It provides a versatile mounting point to hang all kinds of towing accessories on the wall, keeping them off the floor and keeping your garage, shed, shop or other storage space less cluttered. The wall mount easily bolts onto virtually any 2x4 stud, using the two included lag bolts. It provides a standard 2" receiver tube that allows accessories to be stored in either the horizontal or vertical position, whichever best meets your needs (hitch pin not included). The 2" receiver openings can accept 2" or 1-1/4" shanks, making this bracket ideal for a wide variety of ball mounts, cargo carriers, bike racks, tow bars, weight distribution hitches, winch mounts and more. The gross load capacity is 350 lbs. This is the maximum total weight the bracket can safely support when properly installed.
The bracket can be mounted to walls with OSB (oriented strand board), plywood, or drywall sheathing over wood wall studs. The bracket must be fastened directly to wall studs for proper support.
The bracket includes 2 lag bolts (3/8" x 2-1/2", zinc-plated, hex head, part number 10-10659) and 2 flat washers (3/8", part number 30-00012). These fasteners are designed to secure the bracket to wall studs.
You will need a drill with a 1/8" bit to pre-drill pilot holes, and a 9/16" socket with a ratchet to install and tighten the lag bolts.
Locate a wall stud at your desired mounting height. Wall studs are the vertical wood framing members behind the wall sheathing. You can find studs using a stud finder or by tapping along the wall to locate solid areas. The bracket must be fastened to studs for adequate support.
Yes, drilling is required. You must pre-drill two 1/8" pilot holes using the bracket's mounting holes as a template. These pilot holes guide the lag bolts into the wall studs.
Drill two 1/8" pilot holes. Use the bracket's mounting holes as a template to mark the correct locations on the wall studs.
1. Locate a wall stud at your desired height. 2. Pre-drill two 1/8" pilot holes using the bracket holes as a template. 3. Place the bracket against the wall. 4. Loosely install the lag bolts with washers using a 9/16" socket and ratchet. 5. Tighten the lag bolts until the bracket is held firmly against the wall.
Install the lag bolts loosely first with the washers using a 9/16" socket and ratchet. Once the bracket is positioned against the wall, then tighten the lag bolts until the bracket is held firmly.
After installation, ensure that all fasteners are tight and that all structural components are sound. The manual recommends periodically checking the bracket to confirm it remains secure and the wall is sound.
Periodically check the bracket to ensure that all fasteners are tight and that all structural components are sound. The manual does not specify an exact interval, but regular inspection is recommended to maintain safety and prevent loosening over time.
The gross load capacity is 350 lbs. Do not exceed this weight limit. Exceeding the capacity may cause the bracket to fail and items to fall.
