LUVERNE Grip Step 7" running boards for vans are the ideal work van accessories, adding safe, dependable footing to your cargo van with a vehicle-specific fit. Grip Step van steps are equipped with high-traction treads for fleet-approved safety, and they are made from powder-coated aluminum to be lightweight and provide long-lasting resistance to the elements. All Grip Step running boards are engineered for vehicle-specific installation. These van steps offer a custom fit for certain years and styles of the Ford Transit-150, Transit-250 and Transit-350 (see application info to verify fitment with your cargo van). They come with a shorter driver-side step and longer passenger-side step for the sliding door. They also come with powder-coated steel brackets and stainless steel hardware for a complete install. Grip Step running boards for vans are optimized for delivery trucks, construction vehicles and other commercial vans. They feature a 7" width, covered with expanded metal treads to grip the bottom of your boots for safe entry and exit every time. The metal treads are also highly resistant to wear, and they help keep the steps clean with their open, through-hole design. The aluminum construction of LUVERNE Grip Step running boards makes them strong for a rigid step, but lightweight for optimized fuel efficiency. Aluminum is also highly corrosion-resistant. To maximize corrosion resistance, Grip Step van steps are shielded in a textured black powder coat finish. This gives them an impervious layer of protection against the elements and resists chipping and UV damage. The black running boards also complement the look and style of your cargo van, adding a professional finishing touch. To complete the look, we also offer rear Grip Step van steps, providing safe, convenient access to the rear cargo area.
Grip Step van running boards are designed to be the best running boards for work vans and cargo vans, featuring a unique expanded metal tread pattern for superior traction and a 7" width for reliable footing.

LUVERNE has manufactured truck accessories in the United States since 1963, specialising in grille guards, running boards, side steps and mud guards for pickups, commercial vans and SUVs. Products are built primarily from stainless steel, aluminium and mild steel, with model-specific mounting kits that use existing frame locations for a bolt-on installation.
LUVERNE has been manufacturing automotive accessories in the United States since 1963, and six decades of continuous production have made it a nationally recognised name in the truck accessory market. Now a Lippert brand, it concentrates on a defined set of products rather than spreading across the whole aftermarket: front-end protection, step access and spray protection for pickup trucks, commercial vans and sport utility vehicles.
Step products are the largest part of the catalog and the range is unusually deep, because the right step depends on the vehicle's ride height, the width of the rocker panel and how often people get in and out. The O-Mega II six-inch oval steps give a wide, flat standing surface in polished stainless or black powder coat, while the Regal 7 seven-inch oval steps go wider still for full-size crew cabs and lifted trucks. The broader running board and side bar range covers round tube, oval and boxed profiles across cab configurations, with treads positioned at the door openings where they are used.
Grille guards protect the front end against impacts, brush and road debris, built in tubular stainless or steel with model-specific brackets that tie into factory frame mounting points. Because the fit is engineered per vehicle, installation is a bolt-on job that does not require drilling or cutting on most applications.
Rounding out the line, LUVERNE mud guards and mud flaps shield rocker panels, paint and following vehicles from stones and road spray, in widths matched to the tyre and fender they sit behind. Material choice runs through everything the brand does: stainless steel where appearance and corrosion resistance matter most, aluminium where weight is the priority, and mild steel with protective coating where strength and value lead. Customers include contractors, fleet operators, van upfitters and truck owners.

You will need: drill with bits (3/32", 3/8", and 19/64"), socket 1/2", wrench 1/2", ratchet, putty knife, flat screwdriver, and marker. All tools are listed in the manual's Tools Required section.
Yes. You must drill pilot holes (3/32") and mounting holes (3/8" and 19/64") in the vehicle's rocker panel and pinch weld.
Three drill bit sizes are required: 3/32" for pilot holes, 3/8" for lower mounting holes, and 19/64" for upper AC bracket holes.
