The CURT 5th wheel adapter is designed to allow the CURT E16 5th wheel hitch head to mount on a set of CURT 5th wheel rollers. It easily attaches to the head of your CURT E15 5th wheel hitch and features various mounting holes for simple height adjustment. It can be used with the CURT R16, R20 or R24. This 5th wheel hitch head adapter is constructed from steel and finished with a black carbide powder coat for ultimate rust and chip resistance.

The CURT 16505 Adapter Kit is a weld assembly designed to connect a CURT 16115 fifth wheel head to a CURT 16500 R5 Roller. It allows you to mount a fifth wheel coupling system to your vehicle by inserting the adapter between the castings of the roller.
Yes. The 16500 R5 Roller is sold separately and is required for this adapter kit to function. The adapter assembly is designed to insert between the castings of the 16500 R5 Roller.
No. The adapter kit is designed to work with the CURT 16115 fifth wheel head, but the head is not included. You must purchase it separately and install it using existing hardware after the adapter assembly is secured.
The kit includes: four 1/2-13 x 1 3/4 hex bolts, four 1/2-13 nylock hex nuts, and four 1/2" flat washers (FW12). These fasteners are used to secure the adapter assembly to the 16500 R5 Roller.
You will need a torque wrench capable of measuring 110 lb-ft, a socket set to fit 1/2" fasteners, and wrenches or a socket to tighten the bolts and nuts. A level or height-adjustment tool may be helpful for positioning the adapter to your desired height.
1. Insert the 16505 Adapter Weld Assembly between the castings of the 16500 R5 Roller. 2. Adjust the assembly to your desired height. 3. Secure it with the four 1/2-13 bolts and nylock nuts provided. 4. Use 1/2" washers to shim the center if needed for height adjustment. 5. Torque all 1/2" fasteners to 110 lb-ft. 6. Install the CURT 16115 fifth wheel head and secure it with existing hardware.
Yes. Before tightening the fasteners, you can adjust the adapter assembly to your desired height. The manual notes that 1/2" washers can be used to shim the center if needed for additional height adjustment.
All 1/2" fasteners (bolts and nuts) must be torqued to 110 lb-ft.
Periodically check the receiver hitch to ensure that all fasteners remain tight and that all structural components are sound. This regular inspection helps maintain the safety and integrity of the fifth wheel coupling system.
The warranty is voided by alteration to, misuse of, or improper installation of the product. Curt Manufacturing Inc. warrants the product to be free of defects in material and workmanship at the time of retail purchase, and will repair or replace defective products at their option when returned prepaid with proof of purchase.
