Our RV bumper hitches are coated with a liquid A-coat followed by a gloss black powder coat finish for lasing resistance against wear and corrosion, and they offer a 2" x 2" receiver tube opening. This particular bumper hitch features a gross trailer weight capacity of 3,500 lbs. and a tongue weight capacity of 350 lbs., making it an excellent choice for towing a bike rack, cargo carrier, boat trailer or small utility trailer behind your RV. It can also be used for towing a recreational vehicle trailer, allowing you to bring with you that ATV, personal watercraft, dirt bike or whatever toys you like to have along for the ride. The Curt 19100 is a 4" X 4" RV bumper hitch with a gross load capacity of 3,500 lbs. trailer weight and 350 lbs. tongue weight when used as a weight-carrying hitch. You must not exceed your vehicle manufacturer's recommended towing capacity, even if this hitch's rating is higher.
No. The Curt 19100 is designed for 4" X 4" bumper beams only. It will not fit other bumper sizes. Verify your vehicle's bumper dimensions before purchasing.
The hitch includes two 1/2-13 UNC carriage bolts (part 10-10174) and two serrated-flange nuts (part 20-00165), both grade 5. These are the only fasteners supplied and are used to secure the hitch to the bumper beam.
The manual does not specify which tools are required for installation. Contact Curt Manufacturing technical support at 1-877-287-8634 for a complete tool list.
1. Locate and mark the center of your vehicle's bumper beam. 2. Position the hitch over the bumper beam on the center mark. 3. Secure it with the two 1/2-13" carriage bolts and flange nuts provided. 4. Torque all 1/2" fasteners to 64 lb-ft.
All 1/2" fasteners (carriage bolts and flange nuts) must be torqued to 64 lb-ft.
Non-trailer loads can be applied to this hitch only if they are supported by Curt 18050 stabilizing straps. Do not apply any non-trailer load without these straps, as they are required for safe operation.
Periodically check the receiver hitch to ensure that all fasteners are tight and that all structural components are sound. The manual does not specify a retorque interval; contact Curt Manufacturing at 1-877-287-8634 for recommended maintenance intervals.
