They are built from aluminum alloy for exceptional, rust-free strength, and they are simple to install using high-strength vehicle-specific brackets. Because they boast an impressive 7" width, the side steps are as comfortable as they are skid-resistant. We know the job doesn't make exceptions to keep your vehicle looking pretty, and that is why Grip Step running boards are made from aluminum and shielded in a tough powder coat finish. We use a 5052 aluminum alloy to provide maximum strength and unstoppable rust resistance. To finish things off and add a professional touch, we also apply a durable textured black powder coat and contoured black plastic end caps to further protect against dirt, moisture and other threats on the job. To make installation as simple as possible, Grip Step 7" running boards are each designed for a custom-fit installation, using vehicle-specific mounting brackets. The brackets are covered in a durable black powder coat finish and bolt onto the boards using stainless steel fasteners for long-lasting strength. This particular set of Grip Step running boards is designed to fit specific years of the Chevy Silverado 1500, 2500, 2500 HD, 3500 or 3500 HD and GMC Sierra 1500, 2500, 2500 HD, 3500 or 3500 HD (see application info to verify fitment). These running boards come with brackets, but the brackets are shipped separately.

The broader running board and side bar range covers round tube, oval and boxed profiles across cab configurations, with treads positioned at the door openings where they are used.
Grille guards protect the front end against impacts, brush and road debris, built in tubular stainless or steel with model-specific brackets that tie into factory frame mounting points. Because the fit is engineered per vehicle, installation is a bolt-on job that does not require drilling or cutting on most applications.

Yes, the Curt Model 401111 step brackets are designed for 1999 GM Silverado and Sierra Regular Cab Pickups. These brackets mount to the factory front and rear cab body mount points.
If you are mounting the steps on a 1500 model pickup, you must attach the 90-degree brackets (Item #9, part number 551571) to the front mounting brackets (Items #1 and #2) in order to use the load reaction studs. Two of these brackets are included in the package.
The bracket package includes: 2 front mounting brackets (LH and RH), 2 rear mounting brackets (LH and RH), 4 rubber cushion washers, 4 flat washers (3/8"), 12 serrated flange nuts (3/8"), 4 double-ended studs (3/8"-16 x 4.50"), 2 ninety-degree brackets, 2 socket head cap screws (5/16"-18 x 1.00"), 2 serrated flange nuts (5/16"-18), and 2 flat washers (5/16"). The step assembly itself is sold separately and includes its own instructions.
Yes. You must remove the factory front and rear body mount bolts from the cab mounts and replace them with the mounting brackets provided. Work one side of the vehicle at a time. If you have a 2010 or newer GM Silverado or Sierra, use caution when removing the body mount bolts, as they have excessive thread locker that can damage the threaded inserts inside the vehicle.
On the short threaded end of each stud (Item #8), install a 3/8" serrated flange nut (Item #7) backwards to the bottom of the thread. Then install a 3/8" flat washer (Item #6) and rubber cushion washer (Item #5) tight against the serrated flange nut. The end of the stud must be recessed in the rubber washer approximately 3/16". On the long threaded end of the stud, install a 3/8" serrated flange nut (Item #7) backwards to the bottom of the threads.
Insert the stud from the inboard side of the bracket through the lowest hole in the bent flange that will allow the rubber washer to seat firmly against the side wall of the frame. Install a 3/8" black flange nut (Item #7) on the outboard end of the stud, but leave it finger tight only at this stage.
No. After installing the front mounting brackets (Items #1 and #2) to the front cab mount and the rear mounting brackets (Items #3 and #4) to the rear cab mount, leave all fasteners finger tight only. Final tightening occurs after the step assembly is attached.
All remaining 3/8" bolts and nuts should be tightened to 19 lb-ft. The factory body mount bolts should be tightened per the manufacturer's specifications.
