin before purchasing.
You will need a ratchet, torque wrench, and socket set. The torque wrench is essential because the 1/2" bolts must be tightened to exactly 65 ft-lbs.
The kit includes one upper weldment, two 1/2" hex head cap screws, and two 1/2" nylock nuts. A lube plate is referenced in the assembly diagram but is sold separately and not included.
The manual shows a lube plate in the assembly diagram and notes it is sold separately. The manual does not explicitly state whether it is required or optional. Contact CURT product support at 877-287-8634 to confirm whether a lube plate is necessary for your installation.
Before beginning work, block all trailer tires in front and behind with appropriate wheel chocks—do not use stones, wood blocks, or substitutes. Ensure the front trailer lifting jacks are supporting the trailer and resting on a firm, level surface. The towing vehicle must be stationary with automatic transmission in park (manual in neutral), emergency brake applied, and engine off.
1. Place the upper weldment and lube plate (if used) onto the trailer kingpin. 2. While holding the upper weldment tight against the pin box, insert the two 1/2" hex bolts through the upper weldment and secure with the 1/2" nylock nuts. 3. Torque both bolts to 65 ft-lbs. 4. Verify the upper weldment spins freely around the kingpin.
Torque the 1/2" hex head cap screws and nylock nuts to 65 ft-lbs. This is the standard torque for all 1/2" bolts on this product unless otherwise noted in the manual.
The CURT 19295 has a gross trailer weight (GTW) capacity of 20,000 lbs. and a vertical load capacity of 5,000 lbs. Never exceed these limits with the trailer and its contents combined.
Before towing, ensure all components and hardware are structurally sound and secure. Verify that lynch pins are installed through the handle. Always perform a pull test prior to towing to confirm the hitch is secure. Never position anyone under the trailer's kingpin area during coupling and uncoupling.
After torquing the bolts to 65 ft-lbs., manually spin the upper weldment around the kingpin. It should rotate freely without binding or resistance. If it does not spin freely, stop and recheck the installation.
