This particular class 5 hitch features a gross trailer weight capacity of 18,000 lbs. and a tongue weight capacity of 2,700 lbs. It is designed to be a custom trailer hitch for certain years of the Chevy Silverado 2500, 2500 HD, 2500 HD Classic, 3500, 3500 HD or 3500 Classic and GMC Sierra 2500, 2500 HD, 2500 HD Classic, 3500, 3500 HD or 3500 Classic (to verify your vehicle compatibility, see application info). All CURT Commercial Duty class 5 hitches feature a 2-1/2" x 2-1/2" receiver tube opening to accept the strongest of ball mounts and towing accessories. They are perfect for mounting standard ball mounts, pintle mounts, tow hooks and weight distribution hitches as well as winch mounts and cargo carriers. CURT class 5 tow hitches are protected by a co-curing of liquid A-coat and carbide black powder coat finish. They also mount with grade-8 hardware, included with each hitch.

You need to locate the 14mm bolts and washers in the rear-most bottom section of each frame rail, and the existing weldnuts in the bumper brackets on both sides. The hitch will attach using these existing fastening points.
1. Remove spare tire. 2. Remove the 14mm bolts and washers from the rear-most bottom of each frame rail and save them. 3. Raise the hitch into position, align the rear-most holes with the weldnuts, and loosely attach using the 14mm hardware. 4. Place 9/16" bolts and SP-70 spacers into the forward-most mounting holes. 5. Install mounting straps to the inside of the hitch side plates using two 7/16" bolts per side, positioned to line up with frame rail holes. 6. Place SP-73 spacers and 9/16" bolts into the center mounting locations and attach to the mounting strap using 9/16" flange nuts. 7. Torque all fasteners. 8. Reinstall spare tire.
