LUVERNE Grip Step wheel-to-wheel running boards equip your pickup truck for whatever job lies ahead. They offer easier truck bed access, fleet-level safety, a highly rust-free construction and a custom fit for your truck and lifestyle. Grip Step wheel-to-wheel steps are the ideal solution for better truck bed access. Whether you need to reach a truck tool box, ladder rack or some cargo in the truck bed, the wheel-to-wheel steps are extra-long, providing a convenient step up for reaching into the truck bed. Grip Step running boards are also built for hard work, featuring expanded metal treads that offer fleet-approved safety. The open treads ensure maximum traction for your boots -- whether rain or shine -- and they also help keep your truck's interior clean by allowing dirt, snow and debris to pass through the boards. For superior resistance to the elements, Grip Step wheel-to-wheel running boards are made from aluminum alloy. They're strong, lightweight and highly corrosion-resistant. To maximize this corrosion resistance, the running boards and brackets are both shielded in a durable black powder coat finish. The running boards also feature hardened plastic end caps that eliminate sharp corners and add a professional touch. All LUVERNE Grip Step wheel-to-wheel steps are designed for vehicle-specific applications. This ensures a custom fit and the easiest possible installation. The running boards mount with vehicle-specific brackets and use pre-existing mounting points to avoid difficult modifications. This particular set of wheel-to-wheel running boards is designed to fit specific years of the Chevy Silverado 1500, 2500, 2500 HD, 3500 or 3500 HD and GMC Sierra 1500, 2500, 2500 HD, 3500 or 3500 HD (see application information to verify fitment; brackets included but shipped separately).
Grip Step wheel-to-wheel running boards are designed to be the best running boards for work trucks, featuring a unique expanded metal tread pattern for superior traction and a 7" width for reliable footing.

LUVERNE has manufactured truck accessories in the United States since 1963, specialising in grille guards, running boards, side steps and mud guards for pickups, commercial vans and SUVs. Products are built primarily from stainless steel, aluminium and mild steel, with model-specific mounting kits that use existing frame locations for a bolt-on installation.
LUVERNE has been manufacturing automotive accessories in the United States since 1963, and six decades of continuous production have made it a nationally recognised name in the truck accessory market. Now a Lippert brand, it concentrates on a defined set of products rather than spreading across the whole aftermarket: front-end protection, step access and spray protection for pickup trucks, commercial vans and sport utility vehicles.
Step products are the largest part of the catalog and the range is unusually deep, because the right step depends on the vehicle's ride height, the width of the rocker panel and how often people get in and out. The O-Mega II six-inch oval steps give a wide, flat standing surface in polished stainless or black powder coat, while the Regal 7 seven-inch oval steps go wider still for full-size crew cabs and lifted trucks. The broader running board and side bar range covers round tube, oval and boxed profiles across cab configurations, with treads positioned at the door openings where they are used.
Grille guards protect the front end against impacts, brush and road debris, built in tubular stainless or steel with model-specific brackets that tie into factory frame mounting points. Because the fit is engineered per vehicle, installation is a bolt-on job that does not require drilling or cutting on most applications.
Rounding out the line, LUVERNE mud guards and mud flaps shield rocker panels, paint and following vehicles from stones and road spray, in widths matched to the tyre and fender they sit behind. Material choice runs through everything the brand does: stainless steel where appearance and corrosion resistance matter most, aluminium where weight is the priority, and mild steel with protective coating where strength and value lead. Customers include contractors, fleet operators, van upfitters and truck owners.

The LUVERNE Grip Step 7" x 102" Aluminum W2W Running Boards, Select Silverado, Sierra 415102-401117 (Part #FTNF415102-401117) Refer to the included instructions for installation details. Basic hand tools are typically all you need.
Yes, the Model 401117 is designed for 1999 GM Silverado and Sierra pickups in Regular, Extended, and Crew Cab configurations. The installation process varies slightly depending on cab style: Extended Cab and Crew Cab models require additional rear outboard mounting brackets (items #5 and #6) attached to the rear inboard bracket (item #7), while Regular Cab models do not. If you have a 1500 model pickup, you must also attach bracket item #14 to brackets items #1 and #2 to use the load reaction stud.
Yes. If you are mounting the 401117 steps on a 1500 model pickup, you must attach bracket item #14 (90 degree, 3 holes) to brackets items #1 and #2 in order to use the load reaction stud. This bracket is included in the parts package.
