CURT custom wiring connectors are the easiest way to outfit your vehicle with a CURT trailer wiring connection. They are built with some of the most advanced technology in the industry, and each one is custom-fitted to work with a specific make and model. Some automotive manufacturers install a special socket on the vehicle to be used for vehicle-to-trailer wiring. Although this special socket is not equipped on every vehicle, a CURT custom wiring connector -- also called a T-connector -- utilizes the socket for simple, stress-free installation. Rather than requiring you to cut, splice and solder into your vehicle's wiring system, the custom wiring connector uses a single OEM-compatible plug and instantly provides a standard, universal vehicle-to-trailer wiring connection, typically in the form a 4-way flat. All CURT custom wiring connectors are made vehicle-specific for the easiest possible installation and the best fit. This particular plug-in connector provides a 4-way flat socket and is designed to be a custom wiring option for certain years of the Toyota Tundra (to verify your vehicle compatibility, see application info). It comes with all necessary hardware to establish a solid connection. It also comes with a dust cover to keep the connector socket clean when not in use. To ensure long-lasting reliability, all CURT custom wiring connectors are thoroughly tested for optimal functionality. Stress is the last thing you should feel when towing a trailer -- whether you're hauling your RV to that favorite camping destination, your ATVs up to the hunting grounds or your fishing boat to the new hidden hotspot. At CURT, we think your towing equipment should add to the enjoyment of your experience, not detract from it.

Yes, the Curt 55378 Custom Wiring Harness is designed for Toyota Tundra pickup trucks in the T3 configuration, which mounts behind the driver side rear bumper. Verify your vehicle matches this specification before purchasing.
The harness is rated for Signal Circuits at 3.0 amps per side and Tail/Running Circuits at 6.0 amps total. Do not exceed these ratings or your tow vehicle's lamp load rating, whichever is lower. Exceeding the product rating can cause loss of warranty, overheating and potential fire.
You will need a Phillips screwdriver and a flat blade screwdriver. The harness kit includes a fuse holder with a 10-amp fuse, double-sided tape for the converter box, cable ties for wire management, and a 4-flat dust cover.
Yes. The first step requires you to open the vehicle hood, disconnect the negative battery cable, and remove the bracket securing the battery. You will temporarily reposition the battery slightly towards the engine to access the gray plastic connector between the battery and driver side fender.
Install a 10-amp fuse into the fuse holder. The battery connection must be fuse-protected with a 10-amp maximum. Do not exceed this rating, as it can cause loss of warranty, overheating and potential fire.
The gray plastic connector is located between the battery and driver side fender. In Step 2, you remove the protective cover and insert the custom wiring harness attached to the fuse holder into this vehicle connector. Ensure the connectors are fully inserted with locking tabs in place.
After inserting the harness into the gray plastic connector, route the other end of the wiring harness to the positive side of the battery and attach the ring terminal to the positive side. Then reposition the battery to its original location and secure any loose wires using the provided cable ties.
The vehicle taillight wiring harness connectors are located behind the rear bumper along the passenger side frame rail. In Step 4, you remove the protective cover from these connectors and insert the custom wiring harness connector, ensuring the connectors are fully inserted with locking tabs in place.
Locate a flat clean surface that is out of the path of spray and debris from the rear wheels and road. Adhere the black converter box using the provided double-sided tape. The box must be mounted in a protected area; failure to do so can cause loss of warranty, product failure, overheating and potential fire.
When in use, route the 4-flat to the center of the vehicle and out of the trunk. When not in use, roll up and store in a convenient, out of the way location inside the trunk. Secure any loose wires with the provided cable ties.
Reinstall all items removed during installation and install the provided 4-flat dust cover to help prevent corrosion. Test the wiring harness for proper function by using a test light or connecting a properly wired trailer. All steps must be followed to ensure the wiring harness will function properly.
Exceeding the product rating (Signal Circuits 3.0 amps per side, Tail/Running Circuits 6.0 amps total) or your tow vehicle's lamp load rating, whichever is lower, can cause loss of warranty, overheating and potential fire. Do not exceed the product rating or the 10-amp fuse protection.