The kit includes: Front Mounting Bracket (553193), Middle Mounting Bracket (553196), Rear Mounting Bracket (553199), AC Mounting Bracket (553202), AC Top Mounting Bracket (553212), two U-Bolts (3.75" and 3"), two T-bolt weldments, plastic bolt retainers, clip nuts (M8), hex bolts (M8), thread-cutting bolts (5/16"), washers (5/16"), lock washers (5/16"), flange nuts (M8), spacers, and bolt retainers.
The manual does not mention battery disconnection. This is a mechanical bracket installation with drilling; however, consult the vehicle's service manual or a qualified technician if you have concerns about electrical safety during the work.
No. You only need to release the bottom push pins from underneath the plastic rocker molding using a flat-head screwdriver. Do not remove the plastic trim all the way.
Place a putty knife between the pinch weld and the plastic rocker molding while drilling to avoid damaging the molding from the drill bit.
1. Start on the passenger side and locate mounting locations using the figures. 2. Mark holes on the rocker and pinch weld. 3. Drill pilot holes (3/32") then mounting holes (3/8"). 4. Release plastic rocker push pins. 5. Install the 3" U-Bolt through top holes with plastic bolt retainers. 6. Slide clip nuts on the pinch weld for bottom holes. 7. Slide the front mounting bracket onto the U-Bolts and secure with washers and nuts. 8. Repeat for the second bracket. 9. Continue to the 5th bracket, then repeat on the driver side. 10. For the 3rd and 4th brackets, use factory studs if available, or 3.75" U-Bolts if not. 11. Leave all brackets loose until the step board is installed. 12. Install the AC bracket separately. 13. Tighten all brackets once the step board is in place and level.
No. The manual explicitly states to leave all brackets loose until the end. Tighten all brackets only after the step board is placed on the brackets and confirmed to be level.
Put the 3" U-Bolt through the top 2 mounting holes and secure it with 2 plastic bolt retainers. Then slide the front mounting bracket onto the U-Bolts and secure with 2 flat washers (5/16"), 2 nuts (8mm) on the studs, and 2 lock washers (5/16") and 2 bolts (8mm) in the clip nuts.
The rear mounting bracket is secured with 1 nut (8mm) and 2 bolts (8mm) on the T-bolts. The T-bolt weldment includes a plastic retainer clip.
1. Assemble the AC bracket using 2 bolts (M8), 2 washers (5/16"), and 2 nuts (M8). 2. Drill 2 upper holes with a 19/64" bit and 2 lower holes with a 3/8" bit. 3. Slide 2 clip nuts on the pinch weld for the lower holes. 4. Attach the AC bracket using 2 bolts (8mm) and 2 lock washers (5/16") on the bottom clip nuts, and 2 thread-cutting bolts (5/16") and 2 lock washers (5/16") on the upper holes. The upper holes use self-threading bolts.
The 3rd and 4th brackets differ based on your vehicle: models with factory studs will use those as mounting locations. Models without factory studs will have pre-drilled holes in the rocker panel and will use 3.75" U-Bolts with plastic bolt retainers, following the same procedure as the front brackets.
Yes. The installation requires drilling holes in the rocker panel and pinch weld. These modifications are permanent.
The manual does not specify the total number of holes. However, you will drill pilot holes (3/32") and mounting holes (3/8") for each of the 5 brackets on each side of the vehicle, plus 4 holes for the AC bracket (2 at 19/64" and 2 at 3/8"). Refer to Figures 1-4 in the manual for exact hole locations.
Drill 2 upper holes with a 19/64" bit and 2 lower holes with a 3/8" bit. The upper holes use self-threading bolts.
The manual does not provide torque specifications for any fasteners. Consult the step board assembly instructions included with your kit or contact the manufacturer for torque values.
After placing the step board on the brackets, tighten all brackets so the board is level. The manual references step board assembly instructions included in your step assembly for specific details.
Yes. Ensure the step board is level after tightening all brackets. The manual also references step board assembly instructions for specific post-installation details, which are not included in the bracket installation manual.
The manual does not provide maintenance instructions. Standard maintenance for vehicle accessories typically includes periodic inspection of fasteners and brackets for looseness or corrosion. Consult the manufacturer or step board instructions for specific maintenance recommendations.
