Draw-Tite has designed custom-fit trailer hitches since 1946 and is one of North America's most widely fitted hitch brands. Receiver hitches use solid all-welded construction and low-profile designs that follow modern vehicle contours, install with minimal bumper cutting or drilling, meet or exceed V5 CSA and SAE J684 standards, and carry a limited lifetime warranty.
Draw-Tite has been leading custom-fit trailer hitch design and engineering since its founding in 1946, and it remains one of the most widely fitted hitch brands in North America. The company's stated approach is straightforward: every hitch is tested rigorously so that it performs well beyond published industry standards, a philosophy it markets as Tested Tough. It sits within the Horizon Global towing group alongside Reese, Fulton, Bulldog, Tekonsha, Bargman and Wesbar.
Custom fit is the defining characteristic. Rather than adapting a universal design, Draw-Tite engineers a trailer hitch for a specific make, model and model year, so it bolts to existing frame locations with minimal bumper cutting or drilling. Low-profile designs follow the rear contours and aerodynamic styling of modern vehicles, which matters more than it once did now that rear fascias are shaped and sensor-equipped. Construction is solid all-welded steel for maximum strength, and every hitch meets or exceeds V5 CSA and SAE J684 standards and is backed by a nationwide limited lifetime warranty.
The range spans receiver sizes and classes to suit different loads, from 1-1/4 inch receivers for bike racks, cargo carriers and light trailers up through 2 inch receivers for heavier towing. Front mount hitches add a receiver at the front of the vehicle for winch mounts, snow plows, spare carriers and precise trailer positioning.
The Hidden Hitch series takes concealment further by mounting behind the vehicle's rear fascia, so the vehicle keeps its factory appearance until a removable receiver is fitted. Each is custom designed per make and model for a no-drill installation that does not compromise ground clearance, rated for up to 3,500 pounds gross trailer weight and 350 pounds tongue weight. Matching plug-and-play wiring completes the towing system.

Equip your vehicle for towing and hitch-mounted accessories with a dependable CURT 2" trailer hitch. Our selection of CURT 2-inch receiver hitches includes options for trucks, SUVs, crossovers, vans and passenger vehicles. Each hitch is engineered to match specific vehicle mounting points, helping provide a clean installation and dependable performance. Depending on the vehicle application, available options may include Class 3, Class 4 and heavy-duty receiver hitches with different gross trailer weight and tongue weight capacities.
A 2" x 2" receiver opening is one of the most common hitch sizes and works with a wide range of towing accessories, including ball mounts, bike racks, cargo carriers, hitch steps and tow hooks. When towing a trailer, you may also need a properly rated trailer ball, hitch pin, wiring harness, brake controller or weight distribution system.
CURT trailer hitches feature a durable black finish designed to help protect against rust, scratches and exposure to road conditions. Many models install using existing holes in the vehicle frame, although drilling, trimming or temporary removal of vehicle components may be required for certain applications.
Use our vehicle fitment tools to find the correct CURT 2" trailer hitch for your year, make and model. Always compare the hitch rating with your vehicle’s towing capacity and the ratings of every component in your towing setup. The maximum towing capacity is determined by the lowest-rated component.

Yes, part numbers 76074, 84074, and CQT76074 are designed for 2017-current Kia Sportage models. Visit the manufacturer's website for the most up-to-date information regarding specific application years and trim levels.
Required tools: ratchet, torque wrench, sockets, 17mm socket, 6" socket extension, adjustable wrench, flat head screwdriver, exhaust removal pliers, and safety glasses. The fastener kit 76074F (7x M10 bolts and 7x 3/8" conical tooth washers) is included.
Yes. The muffler must be lowered by removing the two rearmost rubber hangers before installation. After the hitch is installed and fasteners are tightened, the muffler is raised back into position and the rubber hangers are reattached.
All seven M10 CL10.9 fasteners must be tightened to 42 Lb.-Ft. (57 N·M) using a torque wrench. Proper torque is essential to keep the hitch securely mounted to the vehicle when towing.
Maximum Gross Trailer Weight: 4500 lb. (2043 kg). Maximum Tongue Weight: 675 lb. (306 kg). Do not exceed the lower of your towing vehicle manufacturer's rating or these limits.
If present on your vehicle, yes. Remove the two plastic underbody appearance panels (one each side) located under the rear bumper and behind the rear wheels using a standard screwdriver to remove plastic push rivets. Set them aside for reinstallation after the hitch is installed.
No drilling is required. The hitch aligns with existing weldnuts in the vehicle's frame rail. However, if additional clearance between the muffler and hitch is needed, two metal exhaust hanger rods must be bent downward (one on each side).
The fastener kit 76074F includes seven M10 x 1.25 x 30mm CL10.9 bolts and seven 3/8" conical tooth washers. The conical washers must be installed with the teeth side facing against the hitch.
Spray a lubricant on the rubber hangers before removal; this makes them slide off the metal pins more easily. Be careful to ensure the exhaust is supported before removing the rubber hangers to prevent the muffler from falling.
