Get the job done right with LUVERNE Grip Step 7" running boards. These roughneck truck side steps feature a unique expanded metal tread pattern for superior traction and a 7" width for reliable footing. They are built from aluminum alloy for exceptional, rust-free strength, and they are simple to install using high-strength vehicle-specific brackets. The rugged, expanded metal tread and angular design of Grip Step running boards truly makes them a side accessory fit for your work truck or commercial van. No matter the season, the superior traction of Grip Steps locks onto the bottom of your boots and provides safe vehicle entry and exit. Because they boast an impressive 7" width, the side steps are as comfortable as they are skid-resistant. We know the job doesn't make exceptions to keep your vehicle looking pretty, and that is why Grip Step running boards are made from aluminum and shielded in a tough powder coat finish. We use a 5052 aluminum alloy to provide maximum strength and unstoppable rust resistance. To finish things off and add a professional touch, we also apply a durable textured black powder coat and contoured black plastic end caps to further protect against dirt, moisture and other threats on the job. To make installation as simple as possible, Grip Step 7" running boards are each designed for a custom-fit installation, using vehicle-specific mounting brackets. The brackets are covered in a durable black powder coat finish and bolt onto the boards using stainless steel fasteners for long-lasting strength. This particular set of Grip Step running boards is designed to fit specific years of the Chevy Silverado 2500 HD or 3500 HD and GMC Sierra 2500 HD or 3500 HD (see application info to verify fitment). These running boards come with brackets, but the brackets are shipped separately.
Grip Step running boards are designed to be the best running boards for work trucks, featuring a unique expanded metal tread pattern for superior traction and a 7" width for reliable footing.

LUVERNE has manufactured truck accessories in the United States since 1963, specialising in grille guards, running boards, side steps and mud guards for pickups, commercial vans and SUVs. Products are built primarily from stainless steel, aluminium and mild steel, with model-specific mounting kits that use existing frame locations for a bolt-on installation.
LUVERNE has been manufacturing automotive accessories in the United States since 1963, and six decades of continuous production have made it a nationally recognised name in the truck accessory market. Now a Lippert brand, it concentrates on a defined set of products rather than spreading across the whole aftermarket: front-end protection, step access and spray protection for pickup trucks, commercial vans and sport utility vehicles.
Step products are the largest part of the catalog and the range is unusually deep, because the right step depends on the vehicle's ride height, the width of the rocker panel and how often people get in and out. The O-Mega II six-inch oval steps give a wide, flat standing surface in polished stainless or black powder coat, while the Regal 7 seven-inch oval steps go wider still for full-size crew cabs and lifted trucks. The broader running board and side bar range covers round tube, oval and boxed profiles across cab configurations, with treads positioned at the door openings where they are used.
Grille guards protect the front end against impacts, brush and road debris, built in tubular stainless or steel with model-specific brackets that tie into factory frame mounting points. Because the fit is engineered per vehicle, installation is a bolt-on job that does not require drilling or cutting on most applications.
Rounding out the line, LUVERNE mud guards and mud flaps shield rocker panels, paint and following vehicles from stones and road spray, in widths matched to the tyre and fender they sit behind. Material choice runs through everything the brand does: stainless steel where appearance and corrosion resistance matter most, aluminium where weight is the priority, and mild steel with protective coating where strength and value lead. Customers include contractors, fleet operators, van upfitters and truck owners.

Yes. The installation requires you to remove the factory front and rear body mount bolts from your 2015 GM 2500/3500HD and install the mounting brackets in their place. The manual notes that due to excessive thread locker in the body mount bolt area on Silverado/Sierra, you should use caution when removing these bolts.
No. The model 401741 is a no-drill application. The brackets mount to the existing factory body mount locations on 2015 GM 2500/3500HD Regular Cab Pickups.
Follow this sequence: (1) Slide the appropriate number of support braces (item #2) into the channel of the step (item #1). (2) Slide the end cap (item #3) over the front and rear of each step. (3) Screw the end cap to the bottom of the step using the supplied #8 x 1/2" self-drilling tek screw (item #8). (4) Set the step on the mounting brackets and slide each support brace over the top of each mounting bracket. (5) Attach the flat spacer plate (item #4) to the bottom of the step, between the support brace and the top of the mounting bracket. (6) Attach the step assembly using the supplied 5/16-18 x 1" carriage bolt, washer, and flange nuts (items #5, 6, 7). (7) Set the step plate in the correct position and tighten all fasteners.
The load reaction stud assembly is a two-step process: (1) On the short threaded end of the load reaction stud (item #9), install a 3/8" serrated flange nut (item #8) backwards to the bottom of the thread. Then install a 3/8" flat washer (item #7) and rubber cushion washer (item #6) tight up against the serrated flange nut. The end of the stud must be recessed in the rubber washer approximately 3/16". (2) On the long threaded end of the stud, install a 3/8" serrated flange nut (item #8) backwards to near the bottom of the threads.
Insert the stud from the inboard (frame) side through the lowest hole in the bent flange of the bracket that will allow the rubber washer to seat firmly against the side wall of the frame. Install a 3/8"-16 flange nut (item #8) on the outboard end of the stud, finger tight only at this stage. After positioning the load reaction bolt assembly so the rubber cushion is snug against the side of the frame, tighten the 3/8" flange nuts on either side of the bracket to 19 LB. FT.
Follow this sequence: (1) Preassemble the front bracket on the left side. (2) Assemble the load reaction studs and hardware. (3) Attach the load reaction stud assemblies to the mounting brackets. (4) Remove the factory front and rear body mount bolts. (5) Install the front mounting bracket to the front body mount (leave fasteners finger tight). (6) Install the rear mounting bracket to the rear body mount (leave fasteners finger tight). (7) Install the step boards per the instructions included with your step boards. (8) Position the load reaction bolt assembly so the rubber cushion is snug against the side of the frame and tighten the 3/8" flange nuts to 19 LB. FT. (9) Repeat steps 1-8 for the right side of the vehicle.
Torque all 5/16" fasteners to 19 LB. FT. This applies to the carriage bolts, washers, and flange nuts that attach the step assembly to the mounting brackets.
Torque all 3/8" fasteners to 19 LB. FT. This applies to the 3/8"-16 x 1.0" screws used to preassemble the front bracket and the 3/8" flange nuts on the load reaction studs.
