Draw-Tite has designed custom-fit trailer hitches since 1946 and is one of North America's most widely fitted hitch brands. Receiver hitches use solid all-welded construction and low-profile designs that follow modern vehicle contours, install with minimal bumper cutting or drilling, meet or exceed V5 CSA and SAE J684 standards, and carry a limited lifetime warranty.
Draw-Tite has been leading custom-fit trailer hitch design and engineering since its founding in 1946, and it remains one of the most widely fitted hitch brands in North America. The company's stated approach is straightforward: every hitch is tested rigorously so that it performs well beyond published industry standards, a philosophy it markets as Tested Tough. It sits within the Horizon Global towing group alongside Reese, Fulton, Bulldog, Tekonsha, Bargman and Wesbar.
Custom fit is the defining characteristic. Rather than adapting a universal design, Draw-Tite engineers a trailer hitch for a specific make, model and model year, so it bolts to existing frame locations with minimal bumper cutting or drilling. Low-profile designs follow the rear contours and aerodynamic styling of modern vehicles, which matters more than it once did now that rear fascias are shaped and sensor-equipped. Construction is solid all-welded steel for maximum strength, and every hitch meets or exceeds V5 CSA and SAE J684 standards and is backed by a nationwide limited lifetime warranty.
The range spans receiver sizes and classes to suit different loads, from 1-1/4 inch receivers for bike racks, cargo carriers and light trailers up through 2 inch receivers for heavier towing. Front mount hitches add a receiver at the front of the vehicle for winch mounts, snow plows, spare carriers and precise trailer positioning.
The Hidden Hitch series takes concealment further by mounting behind the vehicle's rear fascia, so the vehicle keeps its factory appearance until a removable receiver is fitted. Each is custom designed per make and model for a no-drill installation that does not compromise ground clearance, rated for up to 3,500 pounds gross trailer weight and 350 pounds tongue weight. Matching plug-and-play wiring completes the towing system.

How To Properly Select a Ball Mount - Draw•Tite®
The 63071 is an adjustable dual ball mount designed to attach to a hitch receiver. It allows you to mount either a 2" or 2 5/16" ball coupler and adjust the height in 1.25-inch increments to match your trailer. The product complies with New York V.E.S.C. Regulation V-5 and SAE J684 safety specifications.
The 63071 is designed to fit standard hitch receivers. The shank inserts into the hitch receiver and is secured with a pin & clip (sold separately). However, the manual does not specify receiver size or compatibility with specific vehicle models, so you should verify your hitch receiver type before purchasing.
Yes. The 63071 is a dual ball mount that accommodates both 2" and 2 5/16" ball couplers. The weight capacity differs by ball size: 2" ball is rated to 10,000 lbs (4535 kg) and 2 5/16" ball is rated to 14,000 lbs (6350 kg). Do not exceed the lower of your towing vehicle manufacturer's rating or these limits.
The pin & clip for the shank (to secure the shank in the hitch receiver) is sold separately. The shank pin & clip (to secure the dual ball mount to the shank) is included. A fastener kit (part number 63071F) is also available. The manual does not specify whether 63071F is included with the product or sold separately.
The 63071 adjusts in 1.25-inch increments. The manual shows a maximum drop position (Figure 1) and maximum rise position (Figure 2), but does not specify the total range in inches. Height should be adjusted so that when the vehicle and trailer are loaded for travel, the trailer coupler and tongue are level with the ground.
Installation has two main steps: (1) Insert the shank into the hitch receiver and attach the pin & clip (sold separately). (2) Insert the dual ball mount onto the shank, adjust to the proper height, and attach the shank pin & clip. Height adjustment is in 1.25-inch increments. The manual does not provide detailed instructions for attaching the pin & clip or specify tools required.
Loosen the shank pin & clip, slide the dual ball mount up or down the shank in 1.25-inch increments to the desired height, then retighten the shank pin & clip. Proper height is achieved when the vehicle and trailer are loaded for travel and the trailer coupler and tongue are level with the ground (see Figure 5 in the manual).
Check that the ball mount height is correct with the vehicle and trailer loaded for travel. The trailer coupler and tongue should be level with the ground. Additionally, check all fasteners are properly tightened. The manual recommends checking the hitch frequently to ensure all fasteners remain properly tightened.
Check the hitch frequently, making sure all fasteners are properly tightened. The manual does not specify an exact inspection interval but emphasizes regular checking. If the hitch or ball becomes damaged, it must be removed and replaced.
The maximum weight capacity for a 2" ball is 10,000 lbs (4535 kg). Do not exceed the lower of your towing vehicle manufacturer's rating or this limit.
The maximum weight capacity for a 2 5/16" ball is 14,000 lbs (6350 kg). Do not exceed the lower of your towing vehicle manufacturer's rating or this limit.
If the hitch or ball has been damaged, it must be removed and replaced. Do not continue to use a damaged mount.
The 63071 shank inserts into a standard hitch receiver and is secured with a pin & clip (sold separately). Verify your hitch receiver type with the manual or manufacturer before purchasing.
Yes, the 63071 is a dual ball mount for both sizes. Weight capacity is 10,000 lbs for 2" and 14,000 lbs for 2 5/16". Do not exceed your vehicle manufacturer's towing rating.
The pin & clip for the shank (to secure it in the hitch receiver) is sold separately. The shank pin & clip for height adjustment is included.
Loosen the shank pin & clip, slide the mount up or down in 1.25-inch increments, and retighten. Adjust so the trailer tongue is level with the ground when loaded.
Check the hitch frequently to ensure all fasteners are properly tightened. Replace the hitch or ball if damaged.
Do not exceed 10,000 lbs (4535 kg) for 2" ball or 14,000 lbs (6350 kg) for 2 5/16" ball, whichever is lower than your vehicle manufacturer's rating.
