MegaStep wheel-to-wheel running boards are uniquely designed with extra length on the rear of the boards, reaching all the way to the back wheels. This provides a convenient and secure step for reaching into the truck bed and accessing the crossover truck tool box, headache rack or 5th wheel hitch. The entire length of the running boards is covered with a non-skid rubber tread for enhanced safety, even in wet, rainy conditions. Unlike plastic treads, rubber offers better grip for your boots or shoes. The base of MegaStep wheel-to-wheel running boards is an extruded aluminum alloy, providing excellent strength, while remaining lightweight and completely rust-free. To give these truck side steps a touch of style, they are fitted with a polished stainless steel trim that contours around the boards and gives them a look similar to popular nerf bars. The trim piece is polished to a mirror-like shine and easily withstands rain, snow, dirt and more. To make installation fast, easy and secure, LUVERNE MegaStep wheel-to-wheel steps are made vehicle-specific. Each set has a specific board length and vehicle-specific brackets, providing a custom fit for each unique truck. The brackets install using pre-existing mounting points to eliminate difficult modifications, and the running boards can be positioned inward, outward, forward or backward to suit personal preferences. This particular set of MegaStep wheel-to-wheel running boards is designed for specific years of the Chevy Silverado 1500, 2500 HD or 3500 HD and GMC Sierra 1500, 2500 HD or 3500 HD (see application information to verify fitment; brackets included but shipped separately).

The kit includes: 12× M8 × 30 × 1.25 screws (SST, BZP); 6× mounting brackets; 12× 5/16" standard flat washers (SST); 6× M8 flanged nuts (ZP); 6× 5/16" × 1.00" screws (ZP); 6× U-nuts 5/16"-18; 6× nylon spacer washers (0.312" ID × 1.24" OD × 0.25" thick); 2× 3/8"-16 nylock hex nuts (ZP); 4× 1/2" flat washers (ZP); 4× 3/8" flat washers (ZP); 2× rear outboard mounting brackets; 2× rear inboard mounting brackets; 6× pinch weld support brackets; and 2× 3/8"-16 × 2.00" hex head bolts (ZP). The step board fastener package (4× 5/16" square head screws and 5/16" serrated flange nuts) comes with the step board assembly.
The distance between the 1st and 2nd bracket must be 24 inches.
Tighten the rocker panel fasteners (screw, washer, nut, and pinch weld support bracket) to 19 lb-ft. This applies to each of the six mounting brackets.
Tighten the spring hanger flange nut to 60 lb-ft.
Tighten the 5/16" serrated flange nuts on the square head screws to 19 lb-ft.
The nylon washer (Item #8) is inserted between the top of the mounting bracket and the bottom of the rocker panel to protect the vehicle's finish and provide a cushion between the bracket and the rocker panel.
Loosen the spring hanger bolt just enough to slide the inboard spring hanger mounting bracket (Item #13) up behind the flange of the bolt. Position it behind the flange with the channel open to the outboard side.
Install the outboard spring hanger mounting bracket (Item #12) so that its inboard vertical portion fits inside the channel shape of the inboard spring hanger mounting bracket (Item #13). Use a 3/8" zinc plated bolt (Item #17), washers (1/2" and 3/8"), and 3/8" zinc plated nylock nut. Leave the fasteners finger tight until the final tightening step.
Position the Mega Step on the mounting brackets so that the four 5/16" square head screws (inserted in the center slot on the underside of the step) are located in the slots of the mounting brackets. The step must be centered front to rear on the vehicle. Install 5/16" serrated flange nuts on the square head screws and tighten to 19 lb-ft.
The top of the mounting brackets (Item #5) is attached using M8 bolts (Item #2) and washers (Item #4). However, the third bracket back uses a 5/16" bolt (Item #6), U-nut (Item #7), and washer (Item #4) instead.