The package includes: 2 front mounting brackets (LH/RH), 2 center mounting brackets (LH/RH), 2 rear outboard mounting brackets (LH/RH), 2 rear inboard mounting brackets, 2 spring hanger mounting brackets (outboard and inboard), 6 load reaction studs (double-ended, 3/8-16 x 4.50"), 6 rubber cushion washers, 12 flat washers (3/8"), 24 serrated flange nuts (3/8-16), 6 bolts (3/8-16 x 1.00"), 2 flat washers (.59 ID x 1.06 OD), 2 ninety-degree brackets (3 holes), 2 hex head cap screws (5/16-18 x 1.00"), 2 serrated flange nuts (5/16-18), 2 flat washers (5/16"), 4 flat washers (1/2"), 2 nylock nuts (3/8-16), 2 hex head bolts (3/8-16 x 2.00"), and 4 flat washers (3/8"). All fasteners are zinc plated or black zinc plated unless otherwise noted.
Read the complete installation instructions and verify that all required parts listed in the service parts list are on hand before starting. You will also need to review the separate installation instructions included with your step assembly for specific details on attaching the step assembly to the brackets. Have the manual available during installation as the process involves multiple mounting points and specific fastener sequences.
Assemble the load reaction studs (item #11) as follows: On the short threaded end, install a black 3/8" serrated flange nut (item #10) backwards to the bottom of the thread. Then install a black 3/8" flat washer (item #9) and rubber cushion washer (item #8) tight up against the serrated flange nut. The end of the stud must be recessed in the rubber washer approximately 3/16". On the long threaded end of the stud, install a black 3/8" serrated flange nut (item #10) backwards to near the bottom of the threads. Complete this assembly before attaching the studs to the body mounting brackets.
Insert the stud from the inboard side of the bracket through the lowest hole in the bent flange that will allow the rubber washer to set firmly against the side wall of the frame. Install a black flange nut (item #10) on the outboard end of the stud, but leave it finger tight only at this stage. Do not fully tighten until all mounting brackets are installed and aligned.
Remove the factory front body mount bolts from one side of the vehicle at a time. Install the front mounting brackets (items #1 and #2) to the front cab mount and the center mounting brackets (items #3 and #4) to the center cab mount as shown in the diagrams. Leave all these fasteners finger tight initially. Do not fully tighten until all mounting brackets are installed and aligned.
For Extended Cab only: Install the rear inboard mounting bracket (item #7) and washer (item #13) to the rear cab mount, leaving fasteners finger tight. Then attach the rear outboard bracket (items #5 and #6) to the back side of the rear inboard bracket (item #7) using 3/8" black zinc plated bolts (item #12), washers (item #9), and serrated flange nuts (item #10). Use the bottom single hole and top double holes in the rear inboard bracket. Put bolts through the front side so serrated flange nuts are on the back side for frame clearance. Torque these bolts to 19 lb. ft.
For Crew Cab only: Install the rear inboard mounting bracket (item #7) and washer (item #13) to the rear cab mount, leaving fasteners finger tight. Then attach the rear outboard bracket (items #5 and #6) to the back side of the rear inboard bracket (item #7) using 3/8" black zinc plated bolts (item #12), washers (item #9), and serrated flange nuts (item #10). Use the bottom single hole and bottom double holes in the rear inboard bracket. Put bolts through the front side so serrated flange nuts are on the back side for frame clearance. Torque these bolts to 19 lb. ft.
Loosen the spring hanger bolt just enough so the inboard spring hanger mounting bracket (item #23) can be slid up behind the flange of the bolt. Position the inboard bracket behind the flange with the channel open to the outboard side. Install the outboard spring hanger bracket (item #22) so its inboard vertical portion fits inside the channel of the inboard bracket, using a 3/8" zinc plated bolt (item #20), 3/8" washer (item #21), 1/2" washer (item #18), and 3/8" zinc plated nylock nut (item #19). Do not tighten these bolts until the bracket is attached to the step assembly.
The bolts connecting the rear outboard mounting bracket (items #5 and #6) to the rear inboard mounting bracket (item #7) must be torqued to 19 lb. ft. This applies to both Extended Cab and Crew Cab configurations. These are 3/8" black zinc plated bolts (item #12).
Use caution when removing the body mount bolts on 2010+ GM Silverado/Sierra models. These vehicles have excessive thread locker in the body mount bolt area. Removing the bolts carelessly can cause damage to the threaded inserts inside the vehicle. Work slowly and carefully when unbolting to minimize this risk.
Curt Group recommends regular inspection and maintenance of the leaf spring attachment point per GM Technical Service Bulletin 09-03-09-001E: Clunking Noise from Rear of Vehicle (Re-torque Leaf Spring Bolts) for 2007-2017 Chevrolet GMC Trucks. Regularly inspect and maintain factory-recommended torque values on the spring hanger bolts. Failure to do so may result in damage to the vehicle. Additionally, after initial installation, the body mount bolts and spring hanger bolts must be tightened to manufacturer specifications.
Yes, the 401117 fits 1999 GM Silverado and Sierra in Regular, Extended, and Crew Cab configurations. If you have a 1500 model, you must also use bracket item #14.