The conical tooth washers must be installed with the teeth side facing against the hitch. The washer sits between the bolt head and the hitch mounting surface.
1. Lower the muffler by removing the two rearmost rubber hangers. 2. Remove underbody appearance panels if present. 3. Raise the hitch over the tailpipe(s) and align holes with existing weldnuts in the frame rail. 4. Install the seven M10 bolts and conical tooth washers. 5. Tighten all fasteners to 42 Lb.-Ft. (57 N·M) with a torque wrench. 6. Raise the muffler back into position and reattach rubber hangers. 7. Modify exhaust hangers if additional clearance is needed. 8. Reinstall plastic appearance panels if present.
Bend the two metal exhaust hanger rods downward (one on each side) only if additional clearance between the muffler and hitch is required after the hitch is installed. This is an optional modification performed after the muffler is raised back into position.
No. The manual requires the muffler to be lowered by removing the two rearmost rubber hangers before the hitch can be raised into position over the tailpipe(s). The muffler must be lowered to provide access for hitch installation.
Check that all fasteners and the ball are properly tightened. The manual recommends checking the hitch frequently to ensure all fasteners remain tight and the hitch is securely mounted to the vehicle. Proper torque (42 Lb.-Ft. / 57 N·M) is essential for secure mounting when towing.
If excess sway occurs, remove your foot from the gas pedal and hold the steering wheel as steady as possible. Do not apply your brakes and do not speed up. Slow down when towing and never exceed any posted speed limit.
Load the trailer heavier in the front. This helps with stability and control when towing. Do not exceed the maximum tongue weight of 675 lb. (306 kg) or the maximum gross trailer weight of 4500 lb. (2043 kg).
Always wear safety glasses when installing the hitch. Observe safety precautions when working beneath the vehicle. Do not use a torch to cut access or attachment holes. If the hitch is removed, plug all holes in the trunk pan or other body panels to prevent entry of water and exhaust fumes.
A damaged hitch or ball must be removed and replaced. Do not attempt to repair a damaged hitch. Contact the manufacturer at 1-800-632-3290 or TechnicalSupport@horizonglobal.com for replacement options.
No. Do not cut, weld, or modify the receiver. Modifications will compromise the structural integrity and safety of the hitch and may void the warranty.
Yes. The 76074 hitch supports both weight-carrying and weight-distributing configurations. Both types have the same maximum gross trailer weight (4500 lb. / 2043 kg) and maximum tongue weight (675 lb. / 306 kg).
The average installation time for professional installers is 25 minutes. If you do not feel comfortable performing this installation on your own or are in need of assistance, contact a professional installer.
The 76074 hitch is covered by a Limited Lifetime Warranty from Horizon Global. The warranty covers material defects in both material and workmanship, excluding ordinary wear and tear. The warranty is valid only if the product is installed, maintained, and used according to the manufacturer's instructions. To make a warranty claim, contact Horizon Global at 47912 Halyard Drive, Suite 100, Plymouth, MI 48170, 1-800-632-3290, or TechnicalSupport@horizonglobal.com. You must provide the product and purchase receipt to process a claim.
The 76074 hitch complies with safety specifications and requirements for connecting devices and towing systems of the state of New York, V.E.S.C. Regulation V-5 and SAE J684.
Check the hitch frequently to ensure all fasteners and the ball are properly tightened. The manual does not specify an exact interval, but recommends periodic checks to verify the hitch remains securely mounted to the vehicle.
If your vehicle does not have underbody appearance panels, skip Step 2 of the installation. The panels are noted as "if present," meaning they are optional depending on trim level or configuration. Proceed directly to raising the hitch into position.
If additional clearance between the muffler and hitch is required, bend the two metal exhaust hanger rods downward (one on each side). This is performed after the muffler is raised back into position and the rubber hangers are reattached. Bending the hanger rods will lower the muffler slightly and create additional clearance.
Improper torque is the most likely cause. All M10 CL10.9 fasteners must be tightened to exactly 42 Lb.-Ft. (57 N·M) using a torque wrench. Under-torquing will allow fasteners to loosen during towing vibration. Re-torque all seven bolts to the correct specification. Ensure the conical tooth washers are installed with the teeth side facing against the hitch to provide additional locking.
Ensure the hitch is raised completely over the tailpipe(s) before attempting to align the holes. The hitch must clear the exhaust system to align properly with the existing weldnuts in the frame rail. If the muffler is still in the way, verify that it was lowered completely by removing both rearmost rubber hangers. If alignment is still difficult, the vehicle may have a non-standard exhaust configuration; contact technical support at 1-800-632-3290.
Yes, a compatible bike rack, cargo carrier or other accessory with a 2" x 2" shank can generally be used. Make sure the accessory does not exceed the hitch’s tongue weight rating, the vehicle’s limits or the accessory manufacturer’s capacity. Account for the combined weight of the carrier and everything loaded onto it.
